White Village Greek Tavern

Ordered the $55 Banquet for three, not even enough chicken for one on the plate. (They had ran out of lamb)
The worst Greek salad I've had, I can make better, also no flatbread with the dips, why?
Don't waste your time, go somewhere else.
Very underwhelmed, first and last time we will be going here.
Can't really mention anything to be pleased about, Just a really very average meal. I don't understand why people on here have given 5 stars, they must have never been anywhere else.
I don't mind paying for good food but come on!
$173 for three (one 12 year old), I had one beer and the others drank water.

Response to owners comment - For the record we were told there was no lamb left but we were convinced by the waitress that the chef would make sure it was a great meal anyway (we did not insist on the Banquet)
That's why I didn't say anything on the night, because what's the point, take some constructive criticism. I will vote with my feet and eat somewhere else.
By the way the plates were empty because we were all still hungry and went and got some lamb kebab in Oakleigh afterwards.
Greek salad 4/10, in my opinion.
Just a heads up! If you take a booking phone call at 7.22pm (which is not really that late) and you have no food left you can say no.

They hosted our group for dinner and we really enjoyed it. The local couple who run the restaurant were adorable and flexible. Wine prices very affordable ($33 for a full bottle). Thank you very much for making our group dinner a success!

Banquet for 8 for a celebration. Lovely tasty food. Great value and fun night. Attentive service. Very happy.

Terrible. Would never recommend this place to anyone. The lady who seated us down was very rude and because of her attitude it made us walk out of the restaurant. She told us she was going to charge a three year old $55 per head and she had to charge that because she had to make it worth her while to seat us down. I don’t know how long this restaurant will stay in business with such poor customer service. If you don’t like your job get out of it.

What a beautiful and cosy place. Kosta was really friendly to us and our friends for the first time. The food was amazing and kosta was helful with foord and size recommendation. Will come back again soon.

The food was great and Kosta has this warm character that makes the experience much better. Will definitely go back

Was a little disappointed. The venue was extremely noisy and it was hard to hear others. The meals are minimal for the price. I ordered the grilled shrimp and that's all that arrived. Five shrimp for $28. Not sauces or side salad. I could get a kilo of prawns and chuck them under the grill. The prawns had no seasoning I could taste. Apart from this the waitress was a little abrupt, tables were a little small to place meals and drinks on and parking was a nightmare even on a Sunday night. The owner was very welcoming but we won't be back.

I was looking forward to our night. I had souvlaki which was super tasty. Costa was extremely friendly and inviting. I felt the chairs were very uncomfortable and I know for elderly people they would find them very hard to sit on for a long period of time. I feel that if those prices are going to be charged then there needs to be tweeks made.

Costa and his wife are lovely people and the food is fantastic I no longer have a girlfriend but get a mixed meat platter for 2 to bring home unbelievable & very reasonable prices

My fave restaurant in Glenhuntly Rd. Have been eating here for over 20 years. My kids have been eating here since they could walk. Costa is the owner he’s fun and just an awesome dude doing what he does best. The tarama and peppers, & saganaki are always amazing. We always have the blue eye as well. One of my fave greek salads as it’s filled with loads of dill and lemon juice. The banquet menu is great value. When we have visitors from overseas we always bring them here. Everyone loves it. It’s a pleasure to support such a hard working guy and his family. Food is exceptional & always friendly service. Highly recommend

White Village has always been a favourite. We have been coming her for over 20yrs and Kostya and staff have always been so welcoming and go beyond to make people feel welcome. The food is always fabulous, fresh, authenticity Greek and always delicious. They accomodated 16 of us, a few hours before lockdown, when Melbourne Restaurants are suffering. Thank you Kostya and Debbie and staff for your hospitality and a beautiful night ️

Food was very average, not alot of flavour. The Greek salad served with the banquet was mainly lettuce and barely dressed. Our entire group were not aware that coffee/tea was included and missed out as the waitress didn't remind us.

What a fantastic night and a trip back down memory lane on Thursday night. (the last supper before lockdown) Nothing has changed, even the staff. Went away thoroughly satisfied. Friendly and quick service! Thank you

Just love this place, always get the banquet to share with family and friends. Great atmosphere and outstanding food.

First time here. Food is quite average. We had roast potatoes, salad, meatballs, meat platter and a seafood platter. Price is on the higher end. Service is unique.

We absolutely love the food here it’s consistently a 10/10! We get the banquet and everything is amazing my favourite is the fish! The service is great and the staff are always lovely!

Hall of fame with 30year history. The place still has it. Get in before an icon closes its doors for good

Love going to this restaurant have been going for over 30 years the staff are so friendly the service is great and the food is delicious you never go home hungry

How good is the food here? Mouth watering from dips to dessert. Great service, friendly staff who went out of their way to accommodate and take into account the post covid rules. I'll be going back, just try keeping me away.
