La Veen Coffee - Heritage reviews
55I did a job trial at this cafe and left feeling very upset by the way I was treated by the owner and most of the staff members, and shocked by the lack of cleanliness in the kitchen area. The owner was rude, unwelcoming and very cold mannered. The staff also behaved very unkindly and made me want to leave as soon as I arrived. The cleanliness of the place behind the scenes was disappointing. There were dirty dishes stacked so high that no more could fit on the shelves and the smell was vile. None of the staff washed their hands upon beginning their shift which is disgusting and one waitress was even sneezing and coughing over the food before it was served. Definitely will not be dining at La Veen and have recommended everyone I know to avoid it at all costs. Disgusting cafe with awful staff.
Tasty bacon, decent poached eggs, lovely chai latte.
Friendly staff, definitely the highlight.
$25 for the traditional breakfast plate, likely to spend ~$20 per person on food.
Rosti is just ok, ham and cheese croissant is decent, hotcake and waffles are ok, hot chocolate is good, good atmosphere, fast service, price is just ok
Fantastic coffee and excellent service. Close to the best espresso I've had in Perth. Do yourself a favour and PLEASE stop in here.
The waiting staff was really not professional. Didn’t confirm our orders. Served wrong food and accused me ordered wrong. Very bad service.
Amazing service, great location and I love the decor. It has wood interior and a high counter making it feel like a tiny pub/cafe from old Aussie times. The food was ok, I wasn't a fan of my potato roti and I found it a bit bland and soggy with the smashed avo on top but the eggs were cooked beautifully. The salmon didn't go well with the flavour combos so perhaps go for the bacon or mushrooms.
The big brekkie was pretty standard and filling for the boyfriend and the hummus/thahini with cucumber tasted nice but would be more appropriate as an Aperitif than for brekkie.
The iced chai latte, juice and coffee were all delicious! The almond cronut was also a winner. I'd come back for a a pastry and drink but maybe not brekkie.
Beautifully balanced dishes at this cafe, had the waffles and OMG! I'll let the photo speak for itself.
Don't let you swap out food items on the menu even if they are at a lower price. I wanted bacon instead of salmon as I can't eat smoked salmon and they couldn't do that. Unheard of! They said I would have to pay extra for the bacon even if they took out the salmon. What? ! Skip this one and go somewhere where you are valued as a customer.
Nice spot opposite yagan square. Matcha latte wasn’t strong enough and was more brown than green. Might be left outside for a while and left to oxidise. Service was alright. Not fab. But overall nice spot to hang with friends in the city. Alfresco area on main patio and king street. Indoors have nooks if you wanna do some reading. Acoustics are challenging when there’s a crowd though. Food range is decent, average $6-7 per item.
One of the best coffees I have ever had. Highly recommend. This Cafe is run to a very high standard.
I had the smash avo with poached egg which was really tasty. Iced mocha was also really delicious. The best thing about it was the ice cream. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough of it!
I had Avo smash & iced matcha.
It was AMAZING!
Iced matcha was the best matcha latte ever.
Avo smash was fresh and yummy.
It went well with beetroot.
I’d like to visit again for sure.
Absolutely rude staff.
I said hi as soon as i got in the place and she asked me if i’m ready to order and i said not yet cuz i kept looking at the menu then she said that then why did you say hi to me. Seriously? Is it the rule that I have to say Hello only when I finish to get ready to order?
I didn’t take a picture of coffee but it looked like she didn’t put any effort into making it compared to other coffees were being served next to my table.
I will never visit again.
Busy cafe with modern Korean influenced food. It’s a lovely place to meet with friends and have brunch and catch-up. The building is interesting.
Was really excited to try this place given the ratings and am a huge fan of quaint little cafes. Was really disappointed and underwhelmed. My husbands coffee tasted like luke warm milk. Low quality recyclable straws use which disintegrated very quickly. Limited range of foods. Average at best.
