Cheynes Beach Caravan Park reviews
56A great caravan park, very clean and tidy, fully grassed sites (a few kangaroos as well) Pet Friendly, a 10min walk to the beach good fishing, a perfect Relaxing caravan park with excellent Hosts, plus cheaper diesel
Outstanding facilities. Beautiful park. Always perfectly clean. Big shop, everything you need. We would definitely go back!
Beautiful hidden gem. Absolutely beautiful area. 4WD tracks fishing beach driving caravan park is overlooking the bay. One we want to go back to.
Great caravan park, awesome location, spacious sites and well maintained amenities.
Very clean and tidy
Super friendly staff who clearly love there jobs.
Thanks for a great stay, will definitely return
What a great well maintained park all round you can see the pride they take in it. Lots of lovely lawn for kids to play on. We stayed in ensuite cabins and couldn't fault anything. Friendly service both in kiosk & food van. Had a bit of everything we needed, including a wine tasting night which was great. We'll be back. Fuel pricing was very good.
Awesome camping place! Staff were super friendly, abolutions modern and spotless clean and lots of wildlife to spot nearby, including Honeypossums. Special thanks to Trent for helping us fixing a flat.
Pet friendly well maintained caravan park. We stayed in the new section, great camp kitchen & amenities. Newly planted trees in new section will soon be offering shady sites. We found the grassy level sites & view very rewarding. Burgers at cafe yummo. Friendly staff.
Upon arrival the location is beautiful!
Once you enter the office the whole mood changes the staff are incredibly rude and dismissive.
I called weeks prior to booking and asked if our dogs would be allowed I was bluntly told “no animals during Easter and Christmas”
Well when rocking up everyone had dogs and I questioned this and the lady ask what dogs we had and it was 1 dog per camp ground we booked 2 and I said “two kelpies” to which she said they are restricted and not allowed (very different response to the other person when I called) so I think the what is allowed list needs to be made clearer to everyone including their own staff
Camp grounds are immaculate and could not fault it one bit, very well kept and looked after, this just gets ruined by the attitude and customer service from everyone in the office and kitchen.
When leaving this morning I called up and placed a order for food around (6-9 items) and told the kitchen we are almost packing up and will collect as we leave
They called and said food was ready and I was thankful for that and I then again explained we are 5 min off leaving and will collect as we leave
I get to the counter and let them know I am here to pick up my order and the whole kitchen goes “ohhhhhhhh I have to see what she looks like “ out loud infront of everyone sitting trying to enjoy their meals. I am assuming this reaction come from me taking a while to collect the food but I had communicated why it would take me a little longer, Also if you are going to have this kind of attitude at least get the food orders correct ️
Customer service takes you a very very long way and stands out over everything els.
Phenomenal located and very very clean facilities. Your team that takes care of the yards do an impeccable job but their efforts get ruined by the rest of your teams attitudes.
** reply to owner **
- as stated I (me personally) contact and asked about dogs.
Honestly would have not cared about any of the above mentioned if your staff were not so rude.
Dogs were also not an issue just wish it was communicated correctly when I asked also if one pet pet stand is welcome I had 2 stands.
Also with the food would not have cared if your staff were not rude and made the comment that was made (I also am human too) and did not deseve to be put on the spot infront of a busy kitchen and dining area when I wanted to just collect my food later and give them time to make it while we finished packing up.
My feedback is not a hateful one more a constructive response to how I was treated.
Clean facilties & very well maintained grassed sites - the grounds staff obviously take good care of the park & are to be commended!
This place discriminates on dog sizes allowed into the park (medium size kelpie), the owner has a very poor attitude and needs to learn respect when talking to people.
What a lovely park. The owners/staff were friendly and accommodating. The sites were grassy and the top area had loads of shade. Ablutions were well kept and clean. Look forward to visiting again in the future.
Approx 20kms from main road, no other shop than their own general store (so stock up before as it's quite basic), fish n chips shop outside the office, wifi only at the office, amenities quite good, beach effectively 5min walk and being surrounded by wallabies if you are still/quiet from early evening? - PS: washing gets drenched by the morning because of the dew! Dryer fee could be adjusted to compensate for that
Stayed at the park over the Aus day weekend, as a group we booked 3 sites over the east side. 10/10 recommend for anyone to stay.
Amenities were clean & the camp kitchen was well maintained by the staff aswell as the other campers which was nice.
Loads of signs up advising of activities on certain days. The food van was a hit, all the food was lovely and fresh and the milkshakes were delicious! The shop has a nice range of groceries and even alcohol and the Staff were wonderful. And to top it off, the kangaroos coming to visit every night was the highlight for all of the kids.
Only thing I would suggest for the future is maybe put squeegees in the bathrooms rather than mops and buckets, as they just drag the water around rather than soak it up. Especially in the family bathroom. And maybe consider upgrading the playground near the entrance to be abit bigger for multiple toddlers/small children to play on at once. The top one is wonderful but not really practical for the younger kids - so much fun for the older kids and adults tho!
We will definitely be back!
What a great place to stay and bring the kids. Amenities are clean all the time and the sites are spacious with lots of grass.
Love this place and surrounding area. Throwing the swags in and having weekend escapes are always enjoyed by the family
Very unhelpful. Refuses to cater to people with pets. Discriminatory behaviour towards working dog breeds and refuses to give valid reasons or explain their “dog” policy.
Needed to see if what everyone was saying about this place was true and unfortunately it is. Never stay here is you have a dog.
Edit* Cheynes staff you really shouldn’t lie. You failed to answer my multiple requests to know more about your dog policy. You failed to give reasons as to why, you say you allow small/medium dogs but you refuse any working breed. You also fail to respond when people ask why. You have chased away paying customers who’ve had prior bookings all due to their dogs looking too much like a specific breed upon arrival.
Fantastic! We stayed at Cheynes for a week with 2 other families. The owners clearly take a lot of care and pride. Things we loved:
- sites were clean and tidy. Raked clean before each arrival.
- wine tasting, beer tasting, local produce tasting, weekly colouring in competition for the kids and a band for the summer holidays
- really well stocked shop with a good selection
- ‘pooch parking’ for the dogs at the front of the shop with water.
- friendly staff
- all the dogs were on leads and so well behaved. This was very noticeable after previously staying in Denmark and experiencing the opposite.
- The roo’s coming in every night to eat the grass was also very special. Especially for all of our kids.
- being able to hire a SUP. We did this a few times and they were a great hit with everyone.
- the common amenities were cleaned regularly to a good standard too
We will absolutely we back for another stay!
Are “doggist” so to speak. Don’t allow certain breeds, Heelers being one of them, but give no explanation. I’ve met plenty of dogs with all different types of breeding that have issues. Seems very unfair. All dogs should be under their owners control at all times, regardless of the breed.
Will not be recommending and will most definitely be posting about it on my dog travel Facebook groups
Beautiful fauna and flora. Friendly kangaroos and bandicoot. Amazing place, awesome people at Cheynes beach caravan Park.
Good park. Would love to come back. Was only surprised that VAX status would still be required there.
