Grand Cinemas / HOYTS Joondalup reviews
35Not a good experience at all, floors sticky and dirty so the cinema smells, toilets dirty and uncomfortable seats we will not be returning.
Watched the new Napoleon movie at 6 PM on a Sunday night and the atmosphere was exceptionally great.
Very tidy throughout the cinema and the waiting times for tickets/food was very short.
The cinema is good but there snack bar prices are ridiculous $33 for 2 cokes and a large popcorn combo
Hoyts Joondalup has unfortunately not progressed from it's Grand Cinema roots. The chairs are as basic as they always were, and the theatre itself had a mildew smell. After being spoil with luxury of Hoyts Karrinyup, it is hard to justify anything less, especially considering the same cost.
Unfortunately the cinema has really gone downhill. The toilets were absolutely filthy, the seating area was the same, the popcorn was extremely salty that we couldn't eat it. We asked for some new popcorn but we were advised that's just how their popcorn is brought in. I only saw one staff member the whole time who was a young female which is not safe for the night time sessions! Will be avoiding this cinema unfortunately. Also seems you need to take out a small loan to go to the movies these days, why so expensive?
Went here from grand cinemas and much to my life shocking suprise, there it was, they changed to Hoyts. Absolutely the worst
I was scared to enter as if there was a demon by the doors. I built up the courage to go in.
Very small cinemas. I asked for meatballs and mash but they straight up declined. Like what girl, I only come to movies for my meatballs and mash, nothing else
Highly not recommend
Love Grand Cinemas Warwick! They still have actual Diet Coke as well as Coke no sugar which I hate! People are great! Always enjoy my visits there.
Still a gd location to watch movies even though it's tired and showing its age. Proximity to shopping centre makes it a good time for entertainment and retail therapy
The kids & I were greeted with a friendly smIle & who was soooo accommodating with our tickets & food, great service from her. Great movie cinema, comfortable seats. We all had a great time & enjoyed the movie Sing 2, thank you.
For a cinema in such a central and popular location for the northern suburbs, it is a bit of a disappointment walking in and seeing how dated it is. At minimum the seats need to be updated, reclining seating would be awesome to see to keep in line with a major competitor who has had reclining seats in all standard cinemas for years in shopping centres as small as Southlands (Willetton).
Grand Cinemas is WA owned and operated and I love that, I love WA businesses and love the cinema - I’d hate to see a great WA business lose out to a competitor by falling behind the times and not offering what competitors can especially now the biggest competitor has a location north of the swan.
First of all the customer service was horrible! Staff looked like they did NOT want to be there, and when i had a problem with my ticket and needed to speak to the manager she was just as horrible.it was my birthday and i had a VERY negative experience.i will NOT be going to grand cinemas Joondulup EVER again!
Experience is like never before. No other has comfortable, clean seats like Grand Cinemas. Keep up the great work
Just spent over $50 for myself and a 4 year old. First off they said my card had expired that i only purchased a month ago. I then went and brought some snacks only to be told the cheaper packs had only just conveniently sold out. Then I get to showing my tickets to have my bag checked, when they can clearly see i have arms full of food.the staff don't smile and are rude. They Have absolutely no people skills what so ever.
I will never come back to this cinema again and definitely do not recommend this cinema.
Watched the new matrix move. My first time their, at lest it didn't smell musty. Nice n clean too
Never had a bad experience dealing with Grand cinemas, it's good to see they are operational again, seats and cinema was clean, good variety of treats for the kids and adults alike.
Sat in cinema 1 at the back and had to move because it smelt so bad of urine and the seating is filthy.
Movie was awesome though.
Dreadful long wait to purchase expensive tickets then another dreadful long wait to purchase food and drinks. Apathetic response from the manager when I highlighted this as a concern. Was told 'this is how it always is on public holidays'. Surely then this is a reason to make improvements! Not good enough Grand Cinemas.
No matter how many times I have called Grand in Joondalup to speak to a real person, not just recordings, no one ever answers the phone. Terrible customer service
Fantastic service, we purchased tickets earlier that day but unfortunately something came up & couldn't make the session. So I rang up & the manager was understanding & fantastic she reprinted tickets for a later session that afternoon & we still managed to enjoy a movie.
Wouldn't consider coming back here to see any upcoming movies.
Booked tickets online to see a movie, got to the cinemas and let into the theatre but as we got to the doors the theatre was pitch black and the screen wasnt even on!
Used our phone lights to find our seats, which gave us a shock as all the seats were filthy and place looked old and run down.
Staff need to be more aware with what is running, as we alerted a staff member about the situation but nothing was done until we waited and found another staff member to help.
Finally movie started 20 minutes late, with about 10 mins of the start of the movie played with all the theatre lights on.
