Yileena Park reviews
51Lovely Owners, Service from the heart, Amazing Wines, Fantastic View and Two Kind Donkeys, what else do you need
We have been here 4 times and we love it! Amazing wine, delicious nibbles and beautiful scenery. We love the simplicity and quiet of this place.
We had such an amazing afternoon, thank you for all the knowledge you brought to us, peaceful, cozy, family winery, must to visit, Scott you were mind blowing about wine thank you
I booked lunch for my partner and myself at this winery based on the 5star reviews. The smoked food menu sounded interesting and the wine was talked up.
Understandably my partner and I were looking forward to a stunning lunch and wines. We had travelled from interstate to be there and really enjoy good food and wine and having had many experiences for comparison internationally.
We were quite sadly, perplexed, regarding the 5 star average reviews. The food was ok, the ambience ok, the location and tableware ok. The wine was underwhelming, expensive and we definitely love wine so that was very disappointing.
The service was also not what we were expecting from the reviews, ensuring friendly, knowledgeable hosts. We were welcomed with an arrogant, unresponsive host, working on a script.
We were disappointed to say the least and wished we had gone to lunch and spent that significant amount of cash at a different winery
I’m not sure where the other reviews came from or how our visit went so wrong?
If only it were possible to give 6 stars! Yileena Park is a must visit. The resident donkeys are so cute, the staff were lovely and helpful, the wine is beautiful and we could not go past the Smokey cheeses and olives - yum! Can’t wait to come back here in the summer and enjoy the beautiful views from upstairs
We had a great time here enjoying a wine tasting and some smoked meats and cheese. Lovely little space, very relaxed and personal. Food and drinks were delicious!
I love supporting good local businesses. Lovely spot, with knowledge and welcoming staff. Highly recommend.
Had an enjoyable wine tasting experience with Yileena Park! Host gave us enough private time to enjoy every glass. There no rush or pressure for purchase!
This make our visit was not only great but one of the best in the region!
A great chat with host and of course meeting their lovely mascots.
We had a great time sharing wine, and lovely conversation with Bob. Absolutely beautiful wines and food. Highly recommend the kangaroo ham!
Such an awesome place, by far my favourite winery in the yarra valley. The rosé and kangaroo where to die for. The donkeys out the front where so cute they even gave us some food so my little one could feed them ️
This is our second visit to Yileena after our first visit 6 years ago. This became our favorite winery after our first visit, so there was a little trepidation that our second visit might destroy what we have come to love. The second visit impressed us even more than the first, not sure how that was possible. This winery is run by Bob & Diane – a husband wife team who exactly know what they are doing. Diane entertains the guests at their Cellar Door sharing stories about the wine and the deliciously curated accompaniments (Dukkah, Smoked Cheeses, Olives and even Kangaroo ham!). This winery is on a small scale – Bob mentioned that while most wineries harvest 6-8 tons of grapes per acre, their goal is around 2! The entire experience is incredibly personal! We visited during the warmest time of the day, so there were not many visitors, that allowed us an ample time to converse with the Bob & Diane who know exactly why and how they create their wines.
The only place to purchase their wine & delicacies is from their cellar door. So be sure to stop by for a tasting or just to shop. It will continue to be a stop that cannot be missed on any future trip to Melbourne!
Love from Minnesota!
We were short on time when we visited, but Scott knew exactly what to do in those situations. We did selective tasting and ended up buying a few bottles. We'll defintely be back and take our time.
Had a great afternoon with such friendly and attentive service from Jo. Wine tasting coupled with cheeses and oak-smoked duck and kangaroo were absolutely scrumptious. Little touches like providing our toddler little toys to occupy herself and little crackers were very thoughtful as well as accomodating for the in laws who were non-English speakers. Thank you for such a great afternoon.
Amazing little place to stop for a delicious wine tasting and nibbles, with one of the best views in the Yarra Valley
We stopped past at Yileena Park on a mystery picnic, and were greeted by two lovely ladies. They were incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and insanely friendly! We had some rosé and they brought us some complimentary smoked cheeses, olives and nuts to sample. This location was such a highlight and on top of that, the views from the balcony were amazing!
A small micro boutique winery with some great wine. The owner, Bob, is such a friendly and knowledgeable wine maker who takes great care in explaining about his wines! Will be place I would love to come again for wine tasting and it's cheese platter!
A beautiful find in the Yarra valley. Bob and Dianne are such an amazing couple who have created such an incredible space, the wines are incredible, the merlot rose is to die for! And their smoked produce platter is so nice.what a place! Will recommend Yilenna to everyone!
Lovely boutique wines, fantastic hosting with excellent knowledge of the wines and winemaking detail. The smoked blue cheese is incredible! Finished with feeding and petting the resident donkeys Poppy and Freckles. Will be back!
Best winery, get the tasting platter and do the wine tasting, make sure to ask for the flavour list and try to work out the composition of each wines flavours. The meat is also awesome and the owners will make sure your experience is delightful, I've been 4 or 5 times now.
Absolutely love this place. Amazing wine, beautiful tasting platters, stunning views and the best customer service you could ever ask for.
