Epsom Fish & Chips

This used to be the best fish n chips around. Great chips, fluffy inside with a great textured skin or outer layer. Now they're oil filled with a cardboard like outer layer.
It had a great size and freshness piece of snapper together with the service which is why they get the two stars. However coupled with the chips was the ever so hard potato scallop and the 'off' dim sum.
I am 52 yo and this is the first time I've experienced this
They got a ways to go and I hope they do because it once was an icon of the area

The shark is light and tasty. The perfect crisp on the fish & chips! Banana fritter is delicious. The whole meal was great and good value for money.

Phone order was told 15 minutes
Turned up on the quarter and paid. Waited another 15 and asked how long before my order was ready and was told it’s ready but I had to pay $10
If I wanted cold fish an chips I would turn up 30 minutes after ordering.

Wonderful local fish and chips shop with beautiful service.
I find the food a tad oily but the pricing and amount is fair.

Ordered on the phone and they only started making once I got there. May as well just order in store.

Old school fish and chips, value for dollar! Our second time here, will definitely be back when in the area.

First time was tasty but greasy. Second time undercooked chips. Batter on scallops way too thick. All over just bland. Won't be a third time. Pity. They have potential.

Great local fish and chips place. The food was good, the service was friendly, and the price was fine. Ticks all the right boxes for me.

I've had fish and chips from here more than five or six times and it's always been tasty and good value.
Never once have I had reason to complain.

I don't know what happened to this place. Maybe the owners sold it to another person. My Fish had a hard spine and the flesh was awful. I put it in the Bin. Wont be ordering again. Chips was sorry also.

Very very yummy food:). Good chips and scrumptious fish. I am usually vegan but i still come here to eat your yummy fish:). Service is very good and just adds to the amazing experience

This place is bloody amazing. Its got good fish and chips for a small price compared to the ones ive went to. The staff is nice. I Really recommend this place.

Ordered a family pack asked for 4 crab sticks and 4 dim Sims they gave us 8 freezing cold dimsims, was meant to feed a family of 4 I got chips that would feed 2 fish was ok best thing out of the lot was the gravy that was spot on thanks for $45 worth

Imagine my family and my disappointment when we realised that we were short one snapper and were not provided with any tartare sauce (which were included in the price of the meals). Imagine our further disappointment when we found that the calamari rings were soggy and inedible.

Although the fish and chips tasted good, it did not make up for the fact that our order was incomplete and we left still hungry as a result of the missing fish and poor substandard calamari rings.

I strongly advise that you re-evaluate how your orders are assembled and packed to ensure your customers are not left shortchanged and hungry.

As a result of this disappointing meal we will have to really strongly consider whether Epsom Fish and Chips will be worth a second visit.

Ordered Fish and Chips through UberEats at 4: 30pm for delivery between 6: 30 to 7pm. Epsom Fish and Chips cancelled my ordered at 7pm. Very disappointed with customer service. No phone call - just a text message telling me about the cancellation.

We use to love the fish and chip shop on Epsom Ave, however after tonight’s meal we will never be going back. The colour of the batter was brown and the food was very greasy and cold in the middle. I knew that this was not their normal standard and I have since found out that they have new owners. Try somewhere else before you go here as it’s not the same taste, quality or value for money that Epsom Ave Fish and Chips was known for.

Usually my local go to fish and chip shop. The staff are very friendly, but the food can be hit and miss. Not on quality mind you, everything is always tasty. But a few times I've received incorrect items.

My current favourite fish and chips shop. I'm really fussy when it comes to fish and chips, but Epsom Fish & Chips tastes great. The potato scallops are the best I've had, the fish batter is nice and crispy and the fish well cooked, and the chips are delicious. The prices are also really good - not expensive at all. And to top it all off, you can get the fish and chips delivered via Uber Eats)
