WAYGOOD reviews
46I just had lunch at Waygood and absolutely loved it. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the restaurant is gorgeous and food was delicious. Highly recommend to those looking for a bit of a hidden gem in Richmond, I’ll be back very soon.
Awesome service, food, staff and all round vibes. Would highly recommend an afternoon lunch or vino here
I had Friday lunch here for the first time with a friend and work colleague - chosen simply from these reviews and the location. I was totally impressed with the excellent food and service. We shared from the small and middle sized plates - amazing polenta, chilli beans and almonds, luscious Mac and cheese inspired croquettes and a perfect salad. I had a glass of rose that matched well with our food - it had been one of those weeks!
I don’t often place a review for restaurants as I am no foodie but this was such a surprise experience and the staff were so helpful and engaged I felt it only fair - without the other reviews already submitted I would not have known about Way Good! Perhaps I can help you to choose it too:)
We were recommended by a friend to come here and had high expectations given their experience.
Unfortunately we found the food to be quite average and we felt each dish was a little dissapointing.
The shoestring fries were bland, the eggplant was under seasoned, the kingfish was a tad over cooked and the pork was the biggest letdown - it was over cooked, rubbery, hard to cut through and the crackle was non-existent.
We gave some feedback about our meal and was disappointment when we weren’t offered a discount (we left majority of the pork dish behind). For the amount of money we paid ($180), we left feeling pretty sad about our meal.
10/10 for ambience. Service could have been better.
$65pp feed me option was really good. The chickpea thing with the kasundi- didn't expect it- so delicious. The rest of the food was very well prepared. Snappy service, friendly staff. Ignore the negative reviews, those people must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed or something. This place is awesome!
Fantastic restaurant in Swan street Richmond.the food and atmosphere really made my evening and so did the company. Thanks Anna and Shaun great night out.
The staff are here are so attentive and friendly. Food was great and great selection of drinks.
Great meal and atmosphere. The young guy who served us had only been there for a few days and he was terrific. We need more young people like him in the industry!
Dropped in for a little cocktail, got the best service. Thanks Simon, Ya fricken legend. Best service.
The menu looks lit and we’ll be back.
The food was superb, would go back just for the food (and wine). However the staff showed their personalities and this really tied together the experience. Thanks team.
The staff are fantastic and super attentive and the food is fantastic. The wine list and cocktails are excellent. Will happily go again!
Happened to walk past this place today, on a sunny lockdown Saturday afternoon. We bought the English fish and chips and the picnic box, with beer and a cocktail to go, and took them to eat in nearby Barkly Gardens. The service was super friendly and fast. The girl who sold us our food also offered us the loan of a proper non-disposable knife with which to cut the cheese and a picnic blanket (since it was a spontaneous plan on our part) and just asked us to bring them back later.
The food is SPECTACULAR. The English fish and chips came with superb hand-cut chips with the skin on, and a pickle. The picnic box was packed full of delicious treats, including a prawn roll full of juicy prawns and a brownie with whipped cream and caramel for topping. It was $35 pp for the box but in my view, the single-person serve is more than one person could eat. You could split it between two people who were not starving and both would be satisfied.
All in all, very impressed with this place - they gave us an unexpectedly delightful picnic meal in the park, complete with loaner picnic blanket. Recommend to all.
We ordered the 3-course dinner last Saturday night and all the dishes were absolutely delicious! It was a special occasion dinner, before the arrival of baby no. 2. Waygood were really helpful and flexible with allergens and suitable ingredients. We had the time to enjoy cooking and plating the dishes, which were all so beautifully packaged and with clear instructions. Seriously worthwhile for such a delicious dining in experience.
Waygood Swan Street Richmond is a wonderful caring restaurant during this time of another lockdown they really care as I’m a GF diet the wonderful Chef makes so many choices for all out there who have the same diet requirements best of all is the great crew who meet you with smiles and cheer let’s meet and pick up our fabulous weekend food and yes drinks pickup smile and move on ️
Edit: this response below from the owner about changing stories is a complete lie. Accusing a customer about lying about a death is utterly disgraceful. I understand businesses are affected but show some empathy and compassion.

My friend & I had an 8: 30 booking last night - we called to cancel as a courtesy at 6pm and were more than happy to forfeit the deposit. However, the lady on the phone berated me, made me feel guilty and loudly talked over the top of me as I tried to explain, even after I told her our reason for cancelling was due to a family member close to passing that night. Even then, she continued to be unapologetic and incredibly rude. I was shocked. The lack of empathy in the person handling your customer service was a disgrace, and a terrible representation of this business. I was looking forward to trying this place, but obviously I'll never be making another booking.
We ordered the takeaway meat pack last week-end and it was really really good! It arrived in clearly marked packages with precise instructions about warming, cooking (limited) and timing that were easy to execute. I was a little sceptical about my ability to prepare to a restaurant-level quality meal, particularly to panfry the quail (!), but I followed the instructions, it all worked beautifully and we had a most delicious meal - balanced, flavorsome, generous. If we had been served this meal while dining in a restaurant we would have come home raving about the food. The service (over the phone and the delivery) was warm and personal and the whole experience was very positive.
It will be remembered as one of our lockdown highlights - a spark of joy in tough times.
Bottomless brunch at Saint Urban
Pros:
Ambience is good
Customer service very attentive
Food is tasty.
However, portion sizes are very small for the price paid. Think tapas or kiddie meal. We left still hungry. Had to order another meal when I got home. I’m average size petite female and not a big eater. Would recommend for drinks but not for bottomless brunch.
Golly, this place is such a gem and treat. I truly miss popping in for a wine and plate of cheese, or something more substantial. When the real thing isn't available during these crazy times, the 'second best' is equally as good.
I've been loving the Saint Urban At Home menu from Marty, Nino, Jane and the team. The three-course lamb meal my house-mate and I had recently was so tasty and generous. The wine they sent with it was sublimmmmmme.
Thank you team and I can't wait to see you in person, hopefully soon, and not just when you're dropping off my Saint Urban goodies.
Fantastic take out. Suggest do a pop up St Urban at home (but only in line with government guidelines) We did great
Super expensive for the food you get. Waiters always trying to sell you stuff. Not a good vibe for me.
