ALDI Waikiki reviews
41Good variety good specials and cheap every day prices some brands not available but try other alternatives
Returned a faulty item and was told that a manager would call me, I have returned multiple time asking to see the manager to be told they will definitely call me, 3 weeks and still not call.
I, largely, only shop at Aldi, cheaper and easy to get around, with standard layout, cheerful people at the checkouts.
I paid in silvers, legal tender. The rude checkout lady first said wow, then said it was wrong. She made me count it in front of her and everyone else. It's not up to me to make sure her til adds up. I counted it before I left the house. It turned out to be the right amount, all she could say again was wow. Maybe hire some more competent workers. Manners wouldn't go astray either.
Sad to see that like Woolies, Cole's, Also are also having trouble getting products. Buy local in seems to be a problem to get. All our baskets appears to be over East, Surly we are able to produce more product that are obtained in W.a, W.a W.a
LOVE the pita chips! They are the best I’ve ever had. Literally. And the police officer shopping and checking out prior to me yesterday was definitely “eye candy” if you know what I mean ;)
Only an occasional visitor, just to check out the special buys. Clean and relatively tidy store, friendly staff
Counterspace is to small and customers are rushed through checkout. Check outs open and close too rapidly under staffed
We shop here primarily for the regularly stocked items. We are pleased with the quality of the items we find and are disappointed by irregularity of things we are looking for.
Always good. Way cheaper than the other supermarkets. Only prob is.not as big a range as the other supermarkets.
Embarrassing as always trying to pack own groceries before next person piles onto you at checkout. Plus I'm not allowed to split payment between two cards? Weird huh?
I had to show vax proof before buying alcohol which I found amusing!
Great store, seems to have more stock than other Aldi's around the place. The usual great Aldi prices, staff seem friendly.
I love Aldi shops, living in Melbourne and Sydney was always popping in them once or twice a week. As I will today grabbing from Waikiki.
Nice shopping in the evening. Moves fast at checkout so you need to pack bags on the shelf or into your car. We'll stocked despite trains broken down. Good prices.
One star for the Waikiki WA store based on the actions of the blonde cashier. I've been there twice now near closing and it's been quite the adventure. The first time, I counted 27 store announcements that the store was closing in an 8 minute span. She sits there with her finger on the button, making the announcement play repeatedly, which is very annoying to say the least. She then shouted to the manager asking if there was anyone left in the store - also very unprofessional. I was in there the other night and heard about 15 announcements of the store closing in about an 8 minute span - better than the other week, but it only happens when this particular employee works.
Do better Aldi. Your customer experience is lacking at this store.
Rarely more than one checkout open at a time. Way too slow.
Edit: I just want to reiterate how pathetically slow the checkout at this store is. It's a complete joke. I just left my groceries 7 customers back from the counter, with only one of the five checkouts open, and walked out. I'd give 0 stars if I could.
Will someone please tell the short guy with the muscles working in there to calm down! He storms around like a martyr bumping into shoppers. He has gotten me twice in a space of a month!
The staff here are miserable and treat customers with contempt and disrespect. I've seen non-white people targeted for bag checks. Elderly women have their groceries basically chucked at them at the check out. People with grey hairs ID checked for alcohol. Might have to be somewhat not right in the head to be granted employment here, I don't know.
Not use to Aldi yet
Some great buys but finding still have to go to others stores to get essentials
I went in this morning around 9am. We are in lockdown and the store was the quietest i have ever seen it.
When i got to the checkout there was no customers around. As the girl was checking thru my groceries, i grabbed my bag to start putting in some of the jar/smaller items. The cashier says to me that i have to put my groceries in the trolley and load my bags at the counter. I look around - there is not one person in sight. As i load my trolley (not bags), she asks how i will pay (i haven't been even able to get the groceries in the trolley yet), so i tell her i will tell her once i check my wallet. She leaves the till and says to call her when i am ready. In this whole time, there was not one other customer even in sight. I paid and left, and still no other customers (great to see lockdown is working with reduced shoppers).
I absolutely understand the normal crazy, busy nature of aldi - and why people bag at the counter instead of the checkout, but can common sense not be employed? While i wouldn't call the teller 'rude' (although some probably would), i was more shocked at the sheer lack of common sense and her lack of ability to assess the situation.
I had already started limiting my aldi shops after last month when i bought 800g of stirfry chicken for a thermomix recipe to only find out it weighed 475g when i popped it into my theromix, which weighs the ingredients (i normally would just trust the weight on the package). I paid almost double for the quantity i got. But it wasn't worth going back to the shops for 5 dollars.
**** on a positove side, last year i had bought quite a few of the specials and i found the manager to be really friendly and helpful. He even checked.the back for me when i couldnt find a product. And another time helped me.put a large sized item on a trolley. So, i have had good experiences with thoughtful staff.but today's experience left such a bad taste in my mouth.
Not to mention, aldi didn't have all the items i needed so i still had to go into woolies next door where the service was amazingly different. For the small savings at Aldi, it is just not worth it to me anymore. So i will be taking my business to places where i feel like staff don't treat a shopper like an inconvenience.
