26 What a hidden little gem this place is.
Timeless and nostalgic.
Lovely staff
Old time feel
5 stars.
Best place in Perth to see any movie, easy to get to, good to have dinner at near by restaurants before seeing movie
I love this place. Friendly staff, good prices, good food selection and bar options. Great movies. Go early to get a good seat. Definitely get a bean bag chair. You'll love it! My favourite night out.
The 'pre show' for Grand Cinemas gave some insight into the business' history which I was unaware of.
The 'pre show' for Grand Cinemas gave some insight into the business' history which I was unaware of. Staff were very attentive. It was very quiet on my visit, only 2 other people in the theatre.
The glamour of yesteryear warm and friendly with a movie to match thanks Miss Fisher and Cygnet
Stayed locally over Xmas 2019 and when I visited was pleasantly surprised. The seating was more comfortable than what I was expecting and the screen size and picture quality was great. Beautiful art deco cinema.go for the old school charm of the place, the movie is just a bonus aside.
Lovely old cinema with a cool atmosphere.
A step back in time.
I love this place.
You can also get an alcoholic beverage
What a rare diamond! Loved the ambience Of the building.
Magnificent location, free parking.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
I’ll certainly be back and spreading the word.
THIS IS A GEM OF A CINEMA, LOCATED IN PRESTON STREET SOUTH PERTH, IT IS OLD FASHIONED, PATRONIZED BY SENIOR CITIZENS
WHO GET A DISCOUNT ON THERE TICKETS.
WE ARE BOTH PENSIONERS AND VISIT ON A REGULAR BASIS. IT HAPPENS TO BE ACROSS THE ROAD, FROM THE KARALEE TAVERN, SO YOU CAN ALWAYS POP IN FOR A MEAL OR A PINT,
ITS A VALUE FOR MONEY VENUE.
Looks small but feels big, place to go for a movie in style, something different something nostalgic.make happy memories. Lots of eateries around, short walk to see the sunset too
Very impressed with this charming old art deco style cinema. Staff were very friendly. The seats were much further apart than any theatre I've been to in Perth, so heaps of leg room. What a luxury. Also volume throughout ads and movie was significantly lower than the ear-splitting audio experienced at other cinemas. A nice change. Will definitely go back.
Lovely old setting for the pre-screening of Downton Abbey movie, seats worn and not very comfortable but otherwise pleasant.
Went to a special screening of Downton Abbey. Had a glass of champers and a lovely custard puff. The cinema is an art deco theatre and is very comfortable. For fans of Downton the movie was great.
A unique heritage cinema, Western Australian owned, $10 tickets with a cinema card, one of the most affordable in Perth
Good happy atmosphere. Superb example of good old fashioned picture theatre, keeping up with the times!
What a grand ole girl of a cinema
Friendly staff and much more enjoyable than going to Innaloo with the hordes of munchkins and plebs
But its time folks to upgrade those seats, they're shite and not comfy.yes i know 1st world problems but its time my backside is treated to a more softer experience, lol.
Yesterday I took a friend to the Cygnet Theatre to see The Chaperone. Such a beautiful theatre in every way excepting that it was freezing cold in there! If you are going there take my advice and take a blanket because you’ll need it.
