8 On The Point Chinese Restaurant

If Not the best would be one of theb est Chinese restaurant, sitting in water front spacious, good foods and service. However if you want cheap food not the place for you.

I can't highly recommend this place enough. From their dim sum/yum Cha menu during the day to their exquisite dinner menu at night. I've only ever eaten dim sum here before and never tried their dinners till recently, purely because I thought it would be expensive.
To my surprise it actually wasn't expensive, everything from seafood to poultry to vegetables are prepared and perfected to be on point.

Excellent service, amazing view, authentic dishes and beautiful ambience. Couldn't ask for more! Highly recommended. Thank you Tim for your time and effort taken to make our dinner experience an unforgettable one.

Me and my boyfriend love the big shanghai dumplings here. A must try would be their duck jelly. Staff here are very friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to try their a la carte soon!

We have been to 8 a number of times. I prefer dinner to the dim sum service, as the service provided during dinner is excellent. During dim sum they are way too busy and unfortunately the quality of the service is not the same. Beautiful food. A little expensive, but worth it. Highly recommend this place

A bad experience.
The restaurant lost our booking for Sunday morning, made to wait 1 hour, our party of 7 left to find another place to eat. Was a family birthday celebration which just magnified the inconvenience and frustration. Will never go back.

An average taste dim sum in a good location has relatively new facility with relatively dear prices.

Don’t come in on public holidays, bcoz the business are overwhelmingly understaffed, and the services are extremely poor.

Be prepared, your tea and cokes won’t come in half an hour, your food will be forgotten and maybe never come or completely wrong ones.good luck guys:)

Bad service, not enough portions for everyone at the table and the food did not come out in a timely fashion, the fish was finished before any rice was served. The number of desserts was incorrect despite the amount of times it was taken. Glasses and plates not refreshed between dishes even though the restaurant was not busy. Better food and service is found elsewhere. Unlikely to come back unless the place improves.

The ambience is great, located by the edge of Swan River at Fraser's Point, everything about this place is classy.

Dining at a new place in a lovely location was such a wonderful experience. A lovely treed area looking onto the Swan River. The location and decor were quality and the food first class: beautifully presented and interesting selection. The pot of tea regularly replenished, and hot. Paid parking with first hour free, close by. More signage to easily find the restaurant for a first visit would be beneficial.

Very good yum cha. (Bit expensive) but it looks like a very professional and a costly operation at this restaurant.

Have been here 3 times within a 2 year period. I must say, ‘yum cha’ is very good, and will definitely return again! The staff are very friendly, attentive and well presented. The food is delicious wether its from the cart or made to order. The restaurant itself is lovely and clean, good overall for business catch ups and or family get togethers - even over a romantic gesture. Whatever the cause, suitable for all occasions and I highly recommend this place, lunch or dinner!

The restaurant is very nice with a water view. A good space for family and friends gathering. The chairs are amazingly comfortable, such a luxury sitting on the cushion chairs. Service was great. All the dim sum dishes were presented very well. I enjoyed everything except for the chicken feet. It is not the traditional chicken feet dish, it was cold and hard. It wouldn’t matter if you don’t eat chicken feet as the rest of the food was excellent. I would definitely return to try their other food other than dim sum.

Great dim sum place with view. We went there and waited about 15 mins for a table. Food are nice. There are few times the waiters forgotten what we order (in addition to trolley round) and needed to remind them again. Otherwise good place to go for dim sum

Good quality food, nice finishing. I would say the food they serve is pretty close to authentic Chinese food.

Dim sums are tasty but the har gow is a let down. The skin is like uncooked and the filling is quite peppery. The rest of the dim sums are good, full of flavour.

This is my favourite Authentic Chinese restaurant, food is the utmost perfect in flavour and presentation, I go quiet often and have never been disappointed, location on the river superb at sunset, service always of the highest standard, Always immaculate in cleanliness and stylish, though relaxing decor.

We love dim sum and were excited to try 8 On The Point. This place elevates the dim sum experience, with the wonderful view, modern decor and staff attentively re-filling both our cups and pot with tea. We weren't sure how busy it would be on a Sunday so arrived before opening, we managed to get first in line but both the line and venue quickly filled. The food was wonderful and we were able to order from the menu and the cart without delay. My favourite dish was the prawn spring roll - it was flavoursome and fresh. The squid tentacles were great but didn't have the kick of chilli we've come to expect although the staff happily provided us additional chilli oil for the table. By the time we left, there were a large group of people waiting for a table outside so I'm glad we arrived early. It was a little more expensive than we would usually pay for dim sum but we felt the atmosphere and food were worth it.

Wonderful food, amazing service and such a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend and will be returning customers.
