Health Freak Cafe Applecross reviews
33Excellent service. Beautiful girl with brown hair recommended lamb curry and was the best I've had! Definitely will come back just for curry.
Super disappointing. We paid $50 for a sub par meal. The pictures in the menu make the meals look huge but when they come out they are snack sized. I ordered the zucchini fritters, and I got two tiny fritters, a small mushroom, a piece of capsicum and half a tomato with some leaves (looked nothing like the huge stack in the menu photo). My partner ordered a veggie panini and it came out with practically no sauce or cheese. We had to ask for more to be put on so it wasn’t just bland bread. The coffee was the only palatable thing we ordered. So angry that we have wasted our hard earned money on this disappointing meal. This place is so overpriced and the food is underwhelming in taste.
Usually love this chain, but yesterday the food wasn't nice. My coeliac family, although hungry, couldn't eat it. Maybe our expectations were too high given the great experience and taste in other health freak cafes.at least all is gluten-free and we don't need to worry.
Best coffee I've had in a while. The menu is massive and there is so much to choose from. The cafe was busy but the service was very efficient. Thanks to the staff for being so friendly and welcoming! Will definitely be back.
One of the best cafe in Perth.
Always Great food and great service.i love to go there for breakfast and lunch.
Experienced chef and kitchen team
Thanks
Such Wonderfully made to order VEGAN PANCAKES! Will be definitely returning to your cafe again! The berries were very fresh and the Pancakes cooked to *perfection* SOFT AND FLUFFLY like they should be - BEST i have had out of 3 HFC’s i have been too (around Perth).
Thank you in addition for the lovely friendly, clean and attentive service here! Looking forward to Returning again!
The Health Freak chain is generally really good, however this one was a bit disappointing. The recipes didn't taste as good as at other locations - watery hollandaise, strange tasting waffles, and the place didn't seem well presented - sticky table tops, grimy looking cutlery. Friendly staff though.
Location is not bad although not the best as close to main road and busy. Not a lot of space inside. Food is very good and coffee too. There is a play area for kids. Some tables outside which is nice. Also toilets are clean!
On a number of times now i have driven to Health Freak applecross and they have shut the kitchen early, buy over 1hour, Seriously of order when they advertise opening hours! What is the point in stating opening hours if you never stick to it. I am over this restaurant now as i am comstantly let down and i cant trust if they will be open or not.
Sammy and his team provided us with beautiful tasty food in a very friendly atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.
The vegan pancakes were awful. My wife is vegan. I make vegan pancakes at home. It's pretty easy to find a good tasting recipe online. The vegan pancakes at this place were awful. They tasted like dog food. How could someone have tasted them and signed off on their readiness for public sale? Total fail. Everything else we ordered was pretty good. The vegan pancakes were so bad though that it takes my rating from a 4.5 to 2.
In one word, disappointing.first time I had returned to Health Freak Applecross in some time. My wife had been earlier since the new owners had taken over, and I should have taken her advice not to return. CocoWhip is the crown jewel of Health Freak, and it was bland, watery and yellow. I'm having trouble reconciling the 5 star reviews I've read on here - as they certainly dropped their standards. I should have suspected as much, as I see the new owner often at Coles Booragoon buying produce, the previous owners were diligent and friendly and we had been there from day 1. I shouldn't have been surprised to find no one there on a Friday night, besides another couple, the place is usually swarming. The math is fairly simple, if you have a premium pricing you must deliver an incredible product (the food) and experience. Whom ever is going to respond to this review, please save yourself the embarrassment of a canned response.
Folks doing Keto beware! This place sells deserts by Crunchbox, a company marketing deserts as "Keto". No one at the restaurant could tell us the carb count for these items. Sadly after looking into it, calling the company, etc, we found out that the slice of Keto chocolate (cake) has 20.1 grams of carbs and their coffee and caramel squares have 13 grams. (I altered this post to reflect the proper name of the squares, we had the coffee, I thought it was called Mocha).
Not so Keto friendly. So disappointed. A restaurant selling other companies products should make sure they know what they are selling! Please Health Freak if you continue to sell Crunchbox products as Keto, clearly list the carbs for your customers, they are really not Keto friendly products even though Crunchbox sells them as such!
