Gar Heng Chinese Restaurant reviews
33It's the only place to get a good Chinese meal in Albany and that's all that needs to be said. Top of the food chain lol
Food was bland had no flavour at all, terrible English
My partner and I got MSG Poisoning from the Honey chicken and combination fried Rice
Avoid eating here
The service was really bad, he took our order that included 2 type of soup, and even at the end of all the dishes received, he didnt bring us the soup that was ordered. When we asked him about that order, he said they dont have it (which he didnt mention while we ordered and even at the end).
He was not friendly at all and he’s really bad at Customer service.
Chinese Dine in and take away nearby Orana, they are quiet popular among the Orana neighborhood. Tried their food twice, quantity is more than enough for one person. Mongolian beef, Special fried rice, Singapore chowmein, chicken wings, sweet corn soup, fish crackers were we tried.
The portions were big but the taste of the food is a let-down.
We ordered the salt and pepper chilli squid which tasted more of garlic and it overpowered the whole dish. Batter was too thick and can barely taste the squid.
Same goes for the honey chicken with thick batter and not much protein. I can’t taste the honey either.
Singapore noodles didn’t taste like it. No curry taste which is the flavour profile of the dish.
Food is excellent, good price and serving sizes are massive. We had pepper beef, sweet and sour pork, garlic vegetables, chicken omelette and fried rice. Everything taste good nothing was left on our plates.
Excellent food, service was friendly. Would 100% come back but do takeaway next time, not really atmospheric. Food though well worth it.
Yummy food, awesome price and huge portions! Fried rice was a tiny bit bland - everything else tasted AMAZING!?
Hi everyone this is most definitely the best Chinese you will find in this town. If you can get past the rugged exterior you'll be pleasantly surprised. Gar heng is by far the better choice for Chinese in this town. Help to support them as i wish for them to stay around. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent Food,
Great Service.
Loved it, will go back again when I go to Albany Next.
Regularly order takeaway when in Albs-
Always good food!
. See yah laydah.
Patiently waited to place and order we knew what we were after however worker was more interested in taking phone calls of other customers than ones standing right in front of him. Not even acknowledged. Walked in before phone rang too. After second call spoke up and person kept taking order. Oh well. We went someone else and their food was great.
BEST CHINESE FOOD EVER! And we’ve had a lot over the years so to find a restaurant where all dishes were perfect is rare. We ordered Mongolian beef, satay beef, chicken omelette, garlic veggies and special fried rice for 2 people. We had so much left over it was enough for dinner the next night and the prices were cheap compared to Perth. Every dish melted in our mouths and the omelette was swimming in yummy gravy. Unfortunately we live 4.5 hours away but we’ll make sure we come back every time we visit Albany.
Some dishes were better than others. The black pepper beef was nice and the Cantonese noodle was ok. Unfortunately, the fried rice was tasteless and dry and the sweet and sour pork was mostly batter.
Unprofessional behaviour, no hi, or bye not even a smile.food was ok, but won't be ordering again
Great food but not enough staff so very busy. A few people walked out because of the wait while I was there. Luckily I called 45 minutes ahead to order so was ready in about 5-10 minutes of getting there.
The fried rice was below standard, mains were reasonable, price was normal.would probably try one of the others next trip back
Large portions so its value for money. Not the most authentic Chinese food I've had but it was decent.
These guys could be alot better, Food is only just scrapping in. Some dishes are better then others. Fried rice, tasteless. Garlic Prawns are great and very tasty.
Very old crooked floors and I see as a danger, especially to peeps that don't have the best balance. These guys could be much better.
The dishes were bad and tasted the same, we had ordered chilli chicken, sweet sour fish and garlic prawns. The sauce was spoilt and salt and pepper were stale and stuck in containers
