Overpriced. No heating.little power. Shared bathrooms were disgustingly dirty and the chances of getting fungi in the showers would be high.

Overall a great place, our site was quite small but we do have a big set up so not their fault.
Gets VERY cold at night so definitely take lots of layers!

Short walk through the retreat to joffre lookout and the gorge trail which was beautiful.

Couldn't get in to the restaurant for dinner as it was fully booked (bit of confusion as we were told over the phone, since covid you couldn't book until check-in but when we got there we were told you had to pre-book?) so we were disappointed but luckily the takeaway burger bar was amazing! As were the jugs of sangria
Staff were all really friendly and helpful. They have a sign apologising for short staff and wait times but the service was great!

Hang on, this is going to be a long one!

The eco tent (we had the family tent with ensuite) was comfortable and clean (well, as clean as can be with red dirt everywhere), but it got freezing overnight and there were minimal blankets. The hot water bottles they provide were lukewarm by midnight and we had filled them at dinner. We had to sleep in our coats one night. I am sure it is hard to launder such big items like that in a remote location, but something has to be figured out. Absolutely glad we had the attached toilet and shower.
You can't beat the location. Walking distance to one gorge. Dingoes howling at night under the stars. Back "deck" sunsets. Good distance between tents for privacy.
Now. The staff, bless 'em. They are all traveling young adults, but some had no idea about waiting tables leaving us nearly missing out on food as the kitchen closed. They were all very sweet though.
The worst part though. Two nights saw APT and another tour come through. Both times meant that the regular folks staying had to have a one option menu (pasta once and curry the other time) despite the tour group getting a full menu of the barramundi (which was great) all the other options. Now we believed it the first time that a chef was out, but the second time it was clear they could not handle the tour and regular patrons. With nowhere else (literally) to eat, this is simply not good enough at $400+ a night. I would ask if any tours are incoming during your stay.
The area is one not to miss.

The location is stunning and the team are super friendly. They do a great job at keeping the atmosphere relaxed whilst catering to a range of guests; from families to couples. The food at the restaurant is also great.

We loved our stay; waking up in the centre of the park and being able to watch the sun rise over the stunning landscape.

It is a stunning location and a truly memorable experience but…there is no heating and we had hot showers for first 4 nights but 2 overcast days meant they were cold for final 2 nights. They are solar and it is the outback. There was an esky and ice at $10 a bag so we could have brought more food in had we known. The shower alcove had no curtain so floor got wet. A floor mat to step out on would be good. The shower floors are scratched and have red dirt ingrained. They need replacing with stainless steel as do the vanity basins. Replacing the extra white blankets with the brown ones like in the restaurant would be good. The “white” red stained ones are heavy and not as warm as the brown ones and look dirty. The restaurant was lovely but book early as tour groups can take all available spaces. These are things for management to consider when up grading or replacing. We are glad we didn’t have a caravan to bring in because the last 3 km in was very rough. Glad we were in a hilux with off-road tyres. The roads to the gorges were 4WD but you could drive in normal car if you crawled. The views once you get there are spectacular and jaw dropping and there are many walks to do. We are 75+ so the class 3 suited us. We did manage the ladders at Joffre though. We are so glad we came and it is a majestic place and not to be missed.

The resort was lacking in communication especially with impending storms. We had to rely on other campers for current information. The lack of cleanliness in the ammenities was disappointing and of concern given that we never saw them cleaned in the three days that we were there. The road in and out was very rutted with many large potholes. We left early as were were worried about getting out with our caravan as storms were approaching. I was very disappointed would have trouble recommending the resort in its current state.

If it hadn't rain during our stay we would have enjoyed it much more. Cold showers weren't great with cold weather. The food was reasonable but ordinary breakfast.

Ideally located near fabulous gorges. Weano and Hancock gorges were brilliant. I camped and the scenery was terrific. Meals at the restaurant were good too.

Great staff, Great location, Good food, only hot shower in the park.
I've been heading there for 15 years. My only issue is the 3km unsealed road leading to the retreat is the worse stretch of road of the whole park, that's taking into consideration the 4wd only track as well! It's been the same for 15 years!:/

Great stay at the Karijini Eco Retreat, where we stayed at the Luxury Tents. Made the whole experience much smoother with breakfast and lunch accounted for. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Getting to the retreat requires going over a bit of rough unsealed road. Dinner is a bit expensive, but understandable given the remoteness.

Overall very happy and the gorges are definitely worth making the trip for!

Hard place to get to but worth it. Gorges are the highlight not the accommodation as service ordinary tents OK deluxe versions very expensive and budget cabins awful.

For the price of c. $450 per night - I would like them to spend a bit more on really simple things like hot water, which could be powered by EV solar panels rather than just the solar water heaters.

They need a place for you to be able to eat after cooking on the BBQ- otherwise you can be stuck in the rain if the weather isn't great.or be forced to a fairly expensive restaurant (for the food quality).

Put some awnings over the glamping tents, rather than shade cloth.the water dripped through on to my pillow over thr nights I was there.

Other 'eco resorts' in similarly far away places can offer much better facilities at less than half the price of Karijini.

Nice place to visit, but the $ charged does not add up for what you get.

Three stars because of the price - staff were nice, great location etc

Karijini national park was amazing BUT the eco retreat was terrible!

I booked for two nights for 2 adults and 2 children to stay in a powered eco tent with en-suite bathroom.

When we arrived they tried to charge us an extra $40 per child which I argued I’d already booked for the kids and they magically found out that the kids were included in our original price. We were then told we couldn’t have dinner as we hadn’t booked in advance (we arrived at 4: 30pm) we were then told we could order a burger each for $20 but they had no sides of chips or anything at all.

Breakfast was “included” in our package BUT only included toast or cereal and if you wanted anything else like eggs or bacon then you had to pay for it.

We booked dinner for the second night and when we arrived they told us we had to eat fast as they had another booking for our table.

We ordered Exmouth prawns as a starter ($40) and they came out warm and mushy like mash potatoes in a shell and we couldn’t eat them but still had to pay. The rest of our food had no flavour at all and was hard to swallow. For 4 small meals and a nonalcoholic drink each it came to $180.

The staff were rude and acted like they didn’t want to work there or they were just completely over their jobs.

Also the ensuite bathroom had no roof and the walls were only shoulder height so people can see you shower and use the toilet and the one power plug we had in our bedroom didn’t work.

All up I found the Karijini eco retreat very disappointing and extremely overpriced for what it actually is.

We will return to Karijini as we had a great time exploring but we definitely won’t be staying at the retreat again.

Value for money simply not there. Stayed in a cabin that was poorly finished, barely cleaned and simply not up to scratch. We stayed here for a little bit of relief from camper van-ing and noticed a dirty band aid and some dodgy wiring that had simply been taped over. Save your money.

We stayed in the campsite area for 6 nights and everything was satisfactory. Camp kitchen had BBQ, propane gas stove and kitchen sink. Best to ask for a campsite on the edge of the facility for less crowding and if you are lucky a few campsites have a tree

Such a stunning place, gorges, swimming, hiking, great food & service at restaurant. Everyone should come here at least once. Can either camp, caravan, motor home or eco tent.

Really nice place and peaceful, good experience there is natural pool 10 minutes walk from the camp. We had good diner at the restaurant, not many choices for the menu but its tasty. Just we had our zip for the door of our tente to access at the bathroom was broken so many mosquitoes and flies can get in the tente.for the price of the night you should fix it.

This is one of the nicest stays in a national park. The park is beautiful, the accommodation is reslly nice, the restaurant is great. But book when you book your accommodation. They can only accommodate so many people. All of the staff are lively aswell.

Highly recommended

Friendly staff, so peaceful, amazing scenery, would recommend checking what gorges are open nearby if you go in the low season.
