Six of us enjoyed a great night out at Il Ciao on Saturday.the new owner greeted us warmly and our waiter was superb, and nothing was too much trouble. The garlic bread was buttery and crisp around the edges. We all ordered the pasta dishes and my Arrabiata Penne was perfect. Our other friends enjoyed their meals. Prices are very reasonable and huge portions.
The owner offered us complimentary Rockie Road which was very generous of her. The ambience is great, very Italian with a mural of Florence, a fountain and other pieces. Well be making Il Ciao our go to restaurant from now on.

Just had my dinner here. Love their food. Best thing is that it is still same. Came in with doubt as this was my favorite restaurant earlier and since I was away this was my first visit since lovely new owners took it over. Thanks guys for keeping it the same as earlier. You guys are doing good job there. We will be back soon.

Poor communication skills between team. We called the restaurant to want to make a reservation for a birthday dinner and the man on the phone said we did not need to. He specified it wouldn't be busy and we could just walk in. Once we got there, they said they were fully booked and very busy (wait time 15-45 minutes). The lady at the counter was making excuses saying its under new management. Not good enough and a complete waste of our time.

Wait staff were friendly and helpful. Atmosphere nice - very busy. But food was not good. Seafood spaghetti - spaghetti overcooked, frozen seafood used, little taste, and took nearly 40 minutes to come out.

We were in 7. Two set of cutlery were dirty, that’s ok, it can happen…
I ordered a Gluten free pasta specifying I am allergic to gluten and if they had something safe to had. The waiter said that pasta was fine instead I’ve got glutened.

From NZ and some friends took us to this fantastic restaurant. What can I say - amazing food and service. Gets busy and you know why! A total top spot to have brilliant Italian food (wow amazing portions guys) and all at great value pricing. We’ll be back. Big thanks.

I would recommend going to this restaurant. Excellent service, gourmet, and fresh food. And more importantly, friendly staff. I think this restaurant has run smoothly from my experience. I applaud for the success that the Perruzza Family has done to run this restaurant as a family, terrific effort! Hence, I definitely would recommend dining in this restaurant for future occasions.

Arrived at 6pm on a Saturday evening and there was a 40 minutes wait for a table for 6. No issues on the waiting time as it’s expected of on a weekend.

Had a Tasting Platter, Penne Al Vodka and a Capricciosa (to share). The Tasting Platter was served shortly after ordering and it was delightful. The Penne Al Vodka however, was somewhat of a letdown. The taste was good granted, but the penne was slightly overcooked. My sister’s Ravioli was also overcooked, but as we had a long day at Rottnest we were famished.

Heard great things of Il Ciao prior to my visit, but overcooked pasted can hardly be tolerated, especially in an Italian restaurant.

Food was fantastic, and service staff were friendly. Were thoughtful and brought ice bucket for our B. Y. O.wine bottle without us requesting and also don't charge corkage even though they sell alcohol. The seating was a bit crammed but cosy. Overall a good experience with good food, and the owners were very friendly and hospitable.

Rob and Sar are always friendly and welcoming. The food and atmosphere is great. I try the veal parmigiana at every Italian restaurant I go to around the globe, and none are better than Il Caio's Cotaletta Parmigiana especially with the side of Spaghetti Bolognese.

I'd like to thank Il Ciao for making my wife's birthday celebration a success. We were a party of 16 and the wait staff were fabulous, catering to our every need. All the food was excellent and we had a great night. Thankyou.

While dining at il ciao i had taken the time to ask myself what does it mean, "il ciao" in its most direct translations means "the hello" and at first i didnt understand. However diving a little deeper it only took a small amount of time to learn that il ciao is not only a restaurant for delicious and authentic meals. But a home for those in need of welcoming. From the moment you arrive you can see the connections built between the customers and the hard working staff. Everyones important. When talking to what i believe to be the owner he said "people come here because they know they'll have someone to listen. Someone to talk to and someone to feed them" and with this food for thought, i realised to myself perhaps every meal could be a home cooked meal when you feel as welcome as when you enter il ciao. Thanks for the experience more so thanks for "the hello. "

Service was good, but the food was terrible.
I took my sister here for her birthday a few days ago and was appalled by the quality of the food we were served. I ordered the parmigiana that comes with a side of spaghetti, and when it was brought out, the chicken of the parmigiana was hardly warm and quite chewy and the spaghetti was stone cold and I mean completely cold, inedible. For a bill over $100, I am not happy at all. The place wasn't busy, they had just opened, I would understand if the place was packed and the kitchen was running behind but it just wasn't the case. Really really disappointed and unhappy, especially after hearing such nice things about this restaurant.

Very welcoming, yes it’s busy and you might have to queue, but delicious food and worth the wait.

I really want to say good things about this place as it's our local and we love Italian food but sadly we've been disappointed far too many times.

The food is fine when you're able to get a table and dine in however ordering take away is virtually impossible as no one answers the phone. We've tried ringing repeatedly on weeknights and weekends and it's always the same - no answer or engaged.

The in dining experience is ok if you don't mind loud, casual and crowded however most of the staff are inattentive including the lady at the front counter who you'd think would be setting an example to the younger staff.

The only exception to this is a young man who we had as our waiter. Don't know his name but he's very articulate and well informed with the menu. I do hope he's recognised for his effort by management.

Worst Italian food. Pasta was watery and tasteless. To top it off the meatballs were complete mush, 99% sure was frozen not fresh made.

Would not recommend, have had better Italian elsewhere. Food was hit and miss.quite greasy and old fashioned, toilets were filthy and parking is a disaster!

We did a walk in despite a packed restaurant and there was seating for us. The food was really nice. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Will come back again.

We have been eating here for over 20 years. The food is delicious and not too expensive. It can be loud inside because it's always full and they are busy

Not my cup of tea, way to busy, way to noisy, disorganised, average, don't take reservations only for 6 people or more, waiting times 50 minutes, uncomfortable chairs, hardly space to move, hubby went to rest room absolutely filthy toilets - make way to much money requires an upgrade bigger premises and reservation service. To few waiters, could hardly get their attention. Food average.
