My favourite Italian restaurant. The Wood fired garlic bread is so good and the scotch fillet with pepper sauce is hands down the best I've ever had. I took some Italian friends there last night and they agreed with me the food and drinks are the best in town. The staff are always helpful and friendly. Every time I've been to il Ciao it's always full so you know it's always a good sign when you see that. I'll be back again next week.

Our all time favourite restaurant which we have visited regularly for over 22 years. The hospitality makes it like visiting family and the food is great.

Absolutely terrifying experience. Staff are terrible, not in a mood to serve. I have been here 2 times even out of my convenience. Now, will not do same mistake again.food taste terrible and overpriced. Will never recommened anyone to visit this place. Clearly visible no one cares of the company. God knows how it get 4+ stars with this type of customer service and food.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Perth, not just Applecross. Family business, being there over two decades and getting only better and better. Fantastic and friendly atmosphere, generous and welcoming staff members, every dish is a masterpiece and the music.well, ask for Zuccerro and you get the ultimate treat!

Always been a long term favourite of mine as the owners are so lovely and the food is always consistently delicious.

I was recently diagnosed coeliac so I was very excited to trial out the gluten free options available.

All pastas can be made gluten free. The actual pasta wasnt the best GF pasta ive had in perth but also was not the worst. The actual sauce was DELICIOUS however!

They can also do some of the entrees GF if you ask (we had the calamari)

It was almost a FIVE but the waiter who bagged my food was a miss. He packed my food in a brown bag seeing I was alone and with a baby and a bag en tow and then pizza was in a bad foil packaging. Loved the owner/manager though who thought otherwise and gave me a carry bag to liggten the load. Food was great. The creamy Fussili was so yummy and so saucy which I loved and the pizza Toscana I think, was yum with cherry! Definitely worth a visit too. ️

Well looked after, honest good food. Waitress came back to make sure my daughter really wanted all that chilli. Recommendable.

27 years and never a bad meal.until tonight. Couldn't eat even half of the chicken dish I ordered, it was simply too dry to swallow. Made it known to the waitress and was told "well, it could have been something worse". Asked (twice) that she make my feedback known, to which she assured me she would. Whether she did it did not, nothing was done about it. Very poor.

Terrible. Phoned to check availability and was told it would be fine to go and we'd get a table. Got there and was advised there is a minimum 45 min wait.

Staff admitted that the owners deliberately don't tell people over the phone so that you go anyway and wait.

If you're at full capacity and there's a wait, just be honest and we'll come back another time.

But to BS us and waste our time when we have young children, you won't see us again.

Average food and Poor Service, the waiter that greeted us and handled our bill was monotone and showed no sign of hospitality. The decor and ambience inside is very nice however

Ate at Il Ciao. Tonight. First time in about 4 years after previous bad experience. Will never ever go back. Don't understand how it get 4+stars. My pizza (Quattro) was tasteless. The artichoke was absolutely watery and tasteless same with the green peppers which I originally did not recognise thought they were boiled beans.tasted as if they had been steamed. Tomato base had no flavour at all. I ate two mouthfuls and left the rest. My partner's parmigiana again had no flavour at all. Tasteless. No tomato sauce to speak of At all. We spoke to the manager. He was indifferent. Didn't ask us why we didn't like the meal. Just shrugged. Absolutely awful customer service. Would not recommend any way. Across the road is a far superior place to spend your money especially if you're wanting a proper parmigiana.

Spent ages tonight posting review only to find it blocked out before processing. Won't go into detail in case lose message again. Glenelg St order, rubbish. Soaghe5 carbonara shocking. Four miss ks. One small calamari. No other sea food. Worth about $2. Paid $25! Rip off.

This is a great Italian restaurant that has been consistently good for many years. The food is of high quality with most meals having a large serving size. Food prices are high but the restaurant is BYO so overall it is great value. Service is great and the venue has a great atmosphere. My main complaint would be that you cannot book for small groups which means a 15 minute wait for a table on busy nights.

Delicious genuine italian pizza just like it’s made in parts of Italy. Friendly italian service just like in a friendly italian restaurant in Italy.
It’s really busy on weekends & still u get smiles with genuine friendly service.
The food …. Like in Italy, please enjoy.

Great service and food. A great serving size also. I love the choices and the small but appropriate wines on offer. First time country visitor but will be back.

Great friendly competent service. Well cooked authentic pasta and pizza. Very busy but worth the wait for a table if necessary.
Bookings for 8 or more only.

We had an early Mother’s Day dinner at il ciao. I was personally very disappointed with my chargrilled chicken - which was literally a dry bag of bones. More bones than meat. It was ~$30 for two dry small pieces of chicken with no sides with it. Just 2 bits of chicken on a plate.
The others meals were certainly ‘ok’ but we won’t be coming back.
When I paid the bill I told the server about my chicken and he didn’t care!

So disappointing standards have dropped. My lasagne was so tasteless- lumps of mince & limp pasta thrown together no cheese - not even oven baked. A good lasagne dish surely a litmus test for any restaurant calling itself Italian. Person at reception was curt & rude when I asked about available spots. They've lost their personal touch- more like mass production!
