Yarrawood Estate reviews
77Great food, friendly service, live music, great place to have a morning and lunch break at. Merlot was great to warm the body and soul up! On a colder morning.
The best thing about this place is the view! The staff were attentive to get us seated and given a bottle of water.however that's where it stops. It took over half an hour to eventually flag down one of the MANY staff members who were doing their best to avoid eye contact. The food all tastes very much like its out of a Woolworths packet. Wine tastings are very official sit down at a designated table for a long winded tasting, no flexibility for just one or 2 tastings. The grazing platter with "local cheeses" had one cheese that was just like a supermarket tasty cheese.
Furthermore for the amount of people they are catering for 1 toilet with a long queue? !
Could definitely do with a floor manager to sought out those random staff wondering.
What an absolute delight Yarrawood is. From the superb cuisine to the impeccable service and estate wines Yarrawood comes highly recommended. Thank you so much for having us Team!
We had a lovely tasting today, and ended up buying 6 wines! Great views and lovely service,
Would definitely come back for lunch
Views that take your breath away and fried chicken that will make you swear off KFC for ever. The meatballs were standard and to be fair its hard to go wrong with meatballs. If you appreciate fair prices, like most of wineries in the area you'll be disappointed. It would've been nice to get a 50% increase in portion sizes across each dish. Service while not horrible was average, you might have to wave a flag to get the attention of staff but when they finally do get to you they're pleasent enough. It would be nice if there was another bathroom, queues aren't very fun especially when they're right next to the kitchen. All in all a great experience and I look forward to the next one.
Great experience and good wine! Went there few times. They have beautiful views, friendly staff and good food. My only point would be more options on the menu, but a part from that highly recommend!
Food was delicious and the views stunning. Live music as well. However the seats were really uncomfortable outside, amplified by the sloped land. Tables were also wobbly (not conducive to holding top-heavy wine glasses), and the poor wait staff kept losing food off plates in the wind (surly you have dealt with the wind before!).
Both the wine and the staff from Yarrawood Estate are outstanding. Cannot recommend them highly enough. Have visited/ordered many times and plan too many times more!
Such a beautiful place! Would've loved to chill on the lawn or play a game of croquet but time was against us. Looked like lots of people around when we were there, it was a pity that the service wasn't up to the large crowd. Although meals were enjoyable, a little on the high side for what they were, although some of our group didn't enjoy their meal at all.
Lovely atmosphere & view across the vineyard and the hills beyond. Very good menu & excellent staff at reasonable prices.
I liked the view of resturant and the staff are very caring and well behavour and also i liked the food
Lovely setting, friendly staff, good food and music. Perfect place to Celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Thank You
Please please get more toilets. Have been coming for years and never before experienced a constant queue of 5-6 people behind our table inside the restaurant, as we did last Sunday.
Still love your Pinot though!
A great day out. Lunch, wine and views were perfect! The septic smell was not.lots of other positives tho!
Good wine and experience for outdoor picnic. They allow you to order food and sit on the grass and they provide sheets. Only watch out are those bees, they think your food are
Barramundi fish was definately not fresh (smelly). Waiter agreed that there were other complaints but chef had an ego and would not remove it from the menu. Additionally, Panko prawns were frozen. Staff forgot to bring one meal but apologised and offered free wine and replacement meals for bad barramundi. Chardonnay was fantastic, matched with scenic surrounds, lovely shaded areas and games for kids made for an overall plesant afternoon.
Relaxing environment. Fantastic wines. We had wine tasting there with no fee. The Cabernet saugvinon is great, don’t miss it. Btw, we didn’t find the staff to be rude as stated in some reviews. Instead, we quite enjoyed the wine tasting experience.
Tips:
Ring them before you go. There was a group wine tasting the day before, so we had to come back the next day. Luckily, the wine didn’t disappointed us.

Lovely view but the service was terrible 5 years ago & is still now. They made having an event there more stressful than it should have been, very unaccommodating & want to charge you money for everything. It's okay to come for a casual lunch if you only have 2-4 ppl but more than that, think again to go there. Used to be our favourite in the Yarra Valley, not any more. In fact, won't recommend it to any of our friends or family.
Great wine, amazing view! Visit every year, however the reception staff is really unprofessional and rude this year.disappointing!
We went to Yarrawood for lunch and the staff we quite friendly, although we did feel a little rushed as there was a wedding booked for later that day. The food was delicious but extremely small portions, so were more suited to an appetiser. The wine was very nice.
