Capoeira Australis has been part of our lives for over 10 years. Both of my kids started at 4yo and we never looked back. Best comunity and excelent for kid's development, confidence and health.

The Capoeira Australis family has been instrumental in helping Nathanael, who has Down Syndrome, improve his core strength, agility and overall physical wellness. When he started in 2019, we were sceptical if he would be able to do all the complex moves. For someone with low muscle tone, he progressed from having very limited movements to being able to do a hand-stand (with support on the wall), and land on his feet properly.to perform complex Capoeira movements. Besides improving his physical agility, it has improved his self-confidence in more ways than one. He eagerly looks forward to his Capoeira sessions each week. He recently participated in the 2022 Christmas pageant and loved being part of this community event.

Lucca has been doing Capoeira for three years (started 3yo) and he is very engaged. The classes are great for coordination and motor skills. It involves movement and also music.
The instructor Ourico is great with kids, and Capoeira Australis is easy to contact, great organisers and is always doing something good for the community.

My son has been attending Capoeira Australis in Osborne Park for the last six months.

He is enjoying it so much that for his birthday he asked to decorate cake with people doing capoeira and put his white uniform with first cord to teach his friends some cool moves. We ended up playing fun captain Tomato game all together for the party.

Teacher Ouriço always introduces play, story-time and music to every class. His personal approach to each child ensures that all differences are celebrated and kids feel special and heard.

We love the sense of community Capoeira Australis is cultivating, and the events they put together that engage entire families. I even started learning Portuguese myself.

If you are looking for an activity to enrol your kids in, then this is it! To begin with, the owner Lee is the main teacher. He has a calling to work with kids. It's his passion and warmth that he shows towards the kids that make this place so incredible. You won't be disappointed

My son has been a part of this school for 2 years now and thoroughly enjoys it. Experiencing the culture and deep sense of community the school provides with the unique movements that Capoeira teaches has been amazing. My son has been going to Capoeira Australis for almost 2 years now, since he turned 3. We chose Capoeira as it’s a holistic martial art where he can learn music, dance and acrobatics. We love how he learns by playing, as the instructor Ouriço always makes it fun and engaging for the children. It’s clear how much Mariana and Ouriço love what they do. The team is absolutely amazing with kids and so welcoming.

Our young children love Capoeira Australis and love learning the Brazilian songs and culture through their martial art lessons. We have watched their confidence grow and their gross motor techniques improve.

The instructors are amazing with the children! Mariana is incredibly welcoming from the first point of contact to chatting with all the parents while the class is on. This has been an outstanding activity for my son. As an occupational therapist, it has been exactly what he needed for physical development, co-ordination, and self-confidence in an environment that is non-competitive. I cannot recommend Lee enough for how he facilitates the development of the children's character and values in the group setting.

I have been practicing capoeira with Cordão de Ouro CDO Perth since 2017. I can't describe enough how capoeira has changed my life physically and emotionally. The sense of community, friendly environment and professionalism are bringing to the classes and this hence into great energy, fun and positivity! Instructor Ouriço is passionate about what he does, he also offers different ways to demonstrate capoeira kick's techniques and he is very respectful with each student level, which makes his classes with mix of beginners and more experts capoeiristas. This way everyone can learn in different levels and aim to master into the more complex movements. Also, Instructor Ouriço brings together the study of Brazilian History and Culture, Portuguese language through the name of kicks and songs and musical instruments like Berimbau (main instrument in capoeira), drums and tambourin.
Being a Brazilian learning about my own country in Australia through the practicing of capoeira at CDO Perth makes me feel at home. Also, friends that I made during this period and the lessons that I learnt I'll take for the rest of my life! Thank you CDO Perth!

These guys are just amazing. Both my kids can’t wait to attend their classes. It is so much fun and exciting for the little ones. The new studio is just beautiful and they do such a great job with the cleaning (quite important during this pandemic crisis). I can’t recommend this place enough.

Very friendly environment that's very conducive to learning and growing at your own pace. The support and care-factor is amazing, both from the instructor and fellow members, and even from the seniors all the way in Brazil. Very family and community oriented, it's not just a place to train but you become part of the family. A super super stress-free and positive environment. All members are treated with such great respect. Even the "grading" events are stress free, it's like one big party! I'm loving it.
