Warung Agus reviews
68Our table of 5 ordered only vegan and gluten free dishes and they were very tasty, especially the eggplant curry. Mocktails looked pretty good too, and the wines were reasonably priced.
Delicious and authentic Balinese food. A pretty extensive menu of Balinese favourites at very reasonable prices. Attentive and friendly service too.
Need to book in advance.
Need to order large meal if your hungry.
Food was well presented good flavours
Loved it. Food was great, service and people there awesome. If you like Indonesian food, go there!
If you're missing Bali and want a taste of it.stop by this place. Amazingly authentic Balinese food, absolutely delicious. The staff were super friendly too. I do have two minor criticisms however - 1) Portion sizes could have been slightly bigger given the price, 2) Service was a little slow tonight however the staff did mention they were a little short and they were pretty busy so that's totally understandable.
Overall though I do recommend this place if yoy are craving Balinese food.
We cannot fault the food and service here. The babi guling was authentic, portion sizes were great and the staff were super friendly. The perfect place to experience great balinese food whilst we're all unable to go abroad.
One of my top 3 restaurants, period.
Amazingly delicious and authentic Balinese food, served to you by three generations of a wonderful family who take pride in what they do.and they do it so well. (Cocktails are a blast too!)
Make sure u book either your table or takeaway slot so you're not disappointed.

: Had to check out this Balinese restaurant in North Melbourne. Always wanted to try Babi Guling and Warung Agus did not disappoint.
️: Ordered Gado Gado right off the menu as soon as I saw those words. And since we’re here for Balinese food, no way we’ll miss out on Babi Guling and Ayam Betutu, both so yummy I was craving more! Service was great as well. It was a family run business. People were nice and friendly.
Delicious food! Also appreciate that the staff tailored our portions to our awkwardly sized party, and had no issues splitting bills.
Finally made it to this vegan-friendly spot and it definitely met expectations. The dishes are all so interesting, including options such as avocado and mushrooms in coconut cream (sounds like overkill but it’s perfect) and fried tempeh coated in candlenut and turmeric. The real standout was the braised tofu and eggplant which came in the most delicious caramely sauce. Before ordering, note that the small serves aren’t huge so if you’re sharing, you’re better off going with the larger size.
We've walked along errol and Victoria st many times during our explorations of North Melbourne and have always been curious about the crowds that flock to Warung Agus. Yesterday we tried this Balinese specialty restaurant and was pleasantly impressed. A small place that makes up for it in its bold flavours and strong characters of its food. Punchy recipes that use shrimp paste, chilli, spice and all things nice yet at the same time perfectly balanced. We tried the famous pork with crackling, spiced chicken, tempeh and sweet potato and the reputed yellow rice and all were fantastic. If I had to pick one to definitely try, it would be the Ayam Panggang (grilled chicken on the bone with sweet soy shallot sauce.)
Friendly Service, fantastic food! The flavours were so on point, fresh and flavourful. Plus they have have Babi Guling on the menu which is a must try here or in Bali.
Great service and most importantly great food. We had the set menu which was delicious. We’ll be back.
Really amazing food. Just so yummy. And just such lovely people. Go here for amazing Balinese food and support wonderful people. Couldn’t recommend more!
Such a beautiful attentive space, with a menu of flavour-bombs simple and delicious! We have brought friends here various times, and each time it feels like being welcomed into a warm home. Dietary requirements are cared for generously, and every dish we've tried has been a win. Thank you for creating such a nourishing experience!
Wonderful Balinese food. I regularly eat in or order take away. The eggplant dish nearly turned me vegan. Highly recommend.
I adore this place. I've been coming here for takeaway lately, and not only is the food reaaallly flavourful but the staff are incredibly lovely and upbeat. Lots of vegan options to choose from and you get lots for what you pay for-great value! You need to go here!
First night out in a long time and honestly had the best experience, the staff were incredible the food was amazing too, the set menu was more then enough even had some left overs we took home. Drinks menu had plenty on it and all the flavours match with the food perfectly 10/10 across the board will definitely be going back. They also offer take away so if you can't get in for a feed, I recommend some take away.
This is by far my favourite restaurant in Melbourne.
Staff is SO attentive and warm. It truly feels like visiting an old friend for a great meal.
Ambiance is always on point.
The food is spectacular ever.single.time.
Keep doing what you’re doing. Love you guys!
Absolutely the best Balinese in Australia! Warung Agus are the best thing in North Melbourne by far. Suci and Mary are wonderful hosts and bartenders and they do everything they can to make sure you and your friends or family are having the meal of a lifetime. Santhi is an exceptional cook who always delivers her absolute best from the kitchen. During quarantine they have been a life saver with the takeaway options. My favourites include the tempeh goreng and the eggplant curry (both vegan and scrumptious). Everything on the menu is moreish and I’d ask their own recommendations if you are not sure what to get. Book in or ring ahead for takeaway as it all goes quickly!
I’d recommend eating in when places open up again because the dining in experience just means more time to be surrounded by the family photos and Balinese serenity. Very very kid friendly and also a great date spot (book into the sun bed if possible)
