YASSAS - THE GREEK WAY (Eastland) reviews
57 Freezing inside!
Squeezed us into a small table right next to others when half the place was empty.
The chicken was actually delicious but pricey and nowhere as nice as Yassas at Southbank. Menu is small in comparison to Southbank too.
This is like the “mcdonalds of Greek” so if you are looking for good Greek - head to Mythos House in Doncaster!
Wont be back but will to Southbank.
1 star is too many stars. Wish I could give 0. Terrible service from the staff. The best part of the meal was when we left.
This establishment is expensive for average food. The grain salad was old. The pita bread smelt like damper, the meat was overly salty. This is not genuine or greek food. The prices are 20% higher than jimmy grants. I would never go back. And if you think you are authentic learn to pronounce what you are serving. The cutlets were not delicate morsels more like rib eyes. This is an indian run restaurant masquerading as authentic greek. Really.
Had high hopes. Was very disappointed. Food was OK when it eventually came out - but overpriced for what we got. But the kicker - service was appalling! 1) wait staff don't know their product - called the tzatziki dip "fetta"; 2) staff forgot two of the three meat platters ($80 each), even though we ordered together through the app (no apology!) ; 3) after we complained our food finally started to arrive at different times - after 10mins the salad, 10mins later chips, 10mins later the pita and then some of the meat, 5mins later the rest of the meat, they also delivered the wrong dip (no communication at all from staff during this time) ; 3) two of the three wait staff were very rude - they eventually plonked the food down without a word - it looked like this was the last place they wanted to work - they had really lost the passion. I feel sorry for the owner. When you're paying over $80 for a meal you expect some service and to feel welcome. Our group won't be returning. Would not recommend.
The softest most "melt in your mouth" lamb I think I may have ever eaten. Enfolded in this cloud like warm fluffy bread.
Sensational!
We got the $60 share meal for 2.we got it back to our room, it contained 1 pita bread cut into triangles, a box of sad looking chips, a small container of undressed Greek salad, worth about $4 and a container of dry chicken and lamb meat. When we rang the restaurant and explained we were unsatisfied and wanted to return to get a refund we were put on hold and then spoke to a rude staff member who refused our request. Really dissapointing, we could of paid $20/$25 at a kebab store for what we got.
We ordered the gyros share meal for 2 which was $60 take away
We ended up with a box of sad chips, small container of chicken and lamb, a tiny box of pita bread and a undressed salad (which is a crime in itself)
We called to say that we were unhappy with what we got for our money and that we would like to return it and we’re refused a refund for the excuse of “especially not during Covid” as if they were going to resell it or something?
She also responded “we’ve sold 200 of these and never had a problem” but when you check previous reviews it seems they have several problems. Not happy at all with the food, the service or the price! Definitely don’t waste your money!
Extremely dry meat. I had a mix between chicken and lamb and both were flavorless and almost chewy. Even my starter of grilled saganaki was poor. After lockdown i was really hoping for fresh delicious tasting Greek food however it was very disappointing.
Waited over an hour and fifteen minutes for Uber eats. The app said it would be 25 minutes so they left out poor delivery driver waiting the entire time. When I called the store the staff said they were “really busy”. I felt so bad for our driver that I gave him extra cash when he eventually dropped off the food.
The food was so dry, fish croquettes tasted expired, and chips weren’t fresh. 90% of the food ended up in the bin.such a waste of money! Turn off Uber orders if you can’t keep up.
Will not be returning.
This is the bad restaurant i ever seen. Specially the staff was terrible and so rude.
I had to wait 30min to Oder the food there’s no seems like busy the restaurant but they have keep us waited too long
also we had to wait more than 45min to eat the food which is sooo bad. I had to go and ask about the food before they bring to the table.food was already cold.ones I ask about the food from waitress girl who has long hair she said we busy she didn’t even mention the time.how rude! At lest she can say sorry if not the time.coz I didn’t went to eat for free. I paid them. I don’t know this is my honest opinion why people should be so rude and unprofessional? I wanna say if you wanna have good time this not the right place.
Great location, loved the food and service. Didn't get used to the Greek coffee, the waitor asked if we liked it or happily to change it for free.
Food and service were both fantastic. Jake was a stand-out, super friendly and attentive even when the restaurant was busy. Definitely will be back!
An excellent establishment with the owner coming from the Jimmy grants fall of Columbaris, created his own rendition resulting in an exceptional customer service with attentive staff and most of all, the best of souvalaki, fresh ingredients, excellent tzatziki sauce and delicious sides, can't recommend this place enough and the staff do a better job at cooking the food than the boss, met the boss during covid lockdown 1, now it's even better. Go team yassas keep up the good work.
Went with my lovely girlfriend to try Yasses. I was served by a young lady that was new and and young guy behind the bar. There service and the way they held themselfs was exceptional. They were under a bit of pressure as understandably after the long weekend they didnt have any beer on tap and not much beer in fridge however they were in the process of restocking. This gave me the opportunity to try something new and we had a few cocktails.i tell you what they do not disappoint.amazing. We had a seafood platter for two. The food was good we enjoyed it. We will be back for the beer!
We made a mistake when collecting our order and left half of it at the store, despite it being our mistake, they cooked another fresh batch for us! Incredibly friendly staff and the food is amazing. Highly recommend eating here, and they have a great range of gluten free options to choose from.
Such a gorgeous restaurant with the best Greek food in Australia. Everything on the menu is to die for, and I'm always craving it for months following. Customer service is beyond exceptional. 1000/10 recommend.
Would highly recommend to potential customers if considering ordering through Yassas The Greek Way restaurant NOT to order through this current climate. When we are encouraged to support local business and order take away, Yassas restaurant was very quick to confirm my order through menulog, charge me my fee, then completely fail to deliver my order, nor inform me there was no driver available through menu log after more than an hour wait. Instead closed the restaurant leaving me to investigate myself and go hungery. Extremely poor service and I will be encouraging anyone considering ordering through them not to, unless you're looking to have your hard earned money taken in exchange for no service
