Hired a work vehicle recently and asked about adding my frequent flyer number and it was already on the system of which was read out to me and was correct. However, upon receiving the invoice, it appears Avis Perth like to fraudulently input their own frequent flyer numbers to maximise their own points as the number quoted on the invoice was completely different to the one that was discussed upon pickup. Quite dodgy to be honest, coupled with the fact that the location tends to hire out cars that have faulty electronics, broken headlights and uncleared smelly vehicles, best to avoid if possible.

If hiring a vehicle at 8am, expect a line that could last an hour purely because there is no foresight to prepare vehicles as once you get a rental agreement, staff then find a vehicle, then take the vehicle to get it cleaned all in your own time.

Convenient location for pickup and helpful staff who switched me over to zero excess (already had paid for reduced and extra insurance).

One of the staff went the extra mile after we hit a kangaroo down south and helped organised a replacement in Busselton (roadside assist weren't as helpful).

I have rented from this outlet several times and have forward bookings due to it’s convenient location. Usually the staff are friendly and efficient. 3 weeks ago I returned the car but due to a line used the drop box (there were no forms to complete for the return). The car was later checked in but not until 4 hours until I had dropped it off triggering additional charges. I have tried calling the outlet but connected to central customer care. 3 weeks I’ve been asking for refund in overcharge and they “are waiting for managers approval”. Camera footage will prove I’m not lying. It should be this hard. Especially over a simple $41 overcharge. Really disappointed.

I took a 4WD a month ago for 18 days. The car was so dirty that I decided to told the staff who proposed me a discount. When I returned it, they hadn't discuss about the discount to their manager yet, they told me that they would do it and ensured me that I will have one. Now that I gave the car back they didn't give me the discount and they don't answer to the phone or the mail.

Although we had to wait quite a long time and again give all information twice or three times (Avis seems to work on Commodore64 and iPads as second system), the lady was very friendly and even extended our stay and changed return location for us at no additional fee. It was really the best service we‘ve ever had at Avis. For the first time you are treatened as a customer.

Very slow service and we were given a car (Suzuki Swift) that was inferior to the one we booked (Kia Rio). The Swift was very compact and could only fit in one suitcase in the trunk. The car itself seemed old and used.

I refer to Rental Agreement Number 210989085. My credit card was mistakenly charged for the refilling of our rentals fuel tank a day after we returned the car (with a full tank). After discussing the matter with Reegan, the manager of Avis Fremantle (Hampton Rd), the charge was promptly reversed. All else was fine. Thanks to Avis and Reegan for the use of the car and the prompt settlement of the mistaken charge.

I am surprised this company is still in business given how they behave. They deliberately setup tricks and traps in their contract to attempt to catch you out and then hit your credit card with unsubstantiated charges.

They might manage to harass a bit of extra money out of the odd client here and there, but they must have absolutely no repeat business!

Very sharp practices which appear designed to backcharge as much cost as possible to your credit card. TAKE YOUR OWN PHOTOS OF THE CAR.

Really concerned with all the reviews being bad. I have my insurance company referring me to this place, for a hire car and I think I will tell them, how bad all the reviews are and maybe, they need to stop using them.
I don't want to get double charged, overcharged, lied to, conceit, bad photos.
I am really scared, so will go somewhere else.
I don't want to be yelled at, sign paper work and photos of a vehicle, I haven't seen. I don't want to be abused by the staff members and told, I can't have a vehicle, because the people behind the desk are disgusting.

Located in a easy to access part of town, our AVIS experience was quiet pleasant. The representative at the desk was quick and efficient, and answered all our questions. However locating the car was confusing using only the verbal directions. It would have been helpful to have a map to locate the car.

Simply charged my credit car once USD14 for no apparent reason. I emailed them few days ago and never heard from them. It's a scam. Never going to rent from them again. The customer service as well is so slow, she can't even handle a few customers and take long enough for each customer. Jesus! Improve your quality of services please

This car rental is such a scam, i was looking for the bond back after returning the car, they was like " we already return the bond back to your account" so i asked them "which day that you reverse my bond since i don't see any transaction or notification from the bank" and they were like "we don't have any information about that" so i was like "how do you know that they return the bond bond back if they never got the information when they reverse the bond? " i was using this rental since its from rac insurance car hiring. I would not recommend this car rental to anyone since they are so unprofessional since the moment i called them waiting on line like forever until their answer regarding this issue, also thank you for your customer service, i have no idea either you hiring someone to talk like mumbling on the phone or you do it on purpose to make this issue more challenging for customer? If yes? Congratulations! IT WORK IT DOESN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

PS: if your car insurance ask you to use this car rental service ask them to recommend you to somewhere professional, you will thank me later

I just lost the love of my life Elmo, my campervan due to suspected arson.
My insurance company immediately arranged for me to have a hire car from Avis for 14 days.
I couldn't get to the city to pick it up so spent an hour on the phone talking to the Philippines to change the pick to Malaga the next day at 12noon.
I arrived at the appointed time to discover they had never heard of me!
So next day I arranged a lift to the city to pick up car.
Dispute having 2 days to get my car ready the most obnoxious woman told me I had to wait another 40 minutes! Then eavesdropping on a private conversation I was having with my sister she yelled at me " I won't have you coming in here swearing! " I was stunned and so was my sister. Then all of a sudden I was "Sweetie! " She checked my licence which is an MC license as I drive road trains and said "Jesus! " I told her she was the blaspheming using that name as a swear word! Then I was asked to sign to say pictures of car I had not seen were accurate! Of course I asked if she though I was stupid. She then yelled at me in front of several other customers saying "I won't have you coming in here and being aggressive! You are being very aggressive! "
I did say I am a truckie but not one word passed my lips?
All I wanted was a little car until my insurance gets sorted.
My insurance company told me they authorised 14 days.you know who said I can only have 12!
Never will I use Avis again!

Look. I have been here, but.seriously this it what happened. “My car just threw out an alternator, so for the next few days I just need a cheap run about” “so, we were told and emailed $107.70. It’s minor, however we were charged $109 plus dollars. (For 4 days)

Then, “you need to pay a $200 deposit because you don’t have a credit card, only a debit card. ” “Okay, when are you going to give that back” - “okay so you want it right now, and you’ll give it back a week later. ” So now we are at around $310.00

Then. “you have insurance but you have to pay the first $4000 if you have an accident, or you can pay something like $60.00 a day to reduce that to $200.00 excess. ”

So let me get this straight. This started out at $107.70 for 4 days for a cheap runabout. But, if we want to be covered for insurance, and we want to give them a deposit. So.total bill. $109 rental + $200 deposit + $360 plus for insurance = $669.00 minimum for a cheap runabout. For 4 days. Wow.that’s a lot of “extra” it was going to be about $27.00 a day. In the end, if we had taken all the extras. $$167.00 a day. Big difference right?

3 stars.the place is clean the car is good, but all the surprises.if it wasn’t for the frequent flyer points from QANTAS we wouldn’t be back. There is always Budget.same company but different location. Who knows.

Update: I now get why the reviews are so mixed from this place. One lady is just lovely. She asked how the car was, was there anything wrong with it, and just generally ensured everything was great. She was in stark contrast to the check “out” chick I had when taking the car out. I then heard her explain the exact same options to another group of people as I was waiting for OLA to pick me up and take me home. What was amazing.she said exactly the same things to them, written above, however.said so differently I felt I would have taken those options if it had of been said like that. And.that group of men she was talking to about taking the car, took every option possible. It’s amazing how much difference the way you are being told makes a difference.

I up’d it from 3 stars to 4 stars. Taking 1 star off for the check “out” woman.other than that. I would go back now.

DO NOT HIRE HERE, what a joke, I have organised a BMW SUV for my family holiday over Christmas and they have informed me that they have to change our car for another car without changing the PRICE! What an absolute joke to do this to people at CHRISTMAS TIME as nothing else is available for hire! (they tried to inform us that they would give us a more expensive rental to compensate, however there solution alternative model is a Mitsubishi Pajero. If a car company thinks a Mitsubishi Pajero is more luxurious then a BMW SUV then they are extremely delusional and really should do some homework) hopefully someone with some common sense gives me a ring and has a more appropriate solution for my family and I. I look forward to hearing from someone!
