Dôme Café - Geraldton

What a disappointment! $31 for a steak sandwich supposedly to be served on a penni bread with real steak. The reality was basic white bread (probably straight from a Coles aisle) barely toasted with an inedible overcooked horrible tasting “protein” tough enough to make shoes with. I am no food snob but expect something that at least resembled the picture on the menu. Having eaten at many Dome Cafes though out Perth they at least were to a high standard. The owner and the chef (if they have one anymore) at this venue should be ashamed of their efforts. I will never be going back and now realise why other nearby food outlets were busy and the Dome was not. Avoid disappointment and go elsewhere for a meal in Gero.
PS I have since been told by a local that this venue has recently changed ownership and as a result the locals won’t go there anymore. I now know why.

Waited more than 1 hour for a coffee. Furthermore, it was cold and bad taste.

The waitress doesn’t speak English and didn’t want to help.

Did not stay no place for the dog. We go to various domes which are excellent and dog friendly. No shaded area not allowed on verandah this is the only dime we will never visit!

Potato Chips on the side of plate were completely stale and I watched as my drink sat on counter for 20 minutes until they brought it over to me after my food had arrived.

This review has been a long time coming, I've given dome dozens of chances a year, over atleast 6-8 years, and I'm 99% always disappointed.
Orders are always constantly wrong, every time, without fail, always made wrong and/or something is forgotten, whether they are busy or quiet with 3 customer, they manage to stuff things up. I understand people make mistakes and it's life, but I've never had a good experience here, which is a shame because I absolutely love the food. But having to remind staff about forgotten items, and still no outcome, or waiting an extreme amount of time for something to be fixed, makes me always regret giving them a 29th chance. Just this past weekend part of our order was forgotten, I asked the staff members 3 separate times nicely if they could amend (showing my receipt) nothing happen, I then had to go ask for a refund on the menu item as breakfast was over and wasn't going to wait any longer, which is disappointing because I'd much rather give my money to the business in exchange for there delicious food. However I'm sure I'll go back and be disappointed and upset constantly, I'll give them more chances, and if things get better, I'll change my review to positive, don't have my hopes up though. I hope I eat my own words instead of wrong orders and missing items. Doesn't matter how much I ask staff nicely, they never amend there mistakes.

Fish was less than 10mm thick and tasteless
Some things dome do well but fish isn’t one of them

Two coffees burned my mouth was so hot if coffee is your specialty at least make it properly, had to let it sit 15 min before it was drinkable, but burnt and bitter

Took 30 minutes for milkshakes even though we asked how long they were going to be and they said they were not going to be to long

Went here for my 31st anniversary. The teenage waiter who served us kept blatantly staring at my wife’s rack and I was about to call him out on it when one of the supervisors began accosting him with racial slurs so I thought I’d give him a pass. The smell coming from the kitchen was something I could only imagine in my worst nightmares and the food had so much oil that the US are planning to take over. Service was adequate but the manager taking a break from yelling at his staff to loudly yell at his wife put us off our appetite. The seats were inexplicably wet. 1 star.

Worst club sandwich ever.made with processed chicken.gave one star because chips were good. $20 for processed chicken outrageous

The smalls are small and poor quality for the price. Service is slow and unorganised. Would not recommend

Ordered breakfast for myself, my husband and our daughter as a treat (we are not locals) on a weekday morning. So disappointing. Toasted sandwich was so burnt, I had to saw thru it to cut away crusts and salvage what I could, coffees were molten lava (when they finally arrived) and my daughters babychino was so hot she spilt it after burning her tongue and fingers. Staff were on auto pilot and have no people skills whatsoever. We normally love Dome but not sure if we will be back.

I loved working there until all of a sudden they had to let me go. Thinking they only needed staff over the school holidays

Made same order mistake twice and ordered the apple pie with an ice-cream but no ice-cream. They should do orders smoothly especially under pressure with alot of customers ordering.

Dome Café Geraldton, A practice in mediocrity.

It's hard to recommend any Dome you might come across because in reality they have been providing the same dull experience since the first Dome opened in 1991.

All problems aside I will say the staff during my time being waited on was pleasant with training that didn't lack and a smile to welcome. Café décor is typical of any Dome with the hardwood flooring that always seems dirty, menus displayed in it's sticky gloriousness and surfaces mired in finger/hand prints suggesting rogue little people being let loose for that family friendly café vibe.

Onto the core experience of every café, that being the food and drink you intend to eat. This where this review begins to go sour, unlike their food which lacks all taste. Taste and display akin to fast food restaurants, designed to provide the same meal day in day out as to not offended any regulars whom (Lacking a better way to explain this) would order McDonalds over seas and call that a good culinarily adventure. Evidence of Domes cookie cutter cooking is displayed right on the plate as the hollandaise sauce looks as if they got it straight out of the bottle and limp salads being masked by a quantity over quality mantra.

Your drinking experience here will be unstimulating like sitting in the waiting room of the doctors surgery unless you enjoy touching all surfaces with sticky hands then Dome has a big selection for you friend and it's main ingredient is sugar. Back to the refined selection of beverages and its boring. Coffee beans so inoffensive Greta Thunberg probably endorses them and Teas with so little imagination it didn't win the war for England.

Overall to put it plainly, Its Dome. That's it, It'll suit those whom are looking to have an interview in a neutral place, taking nan out for a meal but doesn't want to deal with a 'chef' who loves seasoning, taking your cousin out for a meal with 'those' children who have never been told no, taking anyone who finds pepper spicy and anyone who loves drive thru coffee.

If it isn't the McDonalds of Cafes, "I'll see you at Dome".

Stopped in for a couple of cold drinks on a Saturday afternoon and had the order made incorrectly twice after a 10 minute wait. Once I did get the drinks they both just tasted like very lightly flavoured milk (chocolate espresski with extra coffee and a berry bliss smoothie) not up to the usual dome standard set in Perth, couldn't taste any coffee whatsoever. In their defence they were fairly busy however while waiting to pick them up I did see another 3 orders incorrectly made.

Staff were friendly but I'd hit up a quieter cafe if you're in a hurry and want a decent coffee.

The food is bland and expensive, needs more variety added to to the menu. Chocolate thickshake was good.

Standard has dropped! Forgot my coffee order, when I reminded them the coffee was too hot and burnt. The barrista was the slowest I have ever seen!
