Tranquil and peaceful setting with beautiful views and a few lovely places around the hobby farm to really be present and enjoy the benefits of being outside and free for the usual city life noises and pace

The manor was beautiful and cosy, and Cathy was a very accommodating host. Kids had a wonderful time during our stay with plenty to do at and around the area.

We had a wonderful stay at Gumleaf. We loved that it is only a 30minutes drive out from the airport. The cottage was also located to many nearby groceries, malls and restaurants.

If you're looking for a place that is near to the city and you want to experience the nature closer, then Gumleaf Cottage would be your choice.

The Manor was a good fit for 3A2C (5yo and 18mth). The rooms are cleaned, refreshed and refilled. There is an induction cooker and microwave which you could dish up simple meals. The beds are on the softer side but good enough for a couple of nights. There are toys, books to keep the kids entertained. The water heater was stable and toiletries, fresh linen, hair dryer were also provided. More importantly, we are thankful to Cathy for providing us with a baby tub so that our littlest could have her soak in this chilly winter.

The overall farm experience was great. My girls both went on the pony ride, with my eldest on Missy and youngest on Mickey. All the animals on the ground are very friendly towards both adults and young children - especially their dogs Teddy and Lara. Feeding is usually done in the day and we had Evie who brought us around (Good luck in your future endeavors if you ever see this!). We also managed to lit up the "campfire" bucket and bbq some mashmellow and corn cobs. Witnessing the stars in total darkness is something you'd never experience in Singapore. So that was really cool as an adult.

We would recommend that you head to Midland Gate in the day time or drive up to Mondo Nougats or House of Honey during your visit there. You could also take your time to explore the farm more. We were here during winter period, so the citrus fruits bloomed and we had the opportunity to "pluck" 2 from the lemon and Orange/Tangerine trees. So that was something cool for the kids too, to see how fruits grow in reality.

This trip is a lot more for the kids than the adult. Both of them can't forget the experience they had on the horse. Thanks for hosting us Cathy.

We had a great stay at Gumleaf Cottage for 4 nights with 3 kids (2,5,7)! Very family-oriented with lots of toys, books and games, a high-chair, playground, trampoline etc, all of which my kids thoroughly enjoyed. Their favourite part of the experience had to be the daily animal feeding, cuddling the bunnies and guinea pigs, the hay rides with Evie (who was so patient and good with the kids) and the pony/horse rides! Thanks to Cathy for her kind hospitality, Evie for taking us through the farm activities every day, and special thanks to the doggos too, especially dear Teddy whom the kids still talk about now:)

We had the best family get away here over Easter at the cottage. It was so cute and cosy. It is small but surprisingly it didn’t both us at all! Was nice to sit together as a family around the fire. I don’t normally write reviews but we had such an amazing time and experience I just had to. Cathy went above and beyond to make our Easter memorable for our kids. The animals are gorgeous and you can tell are very well loved. Planning on going back with our friends and their small kids soon

Extremely disappointed.
Nothing like the 'luxurious apartment' that was advertised.
We booked and paid for 4 nights but left after 1.
Very cramped, dirty and smelly. A very untidy property in general.

Zero privacy. The only window to the bedroom/ living area is a full length window, looking on the main front driveway/ porch. We were told to just pull the curtains if we wanted privacy. The windowsill was filthy and full of dead flies.

We were told on arrival to read some papers which included a long list of 'DONT'S! ' This included 'don't sleep under the ' luxurious duvet covers' and only sleep between the sheets. This immediately made me question if the bedding was actually washed between guests.

There was a constant foul smell in the bedroom/ kitchen area. We were told the dogs like to come in to the room and mark their territory if the doors aren't closed.

Kitchen cupboard where our food was to be stored was dirty and had several dead flies in it.

Cooking facilities included 1 small convection cooker and a frying pan. Not suitable for a family of 4. I went to make tea and the cup had dried food residue stuck to it.

Bathroom door was a sliding door which would not close even half way.

We were told to sit at the bed room door entrance if we wanted privacy or a view. This looked out on to the side of the family home which had a 'KEEP OUT' sign. It didn't feel private or relaxing.

There was a small fire pit outside but it was right beside a large shed that looked like it was for storage and scrap.

The owner failed to appreciate our disappointment and has not responded to our 2 emails.

I grew up on a farm and have stayed in many farm stays over the years which have all been clean, tidy and very enjoyable. I cannot express my disappointment of this place.

We spent 2 nights at the Gumleaf Cottage Farmstay, and it was simply perfect. The kids had so much fun going around with the quad bike and feeding the animals, as well as simply spending time outdoor. Thank you so much for Cathy's help to make this trip memorable! We will be back! ;)

It is like staying in a mini Caversham Wildlife Park:) Do consider staying for 3 nights (not 2 or less nights), especially if you have children, so that you have time to enjoy the farm. Owner is a nice person, but since it is a homestay - treat the owner and animals with care!

It was the first time we brought our kids to stay at a farm in Perth and it was such a lovely experience. The host Cathy was amazing. She went out of the way to make sure we were comfortable. The kids loved following her around in the wagon feeding and interacting with the animals. There was so much space at the farm for the kids to just play and run around. They kept asking to play at the playground. The house was very cosy too. The kids really loved their room which was equipped with so many toys to occupy them. The whole farm is just an awesome place to chill and relax. Couldn't have asked for a better vacation!

Returning patrons: We love coming to this farmstay because of several reasons: proximity to Perth CBD, yet far away enough to enjoy the semi-rural life; the farm animals; the experiences it gives our children, and of course, the warmth of our host, Cathy. The availability of horse rides simply seals the deal! Always a delight to enjoy the experience of living in a century old cottage, but this time round, the beauty of the 'new' wing under the main house - Gumleaf Manor too! Thanks as always Cathy for hosting our large group and for catering to the kids' horse rides.

The hospitality that Cathy provide is superb. She took the time to explain to us on the area, the house, where to go and what to eat. We really enjoyed our stay in the farm and my boys loved the animal feeding particularly the horse and guinea pigs. Its a shame that we didnt get to do pony rides due to the bad weather though. Thanks Cathy

We enjoyed our stay at Gumleaf Cottages with host Cathy. A great place to stay with kids who will get a taste of farm life. Feeding the animals in the morning and evening are highlights of the day. Peaceful and tranquil bush setting minutes from Mundaring.

Cathy was a really accommodative and friendly host. She also took the effort to ensure that my family and I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Cottages were well fitted out and the kids really loved the toys that were found in the within them. Needless to say, the most fun part was being able to feed and help care for the animals on the farm. A pity that we only stayed for 2 nights. Will definitely recommend this accommodation and will be back the next time we’re heading into the area.

Cathy did a wonderful job making us feel so welcomed. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the farm stay, being with nature and my boys loved spending lots of time with the animals, riding on the trike and feeding the animal in the morning. The play equipment on the property was also a massive bonus. We left feeling relaxed and well rested.

We had a wonderful family holiday at Gumleaf cottage. We loved the daily animal feeding and the pony rides. The animals at the farm are beautiful, and so friendly. Cathy works so hard to ensure that every guest enjoys their stay. The cottage was clean, well kept and perfect for children; I couldn’t believe how many toys are provided. We will definitely be back soon.

Our family just completed a 3-night stay at Gumleaf Cottage Farmstay, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our two young girls enjoyed the daily activities on the farm, including animal feeding, hay rides, pony riding and chicken egg picking.

The location of the Farmstay is family-friendly, with Munduring Village Shopping Centre and Parkerville Tavern located close by. Midland Gate is also a short drive from the farm.

Very grateful to Cathy for her warm hospitality during our stay. We look forward to visiting from Singapore again soon!

We stayed for 3 nights at the Manor and our daughter enjoyed it so much. The morning animals feeding round was the highlight everyday. It gave us a very intimate and personal experience with the small group size. This is something you will really appreciate in the farm. Kathy made us all felt so comfortable as guests. We felt her warm and hospitality throughout.  We spent so much time in the farm we hardy had time to venture out to explore the other areas of Perth. Our daughter had endless fun in and round the farm. Meeting the animals, a horse ride, walking around the expansive grounds (lots of wild flowers when we were there), playing on the swing, the playground and of course the trampoline.  The location is set in a peaceful wooded area and yet so very near to supermarkets and other modern convenience if you need them. The manor apartment looks like it was recently refurbished with the toilet and kitchen looking especially new. We did some light cooking for breakfast and dinner in the well equipped kitchen. Not to forget the "unlimited" supply of fresh eggs thanks to the chickens in the farm. There is a tv with Netflix in the room but we never had the time or need to switch it on during our stay. (lots of toys and books in the room to occupy our daughter indoors too)  I could go on and on, our daughter is still talking about her stay in the farm days after we left. Thank you Kathy.

Highly recommend this farmstay. The farm is just beautiful, safe and well maintained and the cottage is comfortable, well equipped and clean. Cathy and her team are so lovely and welcoming! My kids had a ball and loved feeding the animals in the morning and riding the horse.
