Fremantle Leisure Centre reviews
38Really dated and small. Need to pay parking as well. Leisureplexes in other suburbs are better.
I love this leisure centre. The outdoor 50m pool is excellent for lap swimming. There’s an indoor 25m pool with kids stuff to play on plus a separate, warm rehab pool. The gym is small but reasonably well equipped and has a large yoga/fitness class area attached.
My partner and I have used all the facilities and attended classes. We love it all!
What an awesome space And place for swim, it is so relaxing in the water. When I’m doing laps, in the inside pool, you could make it a bit longer and a bit deeper, so I can do more laps without touching the bottom of the pool for taller people.
Generally we enjoy coming to the leisure centre. However I was surprised to be charged a spectator fee this morning (albeit a small amount), just to watch my daughter's swimming lessons that she is attending for 2 weeks with her school.
We also lost out on several prepaid swimming passes because they expired while we were waiting for the roof to be replaced on the 25m pool. (We did not want to swim while there was no roof, and they refused to reimburse.).
Even better since it's upgrades. The reception staff need to be more customer friendly and focused.
A welcoming and supportive team makes for an inviting environment
Very nice outdoor pool. Great play pool for kids. 1 hr parking reimbursed if swimming & paid if ticketed.
Pool roof is still under repair so outdoor pool can get very crowded.but staff lovely.facilities clean.
Beautiful 50 metre pool. The gym is well equipped, with friendly knowledgeable and helpful staff.
There is no indoor aspect to any of the pools. The roof blew off a while ago and hasn’t been replaced. Went there as the website said it was indoors. It was not! Doughier had fun but I froze to death and got rained on!
Breathing fresh air. You can't smell chlorine because shades are open. Allows fresh air throughout
Great space for kids to learn to get confidence on boogie board or snorkeling. Good for birthdays. Whirlpool is fun
Nice local aquatic center. Great for kids! It has outdoor lane pool and two kids pool with swirl pool and shallow water. We love the little swirl pool goes round and round.
Freo pools is the best place to go on a nice hot day.
They do need more things for kids to do but kids get bored really easy here, I use to like the old play ground they had there
Some of the instructors are amazing. The pools are also a great asset.
However, there are very few high intensity classes at appropriate times (early morning or in the evening) for people who can actually afford the relatively high fees at this leisure centre due to having paid employment. See any other mainstream gym for cheaper rates with more flexibility, much more variety in types of classes each week and many more high intensity options. FLC have exactly the same class schedule every week and some of the actual routines within those sessions vary very little from week to week, so if you go regularly, it gets extremely boring and repetitive; as most instructors will tell you, this does not offer appropriate variety and challenge in your workouts, your body just gets used to it. I enjoy yoga, but I don't understand why the only early morning option is ALWAYS yoga or pilates, couldn't this be varied once a week to offer another high intensity option for people who like to go to the gym at this time? They also only have the space to have one very small class (max 20) operating at a time which can get very busy - all the people wanting to attend a high intensity class have no option to go at the same time as their are so few classes. This can be pretty dangerous when there is not enough space, as is the lack of appropriate air conditioning during summer months - more than once I have had to leave a class part way through for this reason as I thought I was going to pass out. Equipment is quite old but no worse than I've seen at other gyms. Classes at this gym also completely stop for two weeks or more over Christmas and New Year - the only time I had time off and had hoped I could take part in a few more of the day time classes, which was very disappointing. But don't worry, you'll need to continue to pay for them as normal, despite the gym saving money not having to pay instructors - even those who were willing to continue working over this period.
I have filled in several feedback forms, encouraged to do so by the instructors who also seem frustrated by the way things are, hoping for improvements, but nothing ever changes. I have tried my best to persevere but won't be renewing my contract. Too expensive and totally ignore feedback.
Great place to bring the kids for an hour or two. Cheap too, was only about $5, with kids under a certain age free (can't remember what age exactly).
Great clean local pool - one of the best in Australia if it had a SAUNA. Desperately needs a sauna, the one at Beaty park is filthy so a Clean one like the freo pool would be an absolute bonus
Very nice local pools, not too busy during the day. Well worth it to get a pre-paid membership card for parking and entry.
Great place to cool off and walk laps when you've had a knee replacement. YA! Also really cool fun kids pool.
A great kids place. The undercover pools and connected baby-toddler-kid evolution system is loved by our girls.
The double lane set up for recreational swimming works really well. Temperature of the water is also great.:)
