Dan Murphy's South Fremantle reviews
40 Staff in here are always lovely, but last Thursday I’d like to give a huge pat on the back to the gentleman (staff) who took the time to help me with our beer and my Mums Kahlua to the car for us. My mum is on oxygen in a wheelchair and I was planning on loading her up and balancing the beer carton on the wheelchair handles! He was more than happy to help and was also greeted with licks by my choc lab eagerly waiting for us at the car!
Superb service - not forgotten! Thankyou
Good store but a mungrel for parking took longer to get out of parking area than it did to be surved in store l would recommended you go else where when its busy it is bullsh.t or park in street and walk in ;)
Huge store with the usual Dan's wide selection of all products, staff here are super friendly and they are knowledgeable of most products
I have frequented Dan Murphy's store in Kelmscot in excess of ten years.
All the staff, I repeat all the staff without exception are the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. The Manger Roy has always got a pleasant smile on his face, and always makes the time to have a polite conversation with you.
Should you ask for assistance in finding a particular bottle of wine, or any drink for that matter, the member of staff that you have asked, will generally escort you to place where this drink is situated.
At the checkout, the person on the till, will always find something nice and positive to chat about, whilst serving you.
Consequently it is with regret, that in my opinion the the reception at the South Fremantle store has a lot to be desired.
The first time, was approximately six moths ago, when I used this store,
a young lady appeared to be stacking some shelves. I asked in a polite manner if she could point me in the direction of a particular bottle of Whiskey. At the time I thought her attitude was uncalled for, a little bit on the abrupt side, as if to say can't you see that I am busy.
I took it on the chin, everybody has an off day, I thought perhaps she was having hers. She did tell where I could find the Whiskey.
I mentioned the incident to the young man at the checkout, and suggested that customer service training for that particular lady should be considered.
Today, Thursday the 22nd of July 2020.
Virtually a replica was reenacted of that same incident.
This time I was searching for some Pink Gin. I espied what appeared to be a Dan Murphy employee, pushing a trolley.
The question I asked was " Are you a member of this establishment? " With a face that could kill, I was told that she didn't know what I was talking about.
I said that I would rephrase the question. So I asked " Do you work here' She answered yes.
So I asked if she could show me where the Gin was. As it happened it was very close by. I then asked if you had any Lindemans Chardonney,
I was told it is with the Chardonny's.
She did walk me to the correct aisle.
I did pass comment, that I considered her behavior, to be a little bit impolite, but deep down inside I considered it to very unprofessional.
I wasn't going to bother with this review /complaint.but whilst at the checkout I reconsidered.
I asked the checkout personnel, the Lady's name, I explained that I wanted to make a complaint, reluctantly, he did tell me that her name was Allison.
Maybe I have just been unfortunate in my two visits to South Fremantle.
Or perhaps not.
Kind regards.
David.
Would normally be a 5 star review as we are regulars and love the service. Unfortunately today the security guard gave us trouble.
My fiance was carded and did not have ID. We showed digital ID but was still asked to leave. We returned home for the ID as we understand he is just doing his job but apon returning to the store he gave us further difficulties and broke the 1.5m social distancing rule to look at a card he could clearly see.
I understand rules are rules but the way it was handled was very sub par.
I have a few friends on working vias and the Indian security worker has refused entry for many of my friends and myself due to "not good enough" Id's that are goverment issued.
Just a doorman wanting to flex.
Great selection of alcohol at great prices for the most part. It's also handy being able to use the website/app to order and collect later.
Always got a few good deals and specials on and also you will get a few more specials if you are a member.
Great selection of beers n liquor that I can't find in other liquor store. Membership is free and u get special price for certain items. Thumbs up
Very helpful staff, good range, reasonable pricing, worth a visit if you are in the area and need alcohol of any type.
Candidates get some good deals here.
Got overcharged lucky it got spotted.
Went a week later for a carton and got overcharged by $10.
Always a great range of products. Always well stocked shelves and if you can't find what you want there, best to go to the winery direct!
Drove all the way there to find that they had put the carton price of my beer up $10.
What a ripoff. Won't be making the effort to go there again
This place has lots of booze, which they are willing to exchange for government issued beer tokens.
There is a Salvos op-shop around the corner, so no need to make the social faux pas of arriving naked (as I initially did), when you can easily obtain pre-loved clothing for a minimal price.
Formal attire not required, but recommended if you want to be invited into the VIP lounge.
5 stars for the brilliant service from Patrick alone! Do yourself a favour and find him in the champagne or sparkling aisle. He's french, knows his stuff and is an absolute delight!
5 stars all the way and mainly due to the very excellent Patrick in the wine section
This man is a treasure and a gold mine of advice and help. So incredibly helpful and truly enthused about his subject.
Great selection, not too bad prices and great staff
Only downside is that the car park is a nightmare.
Highly recommended to friends
This the 3rd time I have been over charged at the till, for some reason the ticket prices don't match the till prices.mmmm I wonder?
Just like the other Dab Murpheys - great staff, great range.
If you find yourself in the area and have any questions, pop in and ask the staff. They are knowlegable, and willing to help. If they can't answer, they'll ask around and try find out for you.
I went out, trying to find a specific drink I had not seen in a while, and was given some background information on it.
Definitely worth stopping by.
Dan Murphy's is a large, well stocked liquor store with ample parking right outside. Service in store is brisk & efficient. Like that they don't use plastic bags but instead offer a wide selection of boxes near the check out in which to transport purchases.
Never been to the store before, excellent service, beyond reproach, great competitive prices, polite helpful staff
