Wangaratta Cinema Centre reviews
52 This cinema is a great place to watch a movie. Recently watched the new top gun movie and was amazed by the sound and picture! Prices were decent and gave discounts for students which was handy.
Staff were extremely friendly and were not afraid to strike a conversation instead of doing just the bare minimum.
The owner should be proud of such a well run establishment and I will definitely be recommending this cinema to everyone!
After recently walking out of a screening of the Northman at Albury Cinema my wife and I realised how good the audio and visual quality is at Wangaratta Cinema. The dialogue in Albury sounds like the characters have their hands cupped over their mouths! Whereas here at Wangaratta the sound is excellent and clear. I would argue that even the projectors have better saturation and brightness at Wangaratta. Customer service is always great also!
Employees were extremely rude, as soon as we walked in the door we were told to 'turn around and get back down those stairs' they tried to kick me and my friends out twice in one night! We were scowled at and questioned just because of the way we look (apparently we looked like trouble makers), unbelievable.
We didn't cause any trouble, were very polite and followed every cinema rule yet didnt even get an apology from an employee after being rudely told to leave while the movie was still going, this has happened to me and my friends on SEVERAL occasions before at this establishment! I know several other people who have also complained of this treatment with them making assumptions about their character.the sound was also ridiculously loud, all of us had to cover our ears and were in physical pain afterwards, I had to put in earplugs and still had issues and felt half deaf afterward.
Shaun the manger at the cinemas is extremely unprofessional, very rude and abrupt. The way he approached both myself and younger children was absolutely appalling. This issue should be addressed with a higher mentor and reconsider the staff they have on display for their company. Horrible experience and I will never be going there/ or recommend this place to family and friends.
Had a fun birthday party with 13 kids plus extra guests. Only downside is not finding out session times until a few days before but kids had an awesome time.
Nice country cinema with 3 seperate cinema screens everything you would expect from the candy bar to the popcorn and coke.
Horrible horrible experience. We were spoken to ridiculously rudely by a staff member name Shaun I felt attacked and harassed to say the least I will never ever return completely disgusted.
Completely destroyed my 10 year old sisters birthday I will be making a further complaint.
Shout to David for being awesome and going above and beyond looking after the cinema and bowling guests like he did for us and I’ve seen him do for others. We were running late to see Scream but he made sure we didn’t miss out on a popcorn deal to enjoy a great cinema experience! He’s very friendly and accommodating and is a credit to the organization. Thanks David, kind regards Nicole
Don't waste your money. Where do I even start.
1, The rude man named Shaun (or Sean depending on how you spell the name). You can not claim concessions on public holidays, I've never encountered this so I simply asked why this was the case. Shaun at the ticket counter spoke to us so rudely.this of course made me retaliate in the nicest possible way, which was also met with more attitude and lip.
2, Prices are ridiculous. I was a local but now live in the cbd and I've never had to pay so much for a ticket alone.dont even get me started on the food price. We did not buy any food, too pricey and forget bringing your own snacks, they wont allow it in.
3, Outdated and uncomfortable seating. This has been a problem for over a decade and it's not getting any better.
Go to Albury.its cleaner, cheaper and the ticket salesman wont give you attitude
Update: My main concern is about Shaun and how he spoke to us. I am allowed to ask a question, I did not ask rudely. I was met with lip and considering this reply from your buisness was written by the same rude man.your lie about my attitude says it all. I didnt speak to any of the other workers besides one girl in order to get your name Shaun. "Excuse me girls, whats the ticket mans name.okay thankyou" as i walked away and gave her a thumbs up. Was this the junior you mentioned? The only other person I spoke to? If i offended her by asking her a name, politely and with a smile then im truely sorry. But you and I both know that she wasnt upset and you're simply full of it.
Your prices are far too expensive. Anyone from city areas will agree, maybe you need to hike up the price in regional areas.doesn't make my statement any less false.
My mother was the one who complained about the seating, if they're new, they're junk.
Can't take backpacks in, basically forcing people to pay the ridiculous prices for their rubbish food. $15 for two frozen cokes, are you kidding? You wonder why cinema is dying.
I love the cinema, I am local and have gone to the wang cinema for as long as I can remember. Though for the past few months I have been less inclined to visit, as of recently everytime I have visited, myself and others have been greeted in an unfriendly matter by one of the managers, I believe Sean is his name. I wished to write this and avoid naming names, but truth is, most of the other staff have been friendly and welcoming. Though as I was saying, everytime lately I have visited, it feels like the manager is looking for a reason to have a go at you, and is in no circumstances a "reasonable" person. I have never run a cinema, but if I was to have on suggestion, hand the reigns to someone that has at least some people skills and can smile.
This is a lovely small theater that was perfect to take my grandson for his first cinema experience. Will definitely be going more
Friendly staff and very clean amenities, we all had a great day of fun & entertainment playing bowls and the other games.
Just another cinema. Slow queue to pick up booked tickets as only one person doing ticketing and serving "foods" because of covid limitations. Movie (Rams) ok
Were 15 minutes late opening, and even then were not ready to serve in the bowling alley, with no service at the cafe. Don't advertise 5pm opening if you aren't going to be able to do it!
$10 limit on eftpos? Really? What a ripoff force people to spend more money than they want to. Made me shook.
What a rip off, $18.50 to see a movie in an old smelly cinema. I was shocked by the price buy even more shocked with the bad customer service.
Small cinema but enjoyable prices reasonable not the best seats bit small and cramped but friendly service
We arrived early to purchase tickets, then left to buy some lollies from Woolies before the film. We then went back and purchased drinks at the cinema. Once we got to the screen entrance, the member of staff informed me I couldn't take my bag inside including the food we had purchased elsewhere.
I've never been to a cinema where I am unable to take my handbag. After removing my wallet and other expensive items, I handed it over. If they had told us that food bought elsewhere was not allowed when we bought the tickets I wouldn't have bothered going to buy it. Apparently it is on a sign somewhere but it can't be too obvious.
We spent nearly $50 there in total - surely that is contributing to their business enough why shouldn't I be allowed to take in a bag of caramel popcorn (which they don't sell.)
Lovely cinema complex. Reasonable prices for seniors. Good range of films although more art house films would be welcomed.
