Wild Cattle Creek Estate reviews
59Beautiful and clean, we don't very often walk into accommodation and go wow this is lovely but we did! From the attention to detail to all the little extras supplied. It's private and and beautifully quiet and block out blinds our 2 yr old and 4 yr old have never slept in as late as they did, what a treat. Comfy beds every thing we needed.
Great food, excellent service and picturesque views. Couldn't be happier. Highly recommend visiting.
Price was reasonable and the breakfast was excellent loved the views sunrise and sunset and quiet environments 4 of us so happy for the stayed.
Food and service was impeccable! Very friendly staff, great food and beautiful clean environment. Great for kids family couples. Very romantic sunset setting for a couple s dinner. Highly recommend!
Incredible food, with excellent taste, presentation, and very generous portions, paired with great wines. Taking also into account the amazing and accommodating service and the cosiness of the venue, this is a top notch restaurant worth visiting any time when in the area.
Had a date night dinner here with my wife (did not stay in any of the rooms, so this is just for the restaurant).
Unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype for us - my steak was very overcooked (ordered medium rare, came out well done). It was still delicious, so I can only imagine how good it would have been if it had been cooked correctly. My vegetables were also so drenched in either garlic or truffle oil that the smell was making me gag - and I usually love the taste! The bar also couldn't accommodate my request for a whiskey sour, which is a pretty basic and common drink.
On the flip side I did really enjoy the oysters for entrée and my wife quite enjoyed the pot pie. The sauce/gravy that came out with the bowl of chips was possibly one of the nicest I've ever tasted and I've considered going back just for that.
Overall though, I went for the steak and was let down.
The worst wine tasting experience I have never even had. No communication at all. We don’t know what wines we are tasting. We have to ask them each wine we have tried.
My husband and I had lunch here last Saturday and were very happy. The wine was delicious, the views are beautiful, and the staff were very friendly, but the best part was definitely the food. We had the special, prosciutto wrapped fish on baked potatoes, and were happily surprised at how delicious everything was. The staff were also fantastic about making sure it was garlic and onion free for me.
The accommodation is like a home away from home. It has everything you need to get away and relax. The garden and ponds are stunning during the day. The restaurant has wonderful service that accommodates for FODMAP diet.
The food tasted alright, but the quantity of food in the mains was ridiculous. Starters should have more food than their mains! And they called it 'large' dishes. Wouldn't recommend going there.
We had a family meal at Wild Cattle Creek Estate with pre purchased deals vouchers.
While the ambience and staff were lovely, the service was very slow, the food was expensive and not of a high standard. The staff came across as untrained. My husband had the Oysters Kilpatrick for entree which he enjoyed and I had the calamari, which I found basic and expensive for the portion size. We both had the pork belly at around $37 a plate. The dish was extremely fatty with next to no meat, the rice was dry and there was nothing special about the broccolini. The quality and presentation was food-court standard. The cheese platter and desert platter was very good and this was a nice way to complete the evening. However we were over charged for our drinks and kids menu items which were supposed to be included in the kids meal price and voucher but this was rectified. Our voucher came with a take away bottle of wine, but we were told that the only bottle available to us was the Sauvignon Blanc. I asked if we could pay to upgrade to the Pino Gris which was a beautiful drop but this was declined. The Sauvignon Blanc is a younger wine, full of tannins which I found very unfavourable. It was not good experience and I would not return.
Very quiet and peaceful place to stay. The rooms were clean, light and pleasent to be in. Loved the gas fireplace to sit and read by of an evening. View from the room across the pond and vineyards was gourgous.
My husband and I went for dinner tonight. The food and service & ambiance of the restaurant was perfection. My husband had rib eye steak with potato gratin and greens. Cooked perfectly. I
Had the pumpkin ravioli in a sage butter sauce. Home made large squares of pasta. Beautiful- large serve. Their house cut chips were also yummy.
We had a great stay at the Wild cattle Creek Estate on the weekend Cathy and the team were fantastic from the time we arrive they made us feel very welcome. We had the antipasto platter which was great and wine tasting at our table, we also had dinner at the restaurant I had steak which was great and Kim had pumpkin ravioli which she really enjoyed.
Thanks to our kids for the Christmas voucher we had a great weekend would highly recommend
Went with a groupon and had a minor issue with it.
Cathy personally sorted it out for me and exceeded all of my expectations with the service received!
Thank you so much for all of your help and I look forward to visiting you again soon
Wow what can I say just fabulous food was so good meat just melts in your mouth service is on the go deserts are to die for
Kathy was amazing! Made us feel very comfortable. Such friendly service:) would highly recommend to anyone
I went to mamy other wineries in Yarra valley. It is not a really fancy place (comparing to many others) but the place made me feel relaxed and calm. The service, food and wine were great. Their Moscato was so great!
Very disappointing and let down from today"s service. We got to the restaurant just after 3pm and one of the staff members claimed that there is no chef on duty and basically did not serve us or offer us anything instead. For this reason I will not be back.
Had a wine tasting (aud$5 for 2 whites, 2 reds n 1 Moscato), the wine tasting was normal. But the lunch was awesome. I had a cape grim porterhouse 250g with peppercorn sauce & it's excellent. One of the better ones I had in my Tasmania and Australia travels. Thanks.
