This cozy little hive is always a winner, boasting great service and atmosphere. Ebony and Tom and the dream team here at White Oaks, delivering great service, delicious drinks and always good banter. It’s no surprise the bar stools are never cold here!

If you're after an American BBQ and whiskey, look no further than White Oaks Saloon! The ribs melt in your mouth, and the Jack Daniels sauce complements the steak. Will be heading back today try the crab cakes and sliders next.

I went with George and Alex, I had a good time, went inside, then out, it started to rain and then it stopped. I'm not sure what else to say, what the right questions are to ask

I have always loved this place but I was sad to see they no longer make a smoked old fashion. Very disappointing.

So much good stuff on the menu, from drinks to food, and a lovely ambiance. The only things that takes away from this intimate southern American style experience is the lack of acoustic design creating a bit of a social battle of which table can talk the loudest - just add alcohol. Menuwise, anything that ends in taco is mucho delicious. I only wish the cornbread had American style whipped butter to accompany (a stiff cold slice of butter is really only suitable to serve to a frying pan). Overall a big double yum and would definitely come back in the summer for the streetside experience.

Nothing short of fantastic. Food was amazing, drinks and the service equally as impressive. The atmosphere here speaks for itself. Loved it.

Sat for drinks and dinner nibbles with a group. Loved it here! Delicious drinks, great service, cool atmosphere, awesome decor.

This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we have had in a while:
- Service was sloppy, probably not helped by the fact the staff kept jumping back and forward from this and the other venue across the street (which we guess is managed by the same team?). As an example, our waiter clearly forgot my wine order, which took forever to get to the table, and was the wrong one when it did (Pinot Noir instead of Pinot Gris).
- The cornbread was very dry and lukewarm, but the flavour was alright.
- The gumbo looked like it had been sitting out for a while, with even a congealed layer already formed on the surface. It was, indeed, very cold. It was also really bland, lacking even some basic salt and pepper.
- The coffee-rubbed steak was cooked to our liking but, once again, lukewarm. The side sauce was quite tasty, but quite a small serve.
- The chilli mac and cheese was probably the best tasting one of the dishes we ordered, and it was pleasantly warm. Being nit-picky on this one, the texture of the sauce was somewhat weird, grainy and lumpy.
Although these are all "minor" grievances, the sum of them all really made for a bad experience, made even worse by the overpriced tab. Won't be coming back.

Absolutely legendary bar tender. Was incredibly friendly, down to earth, and helpful. Cocktails were delicious. Only recommendation would be to add a little more guacamole to the guac and blue corn chips dish. Other than that, stellar experience.

Great bar with very professional service from friendly bartenders and waiters. Try out their margaritas and their tap beers which rotate around. Also excellent corn bread!

Really disgraceful experience, very rude staff, quality of food was shocking. Staff openly bitchin about customers, including myself after I sent back a glass that had a chip in it. Missing ingredients from a dish, and when asked, told 20 minutes later that they don’t have any. Will not be back

Jalepeno poppers were nice but the rest tasted as though came from the supermarket freezer, stale and artificial.

We got to the place, “table for 2 please”…we get shown to our table and there is water and two glasses there. Nice, a good touch. My partner takes a drink and cuts her mouth to notice the glass is chipped, and 2 rather large shards of glass come off the cup. Right, well that’s not great, we’ll just let the waiter know and get a new one. Partner let’s the waiter know there’s a chip in the glass to which the response is “ok, give it here”…waiter walks away and brings another glass, “here you go, is there anything else you’d like? ” …. Nah we’re fine for the moment thanks. We sat there for probably 15 minutes without any wait staff coming to take an order after, we had a bad taste in our mouth so we just left. Bad impressions last. Not good, we went there two nights earlier and the drinks were good and service was good. This waiter has stopped us going back.

Left Uber eats running when closed. Tried twice to order but ended up getting charged for nothing. Please remember to close down your platforms if your restaurant is closed. It’s not hard.

Long wait for drinks, beer came out 5 mins before cocktail (in a chipped glass) $22 margherita filled to the brim with ice cubes, when I picked them out, had about a quarter of a glass of actual cocktail! Absolute rip off even by Phrahran standards.

Takeaway from White Oaks is not good. Food sits there getting cold and soggy. We arrived 10 mins before our pick up time and the food was already sitting there. Get it home and it's soggy. Tried calling them twice and get no answer. Pretty disappointing.

My partner and I went there a week ago. If you like good food this is NOT the place to go IMO. I agree with Hannah Smith from 7 months ago (below).

In part she said. " for $12, you can get a very expensive box of corn chips with no guacamole and bottle-quality salsa. The other dishes were very bland.in tiny portions". Couldn't agree more the blue corn chips were tasteless and the salsa was equally bland. No evidence of any herbs or spices, garlic, onion or proper seasoning in what they call a salsa. Far as we could tell it was just tomato juice in a thimble sized container. We tried a couple of their other dishes which we found greasy, cold and bland. The cocktails were very ordinary.

I tried a Bloody Mary and my partner had a Negroni. Both were poor renditions of what they should taste like. There's far better value to be had elsewhere. The restaurant over the road, Casa N. O. M Bar y Restaurante, looks to be owned by the same mob, as items on the menu and the table light are exactly the same. I just think they're not concentrating on quality and just banging out tasteless takeaway carbs at restaurant prices. Needless to say we won't be returning.
