Kailis Fish Market Cafe reviews
68The seafood is fresh. The prices are a bit high but the experience is great. I hate these seagulls - they managed to steal my prawns when my husband turned his eyes away for 5 seconds.
Overpriced. Seafood chowder, chilli mussels and tartar sauce were the best things here. If we ever came back, these will be the only things we got. Fish n chips was tasteless, soggy wasn't fresh. The grilled fish was fresher but nothing amazing.
Great food at a decent price.great flavors but don't forget the chicken salt! Sitting outside is great for people and seagull watching.
Good food: plenty of options: ;great service ; great location ;, fair price: parking can be hard to find
($2: 20p/h) but short walk is ok worth the drive from northern suburbs
For the price you pay, you get a lot of food. Everything that we ordered was bland, ended up putting heaps of salt to flavour the food.
It was sad that they didn't update their status online we drove all the way and it was closed and online says open. I'm not going there again.
I was very disappointed on how the food was served and when I ask the staff for recommendations they couldn't give me an answer for the amount of money I spent I could have eaten in a nice restaurant the food was good quality though
The battered fish was very good and the grilled fish was good although some in our group said the grilled fish had too much pepper and other flavouring. The chips on this occasion were average. Service was prompt
Cheap white fish sold at snapper prices. Tasted awful. Sad squid rings. Very small portion. Wont be going back. Very disappointed.
Good fish and chips restaurant, best in port. It has become better since last time I was here compared to other options in the neighborhood. At peak times it may be full and extremely noisy, so then it's better to eat outside with a view of the port and fishing vessels.
Tourist prices and an underwhelming meal really don't warrant any more than one star. We were served dry fish, undercooked chips and the squid rings were awful (pale, soggy batter but dry and chewy squid inside) - really not worth the price, we were disappointed.
Average service gave the wrong number so we had to wait about an hour for the fish after realising they gave the wrong number when we went up there was no apology or remorse she tried to tell us we were wrong our ticket wasnt even put to be made first
Nice view of the harbour area with average food. Watch out for out for the seagulls though they tend to respect your personal space.
The whole place is totally crowded. But restrooms are provided and clean.
We had pre-ordered meal of Fish and chips, ice cream and fries.
As I always prefer savoury and spicy food, I found the meal tasteless and bland.
However, Kailis has been recognised and boasted having the best Fish and Chips.
One's meat can be another's poison.
Not very good service when I came. I was waiting more than 5 minutes at the ice-cream counter, the woman could obviously See Me waiting but ignored? So we left.
Fresh Seafood and absolutely delish! Very busy but food is out within 15 mins. Love the choice of either fresh seafood.or good old fried fish + chips. There is also a bar + desserts available. Definitely worth a visit when in Freemantle
There's quite a range of options available at the fish market (e.g. Lobster, mussels, squids, fishes, tiger prawns, etc.) that you may choose from.
Personal recommendations:
1. BBQ Mediterranean Squid
2. WA Lobster (can't remember the name but it's the one with cheese layering on top)
The regular fish and chips are good, but the section at the back does some amazing stuff, the fish kebabs are especially great!
Seafood chowder is prob restricted to fish n potato; grilled fish fillet tasted bland.stdd has dropped as comparrd to 2yrs+ back. Grilled medit sotong/octopus was good though.
Awesome fish and chip. I could eat it all day if this was the only thing I could eat. Checked with chef, it's halal. No beer batter. However I had to give one star less because the drink, mineral water was AUD 3.7! That's the most expensive mineral water ever bought in life. They sell the same at Cole's for 99 cent.
If you're traveling cheap, bring your own water.
