Grab A Yabby reviews
66This restaurant is absolutely top rating. Food was delicious and the atmosphere. We went out for dinner with friends and we shared two platters and the crab legs. They answered our questions very well and were so friendly. Even when the kids were wanting their colourful straws were so down to earth. Thank you for a lovely evening. We absolutely loved the food the seafood platters are soooo delicious. Definitely going back
Rory is it an amazing person at grabs restaurant really respectful to everyone that gets food here thank you for your service.
My partner and I were visiting Perth for the first time and we always love to check out a seafood boil spot and this one did not disappoint! Good amount, flavoursome and that marron was mouthwatering.
We live only minutes away from Grabs, so decided to get take away for an occasion I'm not sure if I got them on an off night or if they've changed. We ordered the fishermen basket, kids garlic prawns, fried chicken, lobster pasta and 1/2 doz grilled oysters.
Oysters were ok. Small and just ok, wouldn't re-order. Fried chicken was the stand out, was really nice. Lobster pasta was nice but it only had like a 1/4 of a tails worth of meat in it. I just think if you're going to call it a lobster pasta it should at least have more than 2 bites worth in it. Kids portion was on the pricey side and prawns over cooked.
Fishermen basket was a huge let down. The it was just not worth the $71, note that price has gone up, I got the garlic butter: it was like jars ofvminced garlic were thrown in melted butter and oil without any Seasoning, flavour.nothing. Prawns and half a bug tail was over cooked. Since then I went through the reviews on here, I noted that only months ago it was a bit cheaper and they put a whole bug tail in. Now it's gone up in price and half a tail in it.
A bit ridiculous honestly! I'd only give it one star and not zero because of the chicken. I wish I had saved my money and just gotten a burger instead
Went here for my b day dinner on Saturday. As always big love for the Vietnamese sauce and cooking style but this time the customer service is meh. We called to change our booking to one hour later and they said no problem but when we walked in d lady just gave us attitude as if we were late for our appointment? Like excuse me? We ran a 5k marathon in the afternoon and our car broke down half way back home things happen ok? Plus we alr called to change time. Seriously I was already over all the issues and ready to actual celebrate my b day night but then d lady just ruined my mood again. Jesus
*food good but portion smaller than last time and crabs run out whatever
Lobster pasta absolutely amazing. Pricey, but I’ll definitely be coming back and treating myself. Would recommend. Nice polite staff too.
Seafood seafood seafood.
I found the entrees or small dishes to be better valued than the large. The seafood basket came with a single Bug tail, 4 prawns, 4 clams, and 4 mussels for about $65.
My gripe in general with seafood is a kilo lobster generally only has about 400g of edible meat, and when you pay by the pound for some of these dishes it seems a bit much.
Overall an enjoyable experience in an upmarket restaurant.
The restaurant served us raw yabbies and for compensation they offered a free soft drink in which we didn’t take. Service was poor food was not worth the price.
If you're looking for a seafood boil, this restaurant may be one of the few that may be of interest. This restaurant offers a range of seafood dishes and Vietnamese cuisine.
The pricing is standard for most seafood places selling lobsters, crabs, and other crustaceans (On the slightly higher $$$ end) but the food was cooked and presented very well.
Staff service was excellent. The establishment had friendly staff and provided quick and efficient service despite myself not having a booking.
Would definitely come again, if I ever have the craving for crab or lobster.
The service here is above and beyond! The food is awesome! Best seafood we have had for ages. Highly recommend
We’ve had good experiences in the past but this last time it was very bad. Usually when we get the platter for two it comes with the lobster which is very good but it did not say the lobster is only available depending on the day. If I was told about it I would not buy it because $155 for a platter without the big lobster is not worth it at all. Our rice was also cold and there was half the amount of sauce as usual.
Massive serve if seafood for the share platter, was delicious, wish I could eat here every night
Absolutely delicious! Cannot wait to go back!
Went back a second time on the 20/09. Super dissapointed. Lacked flavour. The mussels were barley warm. The sauce was watery and lacked flavour. Just really really disappointing. Unfortunately will not be coming back.
Really enjoyed our visit. The customer service was great and so was the seafood. Yes it is pricey but the food was tasty and fresh. The Marron was some of the best I've encountered and the Morton bay bugs were good too.
Pros: food was delicious, full of flavour and most fresh. Cocktails were second to none and service was great and relatively fast even though they were short staffed. They accommodated us with a last minute booking. Highly recommend the marron and the oysters. 10/10
Cons: I hate to be picky but one of the tap beers tasted really off, almost soapy and had no head, could've been to do with the glass but it was rancid, very easily sorted with the amazing waitress. One of the oysters was full of shell, which happens from time to time but they were very expensive so that was a little disappointing, although some of the best tasting oysters I've encountered. Green lip mussels need to be replaced with fresher mussels, maybe live black mussel as they were quite Chewy and not fresh.
Tips: order a higher heat than usual. Mild has no spice at all. It didn't really matter as the sauce was delicious regardless but when we return we will definitely be ordering hot.
The food was delicious and quick service, the staff were great and very friendly. Definitely one of my favourite places to go for seafood from now on.
Absolutely couldn’t fault dinner! Was absolutely amazing and I enjoyed the flavours, the portions! We have been there a few times and it gets better each time! Service was amazing even you’re trainee was brilliant!
I am being 100% honest this place made me hate seafood. My sisters and i were gagging at the smell of the fisherman’s basket thinking maybe the taste will be different, but it was even worse. A WASTE OF MONEY.don’t be fooled by the pics.
Mud crab was absolutely excellent with the Singaporean chilli, pricey but you definitely get what you pay for!
Loved it!
Came here for dinner and had a great experience. The staff were friendly, the restaurant was modern and the food was fantastic!
We ordered a lobster and king crab claws with mild cajun special sauce. The sauce was really good, though i recommend to go atleast medium level spice to feel a bit of spiciness. We enjoyed the lobster more as it was really juicy and tasted really good. The king crab was just okay, for the sake of experience its not that bad. All in all we enjoyed the night and had a good meal.
