Barrecas Winery

The perfect winery for a trip down south! Kelly was beyond friendly and welcoming to us. Have to admit I don't know that much about wines but Kelly really took the time to explain the wide range of wines on offer and make suggestions as to which ones I might like. It was very clear that a lot of love, care and attention went into Barrecas Wines, from the growing of the grapes to the cellar door wine tasting experience. A beautiful winery with impeccable hospitality. Will definitely be back!

We went to this winery as part of a scavenger hunt with friends. Kelly was so warm and welcoming. The wines here are beautiful, particularly the excellent selection of Reds particularly the Barbera and their fortifieds. Everything here is stunning though and I am so happy we've found this hidden gem winery. The Italian influence here is clear and works perfectly for the region.

I have never been to a winery where I felt more welcome, it felt like I was family over for a visit. The wine was delicious and well priced. If you are in the area I genuinely cannot recommend a better place to go!

Beautiful family owned winery. We went there on a stop and the owner was so warm and friendly and lovely to us and our 2 kids. Shiraz, Shiraz malbec is fantastic and I would definitely recommend this for a visit for anyone travelling to this area

The woman who owns Barrecas was having an argument with other tourists when my husband and I came in.
Instead of stopping, she continued to swear and yell. We waited a few minutes then left.
The other tourists came out. My husband asked if all was okay. They had told her they disliked her wines. It obviously upset her.

Prettier wineries to visit with more likely nicer wines and host.

This was by far the best tasting experience, the wines and olive oils are absolutely beautiful. You could tell how much the family put their time and effort into this. Their dedication and hard work is remarkable.

Kelly is just so welcoming, she is beautiful and kind and she cares about people a lot, hopefully we can go back soon! Thank you Kelly.:)

We visited Barrecas Winery on Sat and it was a fantastic experience.
From the moment we walked in the door Kelly was fabulous, so warm and friendly that you felt so comfortable and relaxed you didn't want to leave.
I wanted to visit a smaller winery on this trip and decided to visit Barrecas Winery and so happy we did. Their wines are amazing and I even purchased wines I don't normally like to drink. Such quality wines and service.
This winery is a must visit for anyone heading down south or who live there, you will definitely not be disappointed.
Thank you Kelly for creating such a fun and wonderful experience for us. We will definitely see you on our next trip.

Lovely hosts, lovely wines - at a great price. Cellar door is welcoming and cosy. The Barbera wine was different for us and a standout!

The farm currently has many animals running around and it is great for the kids to watch.

This was by far the best wine tasting experience of my entire life - my sister and I popped in on the way down south and we’re absolutely blown away by the beautiful tasting space and Kelly and her warmth, kindness and above and beyond level of service.

Every wine we tasted was exceptional and I cannot recommend a visit to Barrecas highly enough, I can’t wait to return myself!

This was honestly the nicest winery. The lady serving us was beyond lovely. So knowledgeable, approachable and kind. We liked every single wine that we tried. I wouldn't say this about many wineries but the wines were so consistent so I will happily sign up for wine club and buy their wines without trying them.

After having a disappointing experience of travelling there only to find winery closed, I must change my opinion. Kelly is lovely and a pleasure to deal with. Will definitely visit next time down south

Tried twice to go to this winery both times rang before going as it was a decent drive and both times had a recorded message to say they were open and only closed on Christmas day and on Tuesdays as it was a Sunday we went there but they were closed and tried again on the Monday but were closed again. I understand people need time off but please update recorded messages very disappointed.

If you want red wine, go no further.
If you want great service, go no further.
If you go to the Donnybrook area Barrecas Winery is a the place to go.

Well worth a look, with a good mix of reds and whites plus port and muscat.
Though better in the summer when more stock is available, though what is on offer gives great insight to what the area has to offer.
