What a disappointment. We are disabled pensioners who went there with our support worker and our granddaughter as a social outing. Were there when they opened. The park is run down, we could not take photos with the animals, not enough staff, no popcorn available to feed the animals and the entire park requires maintenance. Really tight entry for a mobility scooter and had to carefully navigate my way around. No pensioner/concession fees (which is fine) but also did not allow our support worker to go in on my companion card. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy with spider webs and lots of dirt. Even the area to sit and drink something was very dirty. Very sad to see it like this.

I think it would be appropriate for the parrots to have a slightly larger space, they seemed a bit sad to me

The birds and animals seem happy enough. They don't accept Companion Cards anymore, so it worked out to be an expensive outing. Train ride was really enjoyed.

Do not visit. They do not take care of their animals and should be shut down. Animals have visible diseases and signs of stress. They feed native animals popcorn. Limited clean water. Small hot cages with no greenery leading to animals suffering heat stress in summer. Do not support this animal abuse!

Visited on Easter Sunday. Over priced entry. Toilets were disgusting. Picnic tables were covered in so much bird poo, we had to go somewhere else to have our picnic. The birds were in small cages, so they couldn't actually fly. Park was in a state of disrepair. Hand washing station didn't work, we were left with soap on our hands. No grass or greenery in the park at all. Extremely disappointing.

Kids had a great time but it was pretty dull overall. Didn't see any koala's. Am terrified of Emu's and they came very close to us walking but none of the animals bit. Lots of big bull ants so make sure you wear closed in shoes.

Lots of Australian Animals and a great experience to get so close to them all.
A couple of well loved other animals too.
Not too far out of the city center and very reasonably priced.
The area around the Park is also beautiful.

Always great seeing the wildlife so close. The koala experience is one of a kind. You can see the love they have for their animals

Loved it! Great place to walk around and feed Australian animals! As soon as we got there we saw young emus being fed. We were followed around by peacocks that wanted to be fed and they took the food right out of our hands. None of the animals were overbearing, they mostly let you come to them. All in all a wonderful day out.

.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves when we visited yesterday. Whilst we probably should have waited for a cooler day to be more comfortable in the heat.that didn’t stop us from having a great time.

I asked about the popcorn, and the staff member cheerfully explained it was because of the risk posed to children who like to sample alternative feed types. Popcorn is obviously not the animals staple diet, it’s a snack and a safer option for all parties involved (animals/birds/people)

I think the set up that they have for the many birds they are caring for is well done, I particularly liked the amount of natural wood available to the cockatoos and corella’s. The cages/Avery’s are vented and shaded.

Kindly look at the birds in the wild on a hot day…1 you probably won’t see them 2 if you do they’ll be panting, wings out, cooling down.

What some people reviewing don’t seem to understand is that the space available to the birds in captivity is probably far larger than before they were placed in the care of this business (obviously I don’t know this to be true but it’s a fairly safe assumption) it’s listed as a sanctuary which means animals have been rehoused there!

If seeing birds in captivity makes you uncomfortable, obviously don’t go.

If you understand what it takes to care for a bird (particularly ones that have been come from captivity already and you know that mixing them in a different enclosure would not be safe and releasing them would also put them at risk) then absolutely go and support this establishment.

I wanted to ask someone about the birds and how to came to be, but the staff were busy doing all the work it takes to care for animals and I respect that.

It has an old world ‘back to the future’ kind of feel with sculptures and I loved that. We packed our lunch and sat on tables surrounded by Guinea fowl, pea cocks, ducks and emus. My 17 month old daughter (a bird enthusiast) had a blast watching them all.

The koalas are adorable, we did not get a picture but intend on doing so next time we visit!

P. S.it’s summer- algae blooms are inevitable. I imagine by supporting this business, it allows them to invest in the things they may need to manage such occurrences.

Thanks Cohunu Koala Park, you made our daughters day. We look forward to visit again

Why make up your own rules to discriminate those who have not been vaxxed? McGowan has definitely not mandated this. What's your problem? Why the exclusion rule when you can choose peace, inclusion and happiness. Sad and disgusting move.

Good park for a visit with the kids who love to see animals? And birds? More closely. $15 for adult and $5 for child above 3 years. Probably can spend upto 3 hours. Must do a small train ride for about 10-15 minutes ($6 per person) and don't forget to discover mini train build history from a train driver. Less hot weather preferred. Plenty of space for the picnic area.

Great experience for kids with animals roaming and plenty to see.
Getting worn out though.

Good for the kids but park is quite run down. It really needs an upgrade. A lot of cockatoos in small cages with not much stimulation in them to keep the birds happy.

I will say however that the staff were very nice and accommodating to questions and the cages and enclosures were clean so there is obviously love there but maybe not enough money to take care of the animals the way I would expect in Australia.

Great park for the little one to explore and be in close contact with the friendly animals. Would definitely need some more work in terms of maintenance as it might be dangerous for children and some more animals to see.

Relatively small park. Some good animals there though some areas of improvement needed, such as the cocktail Aviaries.
$15 per adult. Took us a while to be served and we could have walked through without paying.
Some? Models/statues not meant to be climbed on and some unfenced water, so child supervision is definitely required, but interesting to look at.
Animals are relatively friendly, do not go if you don't like Emus or Peacocks around you.
Engaging for an hour-ish depending on your group.

Overpriced for what is there. No discount for seniors & then they want extra to ride on the train.

Animals in small cages, no grass or trees and it had a weird American crazy carnival feel. Pretty sad to see the animals there. Baby koalas were cool to see but seems a horrid tourist trap. Would not recommend or go again.
