*WARNING*

Do not use Homebuyers Centre to build your dream house.

The quality of work is very very poor, don’t be fooled by display homes, they build them to complete different standards.

From day one we were lied to.
We were given a completion date of June.
When we rang on June, they told us no we never said June, even though there was an email confirming completion day in June.

They gave us a new date for end of August.
August came, still not completed, they somehow went ahead and asked us to have PCI meeting even though there were at least 20 major problems with the house.

They told us once the final payment goes through within a week we will fix everything.

3 weeks later after they received the final payment nothing has been fixed.
The few items they claim they have fixed are very poorly fixed.

We have taken annual leave, organise furniture removals but we can’t get the keys. No one answers our calls or emails.

Very dissatisfied customer!

We built our first home right in the middle of the recent boom, from the get go, we had such a brilliant experience, Derek, our sales consultant was upfront and extremely helpful and made everything possible with the requirements we had.

The building process was trouble free, there was a bit of a hiccup to get the slab down which was no fault of the builder however afterwards it was just seamless.

Have to mention Steve, our site supervisor who was brilliant with the communication process and extremely helpful and informative throughout it all.

The only criticism if anything was that the progress email was slightly delayed but everything else was handled extremely efficiently and professionally.

Thank you Homebuyers Centre!

Insurers detected leaks around both showers. I'd built with Homebuyers Centre and lived in the house for 7 years, however when I contacted them, they said the issue is only covered for 6 years. If you go with these guys, I'd advise to pay for an independent inspector to detect leaks after 2 years because the workmanship in my case appears poor. I'm going to be out of pocket for 10s of thousands to gut, re-water-proof and redo the bathrooms.

Went with son to do his pre-construction consultation, young lady was extremely helpful, although the process was lengthy the final result was all changes were achieved.

Homebuyers have been great, from start to finish. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to build. My property has been built to a high standard, and everything i had questions about, they answered or arranged someone to come have a look if i was concerned. Big Shout out to Robyn, she has been great and really understanding. Thank you again!

Great Company, genuine people and perfect first home.thank you Homebuyers!

A company is as good as its people.this perfectly relates to Homebuyers.

As a first home owner specialist, they were spot on with their work with us throughout.

Darren Joseph, the sales consultant was the primary reason we went with Homebuyers as I instantly felt the ease and comfort to share my thoughts and ideas for the new home. As a first home owner there were countless areas where we felt nervous, not sure and clueless on what to do and how to approach things.
Darren made it so easy for us during our build journey and I am so greatful he did.never thought home building would be so joyful and fun.thank you Darren Joseph, you are an asset to homebuyer centre.

We are currently in Practical Completion stage with and set to have our New Home Presentation tomorrow and Key handover after two weeks.
Seeing our home complete now gives an immense feeling of satisfaction, dream come true and being connected wit this home which also seems a part of family now having been with it for close to 6-7 months.

The pre-sales, pre-start, construction and all relevant stages were smooth and satisfying.all the people whome we worked with or were assigned to us were thorouh professionals.

Darren Joseph from sales, Jo Cunningham (our pre start co-ordinator - thank you Jo, you made it so easy and relaxing for us to choose and select the right things for our home.its looks awesome!) Rebecca our previous client liason, Ruth Fentum our current client liason - you both have been so easy to work with, thank you for putting up with my countless (and often weird) questions. Micahel our previous site supervisor and Luke Colli our current site supervisor - thank you for the awesome worksman ship and professional finish of the house - this would not have been possible without your help.and last but not the least - a big! Thank you to the entire Homebuyers Team involved in every step we had.it has been a pleasure to work with and build our first home with you all. The journey was worth it.

As always, there were a few hiccups and minor issues - but due the great support, this was all resolved in no time.

I was promised when i signed the contract that homebuyers would do the best to complete construction by mid-end of November and I must say - they have kept their promise (thumbs up:)

for any one wanting to build there first home - I highly recommend Homebuyers Centre (and Darren Joseph.i am sure other sales consultant must be good too)

I was told - Homebyers are not the cheapest but they are okay with that and the quality/cost would show in the finish. This is true in my case.
The cost of building my home was slightly above my budget but I am very happy with the finish.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience.many thanks

Ashish, Deepika and little Lavanya.

I once worked for Homebuyers as a contractor, so I have a good insight into how this builder and their trades conduct their on site operations. I also built my home with this builder, being registered as a contractor for ABN group I was offered a discount that was the deciding factor in choosing them to build my home.

I deeply regret that decision.

The quality of workmanship in my home was mostly terrible, right from the design our house was doomed (according to a well regarded qualified engineer and building inspector). The roof had multiple sheets replaced due to extremely poor fitting, I was on site in my work clothes when it was being installed and the installers were feral, I witnessed them damage the gutter and it wasn’t until I demanded the builder sort it out that it was dealt with. Still, to this day when looking at our roof and the next door neighbours roof (same builder) they are complete opposites in terms of quality.

Brickwork is horrible, the face brick in the garage is not what we chose in our prestart and selection meetings, the walls are so far out of plumb in some areas that vertical shelving units (which are erected level) are hard against the wall at the top/bottom and up to 40mm off the same wall on the opposite end. We had the bricklayer pull down and redo a stand alone pillar in our front portico but it’s still not square which is evident by the tile wedges in the paving making it very obvious.

I have found approximately 8 floor tiles with so little glue beneath them that they make a hollow drummy sound when tapped or knocked, many of these have since cracked.

Our front door locks failed after 2 years, we barely even used the front door because our home is rear access.even the door itself fails to keep weather out, on a windy day rain comes through the gap on the hinged side. The 335 we paid to have the door stained and sealed has worn off after 4 years, most likely because it was never sealed.

Talking about doors, our rear garage entry doorframe was never fixed properly to the walls, the entire doorframe moves 20mm each way and if it slams shut from the wind plaster in the reveals falls out exposing brickwork. We had them return to fix this but clearly they didn’t do it properly.

Some of the doors do not fit in the frames properly, one door is too big and in the winter it swells just enough so we can’t close it. Even our toilet door sits 30mm short of the frame at the top. Originally none of the doors had been painted on their tops, we had to get them back to do that and even so it was a quick one coat and get out job.

Settlement cracks are prevalent throughout the home, cornice has detached from the wall in some areas up to 5mm and in others the cornice itself has cracked right through. There are many structural cracks caused by poor design and poor execution of the brickwork (failing to tie in properly etc)

The list of defects, often not realised until 6-12 months into living at the home, is extensive. Some of it is even natural/typical but our communications with the builder and the rigidity of their multi-step complaints and maintenance processes makes getting the repairs done difficult, time consuming and more stressful than my wife and I care to deal with. So here’s a scathing review.

———————————————————————

My experiences working as a tradesman, later as a consultant and expert witness, and after building my own home, has provided me with one invaluable insight; Builders do not build homes, tradesman do. In most cases regarding “project” builders the “supervisor” in charge of coordinating the construction of your home are barely qualified and certainly not passionate about delivering you the best product they can. They are effectively just schedulers, they schedule trades in one after the other and if the job looks good to their inexperienced eye they tick it off. Just like what has happened to my home.

Not sure they know what they are talking about. First they said they could help me with a relatively flat coastal block, then they couldn't. Then they said I wouldn't qualify for a government grant, then I would. Then they apologized for the confusion and disconnected the call. Anyway, new house buying is a "process"?

Homebuyers Centre have been absolutely fantastic from the second i walked into the display home.
They listen, care and are very prompt in responding to questions.
I get regular emails, updates and frequent communication that makes me feel like i am always in the loop and everyone i have spoken to are so friendly. I would recommend anyone to build with Homebuyers Centre!

Homebuyers were a great support for us and very professional. Their sales professionals and the showroom were more than helpful through the journey. They are also extremely helpful with all the questions we had and helped us taking the right decision.

I highly recommend Joel Elsley, we came to see what floor plans he could draw up for us and he absolutely nailed it, and he added the basic extras into our budget so we actually have a finished house for the price we wanted.

We are at pre-construction stage at the moment but have only good things to say about the whole team and process so far. Peter Iozzi has been so patient and helpful and Eilidh in Prestart was pure gold! Very happy so far!

I've been dealing with Jess from Homebuyers since January. She has helped me so much! From helping me decide on land, to showing me all of my different options laid out in plain, easy to read and understand information. Out of all the display homes and websites I looked at, the ABN brand caught my eye with their quality and customer service. I'm super excited to start my building process and even better knowing that it's with such a reputable brand. If anyone is on the fence about who to build with - I highly recommend reaching out to Homebuyers and more specifically, Jess. Even if you just want to chat and find out your options, everyone's so helpful:)

EXPECT DELAYS
Sales guy promised a lot, from my experience take a note book to every sales meeting.everything you want and are important to you, write them down and if they agree that they will make it happen get them to sign and date because oh boy, I wish I had. Once you’ve signed that contract you’re done. Let me put it to you straight if you don’t ask you won’t be informed, things you think would be standard (because we the customers don’t build a house for a living and as a first home buyer I don’t have the knowledge) or logical to be included won’t be. And by the time you realise (pre start) and complain, they don’t care, the contract is sign too bad. The service team are nice and friendly, they’ll apologise and thank you for the feedback and tell you they’ll do better next time. (basically for the next customer) even though you are still through the process. If it’s not specified on the addenda forget it because it won’t be included even if your sales sales person promised it will be.
PRESTART, look it was an emotional day (cried my eyes out and embarrassed myself in front of the pre start consultant) finding out that my sales person had lied through his teeth, even tho I had proof.however
as I said if it’s not in writing and signed forget it. I liked my selection, the range is great for the value you pay. The consultant could be more sympathetic but hey it wasn’t her fault, she is a sales person.
BUILDING, look I don’t know who submits these very important structural plans however they probably need further training, the wrong floor plan was submitted to the concreter, so my slab was shorter on one side, wasn’t great as there was a 3 week delay to try workout the cheapest way to fix it. HOWEVER Damien my site supervisor (the only person I will name) as he was OUTSTANDING really genuinely tried to make it up to us. He is also the reason this experience is getting 3 stars instead of 1. From the slab point we didn’t have many delays.expect.
Practice Completion, now I was told my house was ready for a “new home inspection “ Monday 20th of Jan, the earlier viewing I could book was Friday the 25th of Jan. Now to my shock, my house wasn’t finished, the scosher’s In bed 2 and 3 were ripped out for the wardrobes to go in (fair enough) but weren’t completed before I viewed the house? Wall tile missing in laundry, towel rails were on the wrong walls at wrong height, also WRONG BATH INSTALLED. Yeah thanks guys for that generous $1190 of compensation.
Really really generous.totally made up for me feeling like crying and after 12 months of emotionally draining experience, I walked into an unfinished home, that would delay my move in period even more, BUT they were sorry, and said they would do better in the future. If you have read this far, people are human so expect errors and delays. However don’t trust your sales guys, get it all in writing everything else is smooth sailing, also during your build make sure to request a walk through ever week or two especially after lock up. Take pictures and keep a note book. Keep them accountable as you are the Customer and a lot of money is at stake.
PS. I found as a young builder (22 years old), I may have been treated the way I was because I seemed easily misled (yes because of my age). So if you are a young builder, and have parents or relatives that have built before, take them with you. Your experience will be different trust me.

We built with homebuyers 2019 with completion in September. Were very happy with the finished home. Price was a big factor for us and our sales consultant Paul along with Dillion at resolve finance made our dream possible.

Were now in a way better position paying the same amount in rent on a mortgage towards something we will actually own.

Quality on our build seems good and Cora kept us informed along the way with regular email updates.

As they are the biggest builders in WA, they are very process driven and that makes everything streamlined.

In the future if we want to build again, we will definitely
return to homebuyers.

Thankz homebuyers
