Woodfrog Bakery reviews
38Bakes were good! I believe this is the original shop. Not much dining in space and no coffee. More of a takeaway bakes concept.
I don't know if it was my expectations of what pastry shoupd be like, but this was not it, the chocolate croissant was lacking enough chocolate and the rest were average pastries.
Dropped in to the best bakery to pick up our sourdough breadstick. We had it for lunch with provolone cheese and mortadella deliciously perfect
Pastries have good texture and are very airy but I thought the croissant was lacking taste and could be more buttery. The pain au chocolat could also have a little more chocolate.
The almond croissant was different. Not so dense and strong in almond flavor, but I guess it makes it lighter to eat.
The Danish was very tasty, my favorite, with a blueberry and custard.
I will be trying their bread next, and I love this packaging! Also very kind staff.
I find it a bit overpriced. $22 for 4 pastries.
Once you taste bread from Woodfrog Bakery, you will not go back to any other bread.
Woodfrog Bakery in St. Kilda is the original place to other Woodfrog Bakery in Melbourne. It's a small, cosy, and friendly place that serves delicious bakery options. I got soir and danish that made my day brighter
This place also supports other local businesses in town. When I dropped in, I saw a flyer about another location nearby that serves breakfast and pup for both dogs and humans. Cute!
Amazing bread and the staff are incredibly nice! Try the fruit sourdough with a bit of Stilton and a drizzle of honey.
Another best almond croissant I have found in Melbourne at lower price than LUNE (you can save double)
We visited the Woodfrog Bakery store in Acland Court earlier in the day and decided to check out the bakery. We'd actually been here before but not on a quiet day like this. It was nice and quiet and we had a lovely chat with the German girl that served us. Great bakery, highly recommended.
Why is this place popular?
The sourdough is av at best
& the staff are just downright smug
I get sourdough and soir (medium/ dark sourdough) numerous times a week at Woodfrog and it’s by far my personal favourite bakery in Melbourne. The raspberry danish and croissants are also exceptional
Brought some of their goods when walking past their stall at the Arts Centre Sunday market. Lovely spelt scones, date scones, fruit bun, almond croissant and pumpkin bread. Delicious! If I wasn't going to theatre and didn't want to lug around too big a bag would have got more. Though tempted to try while watching a play I did wait til on train home.
Omg fresh bread at ita best and lovely quick efficient service even in busiest time.
Oh and doggy tie up and fresh water. Bloody brilliant
Who can’t resist the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries.
But, these guys really know how to get the WOW factor into their product too!
Becoming too big and loosing quality. Now won’t take any cash payments because of ‘health measures’. All restrictions has been lifted. If you don’t want to take cash, give a legitimate reason. What a shame
Great atmosphere, friendly staff & great service. Coffee is great & the food absolutely delicious!
I am obsessed with the bread here - every single type is delicious and the variety is great! Really awesome bakery. Would love to see some vegan pastry options)
Used to love coming here but since covid hit in 2020, service has become really average and patronage has taken a dive. Today we popped in to get some bread, croissants and danishes and every item purchased was clearly over a day old. I really don’t think it acceptable to be selling day old bread and bakery items that should be baked fresh daily that have lost their fresh, crisp crustiness at the same price.
This has happened the past few times we’ve been in so we are just going to buy the fresh Laurent bread in coles instead. They’ve also stopped making some really great menu items like the pizzas and savoury baked goods and ceased making coffees. It’s a shame because it used to be a pumping local hot spot and now it’s dead. Suggest management reevaluate some of these decisions and discount old stock.
I’ve been to 3 different Woodfrog Bakery locations. St Kilda’s is very cute! Amazing Friendly staff and.the chocolate babka… the chocolate babka is SO good it really is a must try. Highly recommend.
Great bread! Easy and convenient only negative is I wish they had a better sweet variety.only 2or3 options and they are a bit dry.
