Very disappointing experience at the Dragon Palace. We asked for a veg fried rice and they served us a portion of rice with spring onions only. When we asked for the bill, surprised by the high price they were trying to charge us, we asked to review our order and realised they were trying to charge drinks and food we never ordered. Very poor and dodgy service. We will not come back for sure.

The food is decent enough, hit and misses sometimes but not a deal breaker. What really annoys me is that there is a blatant service discrepancy between Caucasian and Asian customers, particularly towards chinese-speaking customers. After dwelling into the subject with fellow co-workers and mates alike, we realise that we've all experienced the same internalized prejudicial treatment. If you want your business to prosper, i suggest you start training your staff to take heed of this feedback because i certainly don't want to pay the same price for sub-par treatment of your chinese-speaking patrons.

My mother and I wandered in out of the rain quite late in the evening to find welcoming staff and a lovely setting waiting for us.

Firstly, the fried rice. Fresh, crisp veg, moist bbq pork and chicken, with a carefully considered addition of just the right amount of shredded iceberg lettuce. New for me and delightful.

Next we sampled the Cantonese beef, which was some of the most tender scotch fillet I've had to date.

The sweet and sour pork was divine in its light, crispy batter, and well balanced sauce.

Perhaps worth the most honourable of mentions was the salt and pepper prawns. You know food is good when your stomach is crying at you to stop, but you have just one more, and then another, and then another? That was this dish. Absolutely perfect in its creation. Simple, no fuss, but every element of it was great. We thank the staff for their delicious offerings and for their hospitality at such late notice. We can't wait to return with the rest of our family.

I used to love this place and went all the time with the family, however the last few times I have been It has been alot more pricey and the food not as fresh, shame it was amazing value at one point in time.

Not as customer satisfaction orientated as they used to be, no wonder the lines have gotten shorter and shorter. Better off going somewhere else!

This place has got the most horrible and rude manager (or the owner), we decided never go back there because we don’t want to see the manager’s face. Also, we had a bottle of wine for BYO, the manager wrote on the bill 15dollars for the BYO. We were wondering if they put the price up from 10bucks and asked how much they charge for corkage at the till, the person at the till said 10bucks. So we asked if the price gone up from today, the guy went to the boss (or the owner) and they changed the corkage price to 10 bucks! How handy is that.

ATTENDED KARAOKE - Disgusting service. Would not recommend for anyone. My partner and I went to dragon palace with a group of friends for our hens and bucks (karaoke only) - over the phone, we received a reasonably priced quote, and then on the night of the hens and bucks, we were forced to pay $380.00 for food (tiny food platters of reheated fried food e.g spring rolls, served cold - I could have got better food from McDonalds or spudshed) on top of our quoted price, apparently, in order to allow our party to buy alcohol - this was despite having had dinner before we arrived at Dragon Palace. Did not like the dishonesty and hidden costs. A BIG rip off. Would never go back. Ended up having to pay $932 for 2 rooms, two hours of Karaoke, and cold fried food.

A solid C minus in terms of food quality.
Everything was pretty borderline except for the shanghai dumplings which were good. The squid tentacles were gluggy and the oil tasted stale, we left the majority of it untouched as it was really bad. The vegetables with oyster sauce was cut very large and the sauce was average. The duck was stringy and not flavoured well. At the end we had a $96 bill, a feeling of dissatisfaction and heavy tummies. Not going back. I would recommend the nearby Fortune Five for a good dim sum feed.

In its day this place used to do a very good yum cha, but sadly it has seriously gone downhill.
We should have taken the hint when it was half empty at lunchtime on Sunday - never seen that before.
The squid tentacles used to have a delicious dry light coating, but today’s were in a heavy batter, wet and laden with the taste of cheap cooking oil, and the tentacles were so tough we were battling to bite through them - truly inedible, we just left them.
Other dumplings were a reasonable standard, some served hot, some cold.
The whole place seemed very disorganised today, and wasn’t even busy.
The big surprise came at the end.
We have never paid more than about $50 for two people (anywhere), but today’s bill was nearly $70 - just ridiculous for what we were served.

Their food is so good. So much fresher than their competitors. The lovely older lady is replaced by a younger male. They're more busy than ever, they were struggling pretty hard over the Chinese New year. Probably could do with more staff

Went for yum cha last weekend. Last time I went was 2yrs ago. Since then the service and variety of food has gone down. Quality of food we did get was very good just disappointed in the bad service and lack of trolleys coming around at midday on a Saturday. Expected more

We enjoyed the food here. Although the services is a bit haphazard and not consistently good. Still, if food is the only consideration, one of the better Cantonese resultants in Perth.

Cockroach throughout the restaurant, terrible service. Some guy called Jason is shouts at you and give you the worst attitude. Dimsum wasn't cooked thoroughly and is still cold inside. Probably the worst dimsum place in perth

Great big venue, though slow customer service in regards to ordering, friendly ladies though. I think over priced too! The sweet and sour pork was the best I've ever had. Salt and pepper squid amazing (could do with more flavour though) the duck was dissapointing all bone barely any meat tasted over cooked and too oily. Its half the price at good fortune bbq and much better there too. Our dishes came out at random times with long waiting gaps in between dishes wich was rather annoying. The venue and seating was nice clean and white however they should move the fish tanks into the restraunt area to give the room some life. I think I would have been alot more impressed with the food and customer service here if i hadent been to good fortune bbq.
Thank you: D

I ordered take away for two Dry Fried Beef Rice Noodle, but only gave me one. And even refused to give me another one, just gave me the excuse that they were busy. Really don’t recommend!

The days of lining up at 10.30am for yum cha seemed to have past. Walk right in, plenty of tables. The trolleys are moving around reasonably quickly, the food is fresh and they have all the standard yum cha dishes.

Have enjoyed Dim Sum here until I pushed the patience of a waitress because I couldn't understand what she was saying behind her mask. She was trying to describe the contents of the cart, but her mask and accent made it hard to understand what she was saying. After repeated requests for her to repeat she gave out a visible sigh of frustration which was really upsetting. I'm already used to Dim Sum staff not caring about customer service, but this was annoying.

We had a terrible experience trying for Dim sum this afternoon Thursday, 19 nov 2020 at Dragon Palace
We ordered seafood siomay but waited so long until all foods finished and I asked to the waiter and he said we taking time to make food. Which is not good answer for us after a long wait.
He should say sorry or double check with the chef or food will coming soon.
I have to cancel the order for waiting so long and unprofessional staff.

Not too bad, need some maintenance work on the men's restroom and suggest investing in a mob when water get dropped on the floor.
