Walkers Wheels reviews
35Very difficult to find parking, but worth the effort. Friendly and efficient, great range, genuine service.
Many, many, many years ago, some friends were looking for mountain bikes. They researched every bike shop in the north of Melbourne and probably even beyond. They decided Walker's Wheels was the best. Soon after, I did the same but I should have just gone straight to Monty and saved myself some time. It's not just mountain bikes, road bikes, e-bikes, kids bikes are on sale too. Marcus can fix almost anything and would rather repair something than sell you a new part. He's even willing to tackle a Brompton from time to time. The shop isn't as flashy and clinical as some, doesn't have a huge range, it's a bit untidy, but he'll make you a coffee and give you straightforward advice. Be warned, he loves a chat (which is good), so leave some extra time for some tall tales.
I have been seeing Marcus for my bike needs for the best part of 20 years. Marcus provides a consistently good service at very reasonable prices. Marcus is honest and reliable and always has an amusing story worth a listen every time you pop in. If you've got an old or new bike that needs a look, or looking for a new bike or accessory, you've got to come here.
Fantastic customer service with great advice. I came in to purchase some equipment and clothing as I just have got into mountain bike riding and I came upon this store. The owner was friendly and had great advice on how to set my bike up. Will be back soon as all my need will be met.
Great family run business offering the personal touch and people who know bikes with great value for money
Great local bikestore - owner is fantastic character, super relaxed and great pricing for a decent service/ overhaul of my commuter bike. Even let me try out an ebike - awesome. What you want your bike store to be like.
It's a one man show. He lives, breathes and rides bikes daily. Listen to him on the radio talking bikes. He isn't anti electric, he rides one himself. He's honest and knowledgeable. I trust him.
The BEST bike shop and owner you can come across especially if you are after real advice, cool facts and awesome stories. Whatever issue you may have with your bike, Marcus will tell you straight away what's the best way to fix it without breaking the bank.
Fantastic service and pricing. Marcus knows his stuff and is a cracking bloke to top it off! Couldn't rate any higher!
You will not find a more genuine and helpful and friendly man than Marcus to help you with your bicycle needs
If you got all the bike experts together, this guy would stand out as the expert out of that group. He has knowledge, wit and a can-do attitude. A pleasure to deal with and who I go to with any bicycular questions I may have. Highly recommended.
Great guy. Honest. Reliable and worth traveling across Melbourne to go and see. I do! He is the best. Don’t bother looking anywhere else.
A true gem of a bike shop. Friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable staff with a great attitude towards all customers. Can’t recommend enough!
Marcus certainly knows his stuff. I popped past one day out of the blue as my gears were popping out (I don't know the technical term lol). Quick as a flash Marcus had my bike on the repair stand and his hands moved like a blur to get things back into place. NO CHARGE! Thanks again Marcus.
I live locally and have taken my bike to Marcus for service and repair. Decent, humorous, unique bloke - and totally knows his stuff. Very generous with his time and expertise and even if I moved out of the area would make the effort to keep getting my bike serviced and repaired there as he does an awesome job and is one of those rare characters who is interesting to talk to about anything and everything, as well as being excellent at what he does. As an aside, whenever I've mentioned Walker's Wheels to anyone who lives locally, a surprising amount of people are aware of the shop and have really positive things to say, even if they aren't bike riders. That to me says a lot.
