Coventry Pavilion reviews
30Ordered food, never came, when we enquired after fifty minutes, they said the kitchen closed before we even order. Very unprofessional, not sure whose fault, but this kind of service completely turns me off visiting ever again.
The place to go to for oysters when they run their Thursday specials! Incredible value and large pump oysters!
We went here twice. First on Sat 1st Oct and they managed to forget our chips with two ginger beers and chips.
Then, on 3rd Oct we ordered chips and pizza, and we got chips. After 40 minutes, asked about pizza and they 'delivered it to wrong table'.
Amazing. 2 out of 2 failures. We won't be back.
If you sit outside you have to leave venue, go back through the front and show your ID, just to go back inside for a drink or to go to the toilet as the door to outside locks automatically which the staff love to keep closed…. Ridiculoussss
I went there on a quiz night and this place is huge. It seemed like they were holey unprepared for the amount of people. I queued for forever to place my food order then once seated waited for 1hr 25mins for my 1 pizza. Which unfortunately wasn't that great anyway. For some reason even though a large portion of their menu is pizzas they only had one poor soletery man making and cooking the pizzas. One would have thought a tag team of at least 2 a prepper and a cooker would have been a better idea. My god that poor chef. Staff however were lovely and professional.
Food is pretty good. But the policies are weird - no jugs of water for the tables and no take away. That is enough to put me off going back again
Guy took our order and we paid, ordered 5 drinks only gave us 4 then went as served someone else and then asked what I wanted. I said I’m still waiting for a wine, “ oh sorry”. Then they bought out a salad and said “ here is one of your salads “ starting eating it and wasn’t what we ordered, took it away and brought it back out for us to finish which was ok, then waited asked for 2 bowls of chips No fennel season, 1 came with, 1 came without seasoning, and waited and waited and waited then I asked if there was another steak coming. “ waiter said there was only 1 on the the order “, and asked if we wanted another one. I said no I’m not waiting another 40 mins. Then as we left the guy at the till said thanks hope you had a nice meal! It would have if all 5 of us had a meal
Huge venue, was there on a Wednesday night and it was relatively busy. Bar service was a bit slow, but like everywhere at the moment I just assume they're short on staff. Pizza was amazing, and all the food is made to share so portion sizes are huge! And no doggy bags so either be super hungry or bring lots of friends!
This place kept coming up in my targeted advertising on Insta. Given that it is at Coventry Village I had low expectations, but it was actually quite good. The aesthetic is nice and the staff were friendly. It was worth going on a Thursday for the half price oysters, which were delicious. We also ordered a steak and mixed seafood, but were surprised that they didn’t come with any sides at all, and so actually, there are no individual meals you can have - everything is designed to be shared. The menu needs a rework to make this clearer. At present there is a section called “shares” and then further separate sections for “seafood” and “the grill”, but the latter two are also shares. For $34 and $39 or thereabouts each, it was disappointing to not have a complete meal. This is not a silver service restaurant after all!
We went to try out the oyster special and this place definitely didn't disappointment! The oysters were very fresh. The kids meal with popcorn chicken and chips was very good too with nice crunchy chips. The bucket of battered whiting was pleasant. Nice set up with bar area upon entrance and dining area to follow and then more lounge relaxed areas as you walk further down to the big television area. Nice place to catch up with friends or a relaxed family dinner.
