Clancy's Fish Pub reviews
64Food was average and don’t allow for entertainment card to be used for take away even though it’s not written anywhere. ‘The manager doesn’t allow it’ and making up their own rules isn’t really good enough
Really delicious fish. The battered fish was not too oily or heavy. Really good portion size. And what I mean by that is actually a normal meal. Not crazy big. But enough to be very happy. Nice atmosphere also. Staff were lovely. Happy for us to take away our doggy bag. A thoroughly enjoyable meal in a nice local place with local fish!
We arrived back from Rottnest Island around 630pm when most of the restaurants at E shed were already closed. So we were looking for restaurants that were still open to have dinner since we were already famished. We came across Clancy's fish pub which opens till late so we went in to check out the menu! & just nice, they have deals every Monday offering '2 for the price of 1' mussels! The queue was manageable and very well maintained. Service was prompt such that in no time we were seated and waiting for our food already. We ordered a set of beer battered fish n' chips and 2 mussels.
While waiting, we also went to the drinks bar to see what they have to offer. Their staff recommended us a few of their beers and let us try before we decide what to order. We settled on the Perth Local which has a light malt aftertaste and wasn't too bitter. Thumbs up for the service & the quality!
Next up, came our mussels and fish n' chips. The mussels were great and came with 2 baguette slices for dipping. The portions were big but it was so good we had no problem finishing 1 bowl each! The beer battered fish was a tad too bland but was still decent but we will probably try out other dishes the next time we are back. On the other hand, the chips were well seasoned and the tartar sauce goes very well with it (& the fish) so it sort of made up for the fish.
All in all, we had a pleasant experience at Clancy's fish pub. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who is around this area!
A lively pub that serves good sized portions of food and has a energetic atmosphere. The fish and chips with aioli are delicious!
Favourite restaurant. My partner and I always share the seafood platter for two and it's always amazing. It's what we go to clancys for.
Good live music but the food was disappointing. Food/drink orders were from the counter only. One would think wait staff would be a given, considering the price of the dishes. And we still had to search for napkins.
Very casual and cozy pub. I liked the salads that came with my fish and chips. The portion was great but fish was a bit oily. I don't know it's the batter or the temperature of the oil. Other than that I was quite happy.
Disappointed at the slow bar service, I waited ages for drinks and eventually gave up, a mixture of understaffed at the bar and people being rude jumping in front which was very obvious to the staff.
Went to Clancy’s because it was dog friendly and could sit outdoors and have a beer, really friendly service and the lady even bought out a water bowl for the dog cos it was a hot day, got the oysters that were good, will be back
Love the chilli muscles, we usually take it away and add it on to dishes at home. Look forward to dining in at some point. There's also the entertainment book coupons to make it sweeter:)
Nice Pub with friendly service. The menu is varied and the food was good. Would go there again.
Best fish and chips we have had for ages. Thanks Clancy’s. Also tried a new beer. It was quite different but very tasty. The restaurant was open and airy, nice nautical deco. Lots of people having lunch. Staff even bought a bowl of water for our dog
Noisy, but food is reliable. Good vegan/vegetarian options and good specials.
The Fried Mice rank amongst the best ever.
My Sunday lunch was actually pretty average. Battered Whiting was more oil than fish and the fish that was there was dry and definitely didn't taste fresh. Top that off with a stale pint and I won't be back soon.
Went here on a Monday afternoon for a very nice fish and seafood platter! Staff were really friendly and attentive without being smothering. Prices are OK and parking is kinda what you'd expect from Applecross. Would definitely come here again!
Clancy's that offers a chicken parmy. I AM SOLD. Good spot for a feed and ya can't go wrong with clancy's in any case. The local one in City Beach is my go-to but will still occasionally drop in here
Nice venue, plenty of drink on offer, prawn tacos where excellent but the chilli mussels were incredibly hot and difficult to get through, would go the Freo one over this one
Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere. The food isn't spectacular but it's passable and the vibe more than makes up for it. A great place to have a casual dinner or drink with good range of beers and some good jugs of Pimm's/Sangria.
Definitely worth checking out but I would rather go on a full stomach rather than an empty one.
Glasses not kept in refrigeration, beer not at premium coolness. Parking is a challenge as paid parking from 8.00am to 6.00pm and difficult to find. Beyond those challenges a great little tavern serving acceptable pub grub.
Gr8 venue & staff. Good beer range
Went mainly for the seafood paella which was OTT spicy, small amount seafoof & a bit on the dry side
