Yeosin

The restaurant is spacious, clean and in a good location, but the quality of the food and service needs significant improvement. I made a booking for 5 for lunch as I’d heard most restaurants on this level of Westfield were always packed. However when we arrived at Yeosin at 12: 30 (peak lunch time), we were the only ones there. After our experience there, I am not surprised. The biggest (but solvable) problem is that the staff do not appear to have much knowledge of their own menu or Korean food and how it should be served. We ordered meat for the bbq and a seafood hotpot. The meat seems fairly priced compared to other Korean bbq restaurants but unlike any Korean bbq restaurant we’ve ever been too, the side dishes are meagre and the lettuce for the bbq (which we had to order separately) was ridiculously overpriced for what we received (a total of 5 semi-wilted lettuce leaves). The meat was ok, nothing special, but the hotpot was a disaster, mainly because they cooked it on our table on a portable gas burner which had a very weak flame. I commented about the flame but was told it’s as high as it goes. So that meant it took 40 mins for the seafood hotpot to cook at low/ medium heat. The end result was not worth the wait. The broth tasted like instant noodle stock with added Korean dried chilli and the small amount seafood was not great (because of how long it was cooked in low heat). Also the bowls of rice looked like they had added a spoon freshly cooked rice over rice that was at least a day old. We asked about it they said it was intentional “mixed rice” (umm.no).

The worst Korean bbq experience I ever had in my life! The quality of the meat was horrible! Don’t ever go again!

We had a dangerous and unsafe experience today at Yeosin Doncaster. Our exhaust pipe caught on fire right above the table and we only got staff help after a small explosion was heard. We were asked to move tables but were provided little help in doing so. As a Korean myself this was the first time I felt unsafe and upset at a Korean BBQ establishment. Wouldn't recommend.

A nice Korean addition to the new dining precinct, staff were very welcoming and friendly. Make sure to book ahead if you want to try the BBQ.

This restaurant is more than awesome! We had our 8th years anniversary with out children. The food was so good quality and reasonable to all Korean restaurant's price. Dessert made our night more than our expectation! Highly recommend for someone who loves Korean food!

Great food and friendly service. Meat and seafood was great quality. Would recommend, and will definitely visit again.
