Mama's & Papa's Japanese Cafe

Nice outdoor venue out the back. The food looks good but the taste is okay and a little expensive.

The staff were all super welcoming and friendly! The food was also clean, yummy and delicious.the cafe offers a great variety of dishes and outdoor dining, where you can enjoy your meal in the open air.:)

Highly recommend this place, the chef is just amazing! Had the teriyaki beef it just melted in my mouth, the katsu chicken and the sauce that’s accompanied with it was just Devine. Have not been able to fault any of the food. Have been back as a regular customer ever since my first visit in January.

Violent, rude and discriminatory treatment of customers. Sorry if this honest post is triggering. On the outside it appears to be a family-friendly and welcoming restaurant. Our family walked in hoping for a homecook meal and a peaceful evening. We were shocked when the owner, husband and wife, blocked our way and said they refuse to serve kids. We tried reasoning with them that our children are well-behaved, won't make a mess and don't need highchairs. Not only did they not listen, both of them became aggressive and even physically pushed us outside. I haven't received any service this bad in my life, but at least I'm an adult. My children were devastated. It was one hurtful lesson on discrimination that I wouldn't wish on any children. I don't even know whether what they're doing is legal. Also, outside their restaurant they wrote they were hiring "young female" staff - not sure if that is in breach of another discrimination law? !

The front desk guy was very rude.

I just checked the reviews and noticed I am not the only one been treated rudely, don't wanna visit anymore anyways so I will not argue with you.
I hope you can finish the same meal as I got served the first time, the teriyaki eel rice was full of teriyaki sauce and barely can't eat the rice, it was very salty, and I ask the front desk guy, could u provide some me plain rice? Bc the rice was full of sauce and very salty, he showed me a very unhappy face and said that's how teriyaki sauce is, come on man! You r not the only Japanese restaurant in Perth!

This is a gorgeous, authentic, family run restaurant which creates beautiful Japanese cuisine. The food is freshly prepared and presented with care and cultural sensitivity. The portions are really healthy both dine in & take away. Support local. You’ll love it!

Food was just very average, not authentic Japanese and overpriced. Customer service missing. Far better Japanese options around Perth so I do not recommend here.

By far the best Japanese food I've ever had in perth. I tried the delicious Teriyaki Beef Don and the kaarage chicken with a devine sauce to match. The staff are amazing especially Emily who went above and beyond and certainly delivered! I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting mouth watering authentic flavours and foods. You won't be disappointed.

Teriyaki chicken and rice was amazing, Emily (owner) was so welcoming and, also had mixed sushi which was delicious, even better they use free range chicken, definitely will be back again!

While a little cramped (the shop is small and, well, COVID regs.), there's a lot to love: the Bento boxes were really good value (lots of interesting tid-bits), the miso was good (and I don't like miso!) and there were plenty of options for a smallkitchen. Needs a style refresh (sticky tape to mend the ceramic plaque? Maybe not), but keep the kitchy charm.

Great quality and authentic japanese food! There can be a little wait but that's what it takes to get lovely food freshly cooked.

Was looking forward to have dinner with a group of friends. Rang first to see if we could book for a group of 8 but was told no booking allowed.
So we arrived early and when we walked in we were rudely told they will not serve a group of 8 even if we were to take 2 per table. The owner actually told us to go somewhere else.rudely

So we all left and went opposite to have burgers at RoyAL.

Pretty disappointed.always want to support small business during COVID time.guess they are too good for us to eat there.
