Fremantle Prison YHA reviews
39Brilliant! Loved it and the tour guide was local with a huge amount of knowledge to share. Great experience, highly recommend
My first week at this hostel was ok but the second one was the worst. Apparently they are not prepared to have a lot of guests because everything was dirty, I didn’t have toilet paper for 2 days. Most of the staff was rude and lazy, they didn’t care about our requests. The wifi was the worst. Also they didn’t have any breakfast as some websites shows because apparently was pretty busy to offer that service (I paid for that)
I love this place as the history of it is incredible. Beautiful buildings built by convicts, now that is definitely hard labour but they did a fantastic job.
Have been wanting to do the tour for years
Just did the convict tour and was so good our tour lady was so good
We will be going back after Christmas to do the other tour
The main accommodation is old prison cells which houses the women's prisoners. Really interesting however you have to be interested in that sort of thing. Staying in part of a closed prison is quite wired.
We spent a very interesting 1.5 hours on the tour. The best part of the tour was the excellent guide that we had who play acted the whole time.
Completed the Tunnel tour and Convict tour, exellent value for money and tour guides were exceptional!
Great place! Well worth a visit, I have done the tunnel tour and the night prison tour, both great and highly recommend! The guide, Ian, on the night tour was awesome, he was super accommodating to my little god son (7yo) who got (surprisingly) very scared on the tour, he helped calm his nerves without spoiling things for everyone else, really professional:) nothing like the tunnel tour, so cool!
A place to check out whenever in WA. Had a great time learning about the history. There are 5 different kind of tours at reasonable prices and there is a package for family.
Nice to visit. Wouldn't have wanted to stay here. The tours are great and the tour guides really do an amazing job.
A must to see if in Freemantle enjoyed it 22 years ago and enjoyed more this time tour guides are fantastic
Fremantle tunnel tour it was great fun and if you want to do something different I would recommend you do that
A top tourist destination in Perth, highly recommend taking the tours and exploring the prison. It can get a bit busy and the groups a bit large. Plan time accordingly, I'd recommend considering taking two of the tours on offer.
We went to Fremantle Prison and did a tour! Great experience. Even more fun that you can stay right next door at the YHA!
Great venue for event, attended a gathering here. Perfect ambience, good food and incredible service!
A cool experience for international students and other foreigners, quite a bit of interesting history
Interesting to stay in ex prison. So far it was okay even I was a bit scared after read the announcement that if you see ghosts, please contact the receptionist. But nothing happened. Oh ya free breakfast on sundays
Great place to visit, we only had time to do one tour, but would loved to have done the few different ones they had there. Our tour guide Debbie was most entertaining with stories of prisoners from the Convict times. Well worth a visit whilst in Fremantle!
