Dog Rock Vet Clinic

I took Truffles, my ten-year old German Shepherd to Dog Rock Vet Clinic twice. The first time, Dr Nguyen fixed his bleeding with a short course of anti-inflammatory tablets, and charged me almost nothing for a long and very-thorough examination. Yesterday, I took Truffy back for an ultra-sound, m to which Dr Nguyen added eyes and arthritis.
For all this, Dr Nguyen charged me less than another vet, in Albany, charged me for a consultation and a few tablets.
Dr Nguyen explained absolutely everything in advance, including possible prices and a strategy for keeping my old mate alive, if we found something sinister.
I am directing this review at the person who claimed to have a 'useless consultation' at Dog Rock. It seems that you didn't ask the right questions or provide sufficient information. Veterinary medicine can involve complex, expensive investigations and your consulting vet was saving you from all of this.
Unlike other vets in this town, Dog Rock vets looks after the owners AND the pets. As a doctor who spent every holiday of my youth assisting my uncle who was a vet specialising in poultry, I have a slight idea about the training and effort that these wonderful people have made to help ordinary folk like you and me. They deserve our absolute respect. And, the owner of Dog Rock Veterinary Hospital has my great admiration for empowering his staff.
My old dog has gained a great appetite and is full of energy - like a puppy. I couldn't be more grateful.

They were able to see our pet promptly after she had been in a cat fight. She is an older cat so it was very important to my family and I that she get seen as soon as possible to ensure she could get well. Thank you Dog Rock Vet for seeing our cat. Everyone was friendly and the vet we saw was understanding of our pet’s needs and preferences with medications (she cannot take tablets). Also very helpful and welcoming over the phone with queries and happy to take the time to help - very refreshing! Thank you!

I just took my two cats there first time, after seeing such wonderful recommendations about dog rock vets. Dr mai Nguyen was so lovely, took time to talk about the needles my cats were having. She asked everything from eating habits, any loo problems, I felt that it was very personalised care which is what I'm after in a vet. Both of my cats have different temperaments, And even though my second cat (shadow) gave Dr mai and me a hard time, she was patient and even when we had to give up giving her claws a trim Dr mai gave me some tablets to help calm down my cat for her next vet visit or when I try trimming her claws at home in a better environment that shadow was comfortable with. The staff also were lovely and friendly one even helped out to hold shadow down for her needle. The price was great and decent. For a first time visit they exceeded my expectations, Thankyou dog rock vets!

They are the most caring and compassionate veterinary service I have ever been to. I always know my pets will be looked after with the best care.

All of the staff are Always fantastic at Dog Rock Vet! I trust my beloved pets are always in great hands there.

Great service here from all the staff. Took our cat to the first time in 3 years expecting him to freak out. But Dave the vet was incredible with him and fantastic at explaining what was going on with him. This place hands down is the most welcoming vets in town with great knowledge!

After being messed about by another vet in town, I took my dog Billy to dog rock for advice, they were very helpful and eager to help me out. We have since been back a few times (rather accident prone dog) and every time they handle everything professionally and productively. I would recommend dog rock to anyone!

Went to these people first time today, unfortunately we had to have our dog put down, the vet was so nice and honest, very caring peope, I have been to quite a few over the years, was told to try these people, when we get another dog this is the place I'll be going and the price was very reasonable

I'd like to thank Dog Rock Vet for their wonderful service putting our old boy to sleep who was pushing over 18 and a half years. They were extremely accommodating when arranging this in advance to allow for myself and other family members to come down from Perth so we could all be there for his farewell. The vet came out to us on a Friday evening on his way home and he was very professional and efficient. I was too emotional to get his name but want to thank him for a very smooth and peaceful send off. Afterwards he was picked up by the sweetest people from Serenity Park Pet Crematorium. The entire process was emotional, heatbreaking and beautiful all at the same time. My family will be forever greatful for your compassion towards our beloved Tex.

Brought my dog in with a 5 cm, deep open leg wound caused by a dog bite that exposed her muscle.the vet took a quick look at it & said there was no point in him cleaning it because the bite was done the night before.told me “chuck her in the ocean to clean the wound, then let her lick it until it heals. ” Sent me home with just antibiotics, no bandage or stitches.obviously the wound didn’t close up on it’s own so I took her to another vet who quickly drained, cleaned, stitched & bandaged the wound properly. Although Dog Rock is the cheapest, I wasted $105 on a useless consult.

We only ever take our furbabies to Dog Rock Vet. They will never do any unnecessary procedures or put the hard sell on you. All they care about is the care and wellbeing of our animals. Fantastic friendly staff.

Went there to ask questions, they are very helpful and great and easy to talk too, eager to please and they'll do anything within their power to help or assist you. They even have an after hours help line.

Best vets for small animals, mostly dogs and cats, in town. I would take my dog nowhere else. Vets care greatly about their patients with common sense, empathetic attention. Fantastic staff to compliment the team.

I didn't go there this time but I have been there with my friends dog, very friendly and professional a great experience for the dog as well as the owner

Highly recommended! The handlers know the pets in and out, even to the point of knowing which pets are "best friends" in-group together. The front desk staff is always so helpful to the visitors.
