Wangaratta Cinema Centre reviews
522 adults, 2 kids, $120 for movie tickets and a popcorn choc top combo for the kids. And we are refused entry because we have 2 drinks with us from outside. We didn't try to hide them, we were respectful, yet we were treated with disrespect in front of our kids. This place needs a new manager.
Went with my mum and she had brought in a coffee from another cafe and tried to go in to watch the film 2 minutes prior to starting time. Was refused access from both staff Shaun and another and was told to buy a coffee from them or throw the other out.the coffee machine was Not with the other beverage or snack stands were, and was in a closed part of the building.staff were rude and harassed us also searched through my bag, The water was way to overpriced like $4? And any outside food was thrown out. Would definitely not go again the staff are rude and the service was terrible.
Not to mention the long amount of adds (15+ minutes) and how uncomfortable the chairs were.
Update we had my younger sister’s birthday party at the bowling area and Shaun the guys who was helping us literally took over and was staring at us the whole time, was really creepy and uncomfortable and wasn’t very friendly. Management need to teach their staff some manners as multiple occasions have been like the first. Go to Albury definitely 10 times if not more better!
Terrible. Check your bags tried to refuse my child entry because she took her shoes off due to having blisters from them being new. Can’t bring your own drinks in as you must purchase their inflated drinks instead.
Modern screenplay technology, comfortable seats, clean environment. Here is everything you need for good quality time! Recommend!
Shaun the manager is so rude bro he needs to be fired he is unprofessional and just rude for no reason
If you like bring frisked before a film it's ok, and they demand you leave your bag even after searching it.
On holidays and unfamiliar with this cinema. Bought tix for me and my kids - $60, then went to Woolies to save money on snacks, as we all know how overpriced popcorn is at the cinema (I can make it for under a dollar a serve at home). Refused entry with snacks, the staff member pointing to a tiny conditions of entry sign that you don’t see until you head in. You’ve gained NOTHING by doing this, as there was no way I was now spending money on food from the snack bar. This is a cost of living crisis and these types of rules make cinema experiences inaccessible to those struggling. Also, I’m appalled after reading of the treatment received by a type 1 diabetic patron described in another review. Sounds as though management could do with empathy and disability awareness training. Future patrons, smugglw your sweets in better than we did! Or just stream at home. Disappointing.
Terrific cinema. 4 screens, 2 with 3D. Almost always a great selection of movies and they try to have something from all genres.
Staff is always friendly.
There is elevator access for the less mobile.
Good pricing, it's easy for one adult to enjoy a film and snacks for under $40.
Cinema was alright but I was very angry when we got lollies and snacks form Woolworths and we couldn’t bring them in
I’ve been to this cinema with my mum many times and she is a type 1 diabetic, meaning she has to carry lollies with her as medicine in case she has a hypo, and we were almost refused entry after buying tickets because she had to bring a small bag of lollies in.shaun and the owner were very rude to us when we were trying to explain the situation, my mum even got out her diabetic pump and equipment to prove she was a diabetic! Shaun reacted very rudely and unprofessionally and swore at us and had an outburst.this was the first time my mum had experienced any sort of discrimination due to her diabetes and it was not pleasant for her, we had already bought the tickets so we couldn’t just leave.after about 10 minutes of arguing with us they let us into the movie, but we should have just gotten a refund and left! Wouldn’t go back and not
supporting this business anymore, would travel to albury for a better cinema to be honest!
Been here a fair few times
Great place with friendly staff. Try the popcorn as it's always fresh.
Lady brought in a coffee from another cafe and tried to go in to watch the film 2 minutes prior to starting time. Was refused access from both staff and was told to buy a coffee from them or throw the other out.the coffee machine was Not with the other beverage or snack stands were, and was in a closed part of the building.staff were rude and harassed us also searched through my bag, The water was way to overpriced like $4? Worst experience at a cinema.
The cinema was freezing cold and when raised the issue of the temperature to an employee they just shrugged their shoulders and made no attempt to resolve this issue.
Was rudely told that no food or drink that was not purchased on the premises could not be taken into the cinema however there is no terms or conditions available on the website and fail to effectively communicate such rules.
Lastly there was a ridiculous amount of advertisements before the film started which was not appropriate for a children's movie (know your audience).
Took my children here today, where I was told I wasn’t allowed to take my babies nappy bag into the theatre room. Absolutely ridiculous, had I been by myself with the kids and I needed something from the bag, I’d have to load them all up, to go to the front desk to grab whatever is needed then go back in. As a paying customer it’s stupid to expect someone to miss parts of the movie they’re seeing. I would of been more then happy to have them check my bag for food/drinks, but this option wasn’t available (it was clear we had no food in our bag anyway seeing as we were loaded to the hills with popcorn and lollies from the front). I will spend our money in Albury from now on, where I’m not treated differently for having a nappy bag for a baby.
To all employees at wangaratta cinema centre are so good and lovely to talk to all bs about this get a live
We rocked up in suits to watch a respectable movie, the minions rise of gru and they turned us and money away, terrible.
Just watched Elvis,
Great atmosphere and movie. Downside
Too bloody loud, they should adjust volume for us oldies.
Seats need to be upgraded, it is so uncomfortable sitting in those chairs. Other then that the ticket prices are exceptable, but the candy bar section of weighing your candy are quite high, so won't be getting any candy from there again learnt my lesson the first time.
Fantastic venue to watch a movie with the fabulous sound and the chairs are so comfortable. The staff are so polite and extremely helpful and efficent.
Absolute horrible service by a man named Shaun. He spoke with such aggression and anger towards paying customers! The harassment that came from this guy during a movie was appalling. The owner of this company would be ashamed to see how disgustingly this man spoke to my parents, whilst accompanied by kids. Not the sort of behaviour to have in general, let alone in a kids centre. Would not recommend this place from a bar of soap that’s for sure.
