Main Street Ryu Japanese Food X Liquor reviews
68 It tastes pretty good.
It's just that the waiters are quite cold. It's better to take the initiative and ask
This was hands down the best Japanese restaurant I've ever been to in Australia. All the dishes were spot on, the timing was appropriate and drinks were. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
The food was outstanding. The sashimi was fresh and melted in your mouth. Wow! Very high end food with a more casual restaurant environment.
Very disappointing. They brought the entrees out last. The tea was cold. When we asked for hot tea they told us we couldn’t have miso soup because they needed to boil the kettle. 20 mins later we got the tea. No cups though. 30 mins later we got miso soup. Not authentic Japanese food and terrible service.
Ordered 3 items of food
The most delicious and surprising thing is cauliflower. It is supposed to be fried and seasoned. It is very surprising. Recommended
Secondly, the volcano ramen has a lot of ingredients and the soup base is good, but not special. The recommendation is moderate.
Finally, there is the dessert, which has a rich green tea flavor and is beautifully presented. The recommendation is somewhat medium.
Went for dinner last week, haven't been there for a while. It was just as good as I remembered.loved everything (the standouts were the cauliflower and salmon dishes) and the lychee cocktail was wonderful. Well worth a try if you are in the city!
Terrible. Service so slow we had to go up to the bar after 20mins to ask them to take our order (only 4 other ppl in restaurant, staff just chatting and ignoring everyone).
Sake (100ml) served as a wine glass, rather than an ochoko (I have never seen that after travelling in Japan and dining in hundreds of Japanese restaurants both overseas and in Australia).
Sushimi was reasonable, but Pork belly was soft on top (not crispy as menu stated) and clearly microwave reheated, finger lickin’ chicken also soggy and 2 mains arrived 10 minutes apart for a table of 2 and an empty restaurant.
Then kitchen closed at 7: 30. No wonder the place was empty.
From the street this is a hidden gem, always great food and service. I took my work team here and everyone was impressed!
Delicious food, friendly service, great atmosphere, cool pink cat on the wall. Would maybe benefit from some smaller share items on the menu.
Food was generously portioned and delicious.
Service prompt and very friendly.
Prices were fair and reasonable.
Location was easy to find and get to. Atmosphere and ambience were great.
Highly recommend and I'll definitely be returning.
Went here for the first as my my friend recommended it and didn’t disappoint. Thank you for the wonderful service, the wood was amazing so are the cocktails. The lady manager was so dedicated and professional. Will definitely gonna go back and recommend.
Excellent Japanese food and staff.
Salmon confit with a 600ml black Sapporo is way to go.
Food was 10/10! And the staff were very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend this place.
Came here on a recommendation after my partner went for a work lunch.
The dinner was overall okay, felt quite limited with their range. The staff were extremely friend and helpful when deciding on drinks. The drinks our group had were nice. Will be back, but probably for their lunch menu instead.
The food was amazing and a good selection of different dishes, staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions, and the website was easy to use and book through. Have been twice now and will be back.
The cocktails were amazing and the sashimi was fresh and delicious but the finger licking chicken was the star of the show. 10/10 recommend!
Service is absolutely atrocious, food is over rated and really not worth the wait. Taste is mediocre, the place is overhyped, I was drawn in by the street fighter theme which is reminiscent of my youth and was disappointed, its virtual presence is much more attractive than the actual place, kind of like a photo of a dish where it looks better than it tastes. Brought my family there and they wouldn’t serve non-alcoholic versions of their cocktails, not very kids-friendly. Definitely won’t return.
Great variety of food and cocktails! The volcano ramen is highly recommended if you like something spicy! All the staff were very friendly as well. Definitely will come back!
Staff was friendly, but the orders took forever to arrive and in a weird order: one person got all her orders while the other one was waiting for more than half an hour to get even one, then another 20 minutes for the second while the other person obviously had finished her dinner like an hour ago. They gave us 15% discount for this inconvenience which was a nice move customer service-wise, but still that waiting time was disappointing. Food was average-good. Might come back to give them a second chance.
Never tried before! Service was quick (great for a lunch meeting), friendly and everything we tried was great.finger licking chicken, Kingfish ceviche, pork gyuso.thank you
