Kabalason Indian Cafe & Restaurant reviews
37What a mistake, I have never eaten food as bad as this, I didn't even finish it. Watery slop is how I would describe it, with a little what looked like old chicken in it. Won't be going there ever again and I used to go there twice a week when it first opened and I did this for atleast 7 years. It takes alot for me to give a negative review but I feel like I've been robbed of $71.00
Sorry to give 1 star but honestly the place really was not great. The food was an hour wait and was so spicy we couldn't eat it although we ordered mild. We were the only people in restaurant even the waitress left us. Was $178 for 3 curries with bread and 2 beers. The place felt like it had lost its passion. Even when ask for take away container we were initially given a used one.
Sorry to say absolutely waste of money. We didn’t like even a single dish. It’s in a very good location but food is awful. Everyone had tummy ache after the food.
VERY BAD ordered Tandoori Chicken got home they gave something else and rang them about it they said they did not have any Tandoori chicken so gave me some rubbish replacement. The my order of chicken vindaloo was given another curry without telling me horrible tika chicken curry. Rang them why did they do this and said they choose another item for us as they ran out of what we ordered. When I went back he asked me to take my mask off to see my face as I complained about this. Making me feel like it was my fault. Very bad man who is the chef and owner. This is just unacceptable.
If I could give less stars I personally would
Very bad food
Rude staff
Never again
Food is good but you guys really need to change the dosa prices. The masala dosa is $17 and the plain dosa is $17. Is this reasonable at all?
Not a good experience, when i orderded online, they took forever to cook my meal, excuess was tandoor needs to heat it up (9: 30pm) on friday night, what do you expect: (
Customer service was below average. They made me pay by card because they didn’t have change. I ordered butter chicken and it was like licking a salt cube. Ridiculously priced for below average food and service.
We ordered for dinner tonight and the chicken tandoori was sooooo salty like it been marinated for so long:/
I’ve eaten here a couple of times. Nice food but appalling service. My husband picked up an order of c
hicken byriani this evening but it certainly was not byriani as per their menu pictures and my usual byriani meals. What we got was wet slop with no byriani flavour, it was Tika masala mixed with rice. When I complained I was told byriani can be wet (not what was pictured in their menu). I am married to an Indian therefore all my In-laws are from India. What I objected to was the arrogant attitude and argumentative nature eventually resulting in the phone being put down on me. I know Indian food, give it a miss if you want authentic Indian food.
REALLY slow service! So dont be in a hurry
Really good food, but ridiculously expensive. $140 bucks for 2 mains, 2 drinks, and 1 entree, 2 naan. As as good the authentic food was, not worth the cost. And we eat out a lot.
Get a grip $6 bucks for a tablespoon of mango chutney which I can buy at a supermarket for an entire jar of processed, which tastes the same, just do better people
Nice friendly service in a quite empty restaurant. The food was ok but certainly not great, however it was good value.would I go there again, probably not.
This place is hit and miss. Occasionally wonderful, regularly ok, occasionally terrible. Dining in the food seems good but take away is suspect. On a good night it scores 5 but usually 2 or 3. Pity because their best is very good!
I wish I could give all 5 stars! But I am super disappointed.
Food is amazing, hands down!
But hospitality in general suck to the core! Folks, if you're reading this understand, A smile won't kill you!
Mr. Bala you need to chill the F down.
That restaurant got unlimited potential but this disgusting attitude is killing the vibe!
Wait time is really long.but food was amazing. We ordered Lamb dosa and was really filling and tasty.
We got takeaway and just ordered from the starters menu. Will definitely be back to try other items off the menu. Food was fresh and delicious. Took a little while, around 30-40mins, to be ready but was worth the wait and I'd factor this in next time.
The grocery store next door was really cool to browse while we were waiting too.
We accidentally ended up finding this place and it turned out to be a gem. The portion size is really great and they have some authentic South Indian dishes and dosas were good.
Good customer service and great food. It's hard to find good Indian food and it seems this place is a good one to try. The food we bought didn't have the oily feel you usually get from food so that was good. We ordered dosas and bhatura with Chana. All of it was good. Standard pricing as other restaurants.
I eat Dosa here. I love this cafe. Recommended to everyone who wants to eat tasty Indian food.
Kabalason has been in business for the last 20years or so. The food is always authentic and very tasty. Service is slow so you definitely need to be patient but its definately worth the wait. Our favourite is Dhosa and goat curry.
