L'Hermitage Restaurant / Allegro Pizza reviews
44One of my favourite restaurants in Australia. The pizzas are great and I’ve never had a better burger than the ones served at lunch time.
As you walk in the waiters are always lovely and are happy to help with everything. The entrees come relatively quickly and is extremely high quality (especially the garlic bread). Mains take a while depending on the numbers. Once you see the awesome waiters coming with your food, you will realise it is worth the wait as food of extreme high quality approaches you. Deserts are just as amazing as well as the entire restaurant. I always look forward to coming to this awesome place!
Such a shame - someone needs to manage and take over this restaurant, perhaps Gordon Ramsey should pay a visit. Will only go back after a major change.
We had a nice Carbonara Pasta and Garlic Toast. The food quality was decent. The quantity was large. There was a lot of toast for one order.
The fact that I had to wait and hour and a half for 2 pizzas, the regular was 24 dollars and was the size of my hand, would not recommend allegros anymore.
They used to be amazing.not anymore
Upon arriving I was greeted with a hot towel and directed to my very own table. Excellent staff and good chat overall. Food is mint.
Pizzas are really nice with the fresh dough. Better quality than other pizza places, but costs a lot extra for it.
Utterly atrocious. Waited an hour and a half for some pastas. Don’t accept a takeaway order if you can’t deliver it.
Good food, pizzas pasta and Italian food. Decor is a bit dated but you're there for the food.
Enjoyed a lovely musical soiree here recently organised by a local family whose son is an excellent piano player and his friend who is a very good singer. An afternoon and evening of impromptu performances around the baby grand which the owner of the establishment has put in his back room especially for the purpose. Lots of people with musical talent participated. The food and service was great as always. Another one is planned in the next few months.
Food was bloody good, its not fine dining but it is very tasty. I'd go back without a doubt. Not sure why but we were the only ones in there on a Wednesday night. Ambience was a little lacking. Unsurprisingly, being the only customer, service was prompt and food came to the table fast. Recommend.
I love coming here for dinner I've known the father & son for 15 and a half years. Beautiful place to come with the family.
Absolutely, hands down! The best pizza I've ever had. I am blown away. Well done Team! I will recommend all family and friends. Thank you
We found Allegro completely by accident when we were looking for another pizza place.
Our last minute decision to try it was one of the better choices I've made in my more than half a century gutsing down pizza.
The pizzas are magnificent! The anchovies are succulent, they use cream cheese on many of the toppings and they're visually appealing as well. You'll have to get one and see what I mean.
Head on in for the full experience (the venue is worth seeing) or order a delivery. You'll be doing yourself a favour. ️
My commendations to the owner and staff here! Been a return customer for at least 10 years and gotta say their customer service and food quality does not disappoint! Today I had two pizzas and they were generously topped, the crust was thin and crispy they way it should be, cannot recommend this pizza place enough, if you haven’t yet tried Allegros pizza, do yourself a favour next time your in the area and give them a go, you will not be disappointed!
I had a craving for a traditional style pizza so thought I’d try Aleggro. Had a look online at their lunch specials and ordered a large pizza.
Went in to pick it up and just after tapping my card I saw that the large pizza was $40!
I know that the cost of living has gone up recently, but come on. 40 bucks for a large pizza…….
Because the transaction had already gone through I took the pizza and departed. Opened it up in the car to see that this ‘large’ pizza was sliced into irregular sized pieces. Some wide and some as thin as 4cm.
I’d like to think for $40 they’d at least put a bit of effort into making/presenting it well.
So unless you’ve got some money to burn and are into abstract geometry, don’t bother.
Fantastic, great and traditional food experience! I live North of the river and use any excuse when I head towards the City to stop and have lunch at Allegro's!
Tough one this one. Got two pizzas from Uber eats menu.
Delivery was a shocker with the driver going to the wrong entrance after providing the correct information on the order.
Dropped it 4 mtrs from me in the end (covid rule so fair enough) but only 1 box arrived. I was waiting for the other but he took off.
I sat for a moment and decided to get the box when I noticed on the box in pencil that there was two pizzas inside. Who the hell puts two pizzas in one box?
Took the box to our room and on opening found two small pizzas that were overcooked and burnt on top.
I'm sorry your standards are poor and you need to lift your game.
I cannot recommend this place at all. They should remove the gourmet from the box and replace it with burnt offerings.
We came here with great expectation and excitement to try traditional italian food but unfortunately we left disappointed.
On arrival, we just couldn't get served, we walked in to the restaurant and stood at the cashier are for like 7-8 mins and no-one helped us.
We just walked in and found a table for ourselves.
Then we couldn't get served to order drinks. There were no staff.
We eventually managed to find someone, and ordered drinks and again took sooooo long, the wine came out, no ice bucket available. They forgot the kids drinks and had to remind them again.
We ordered brushetta, it arrived with no topping? Wot the
We sent it back and this time it arrived correctly and it was nice.
The family pizza was $38 and to be honest it was just ok. Every slice was a different size, from like 15cm wide to as small as 5 cm?
The place reminded me of the Ramsey restaurant nightmares tv show.
They need some serious help here or they're going to go under.
Last time I was there pizzas were made in advance?
Must have pizza done on demand in oven
