Village Cinemas Fountain Gate reviews
56Absolutely % a shocker. Maybe we need another pandemic to make it a law to clean it. If management can not maintain it, maybe it should be closed down. I went on cinema 9 and all the seat were worn, ripped and sticky. Absolutely terrible and to pay so much to see a Movie no wonders movie theatres are dying
My last experience with village cinemas (gold class) was something I have not experienced before.
When greeted, I was shown to a table and basically forgotten about. I arrived 30 mins prior to the movie time so I could enjoy a drink before the movie.
When seated, I was not given a menu.
This lead to the waiters/waitresses being unaware to come and check if I'd like anything. I had to wait 15 mins upon arrival, only to then have to ask for a menu. I even explained that I had not been seen to or given a menu once seated.
I felt like I then had no time to enjoy a pre movie drink as it was now 20 of the 30 minutes passed before the start of the movie.
Once the cinema had opened up to the customers, the gentleman guiding people to their seat had very little knowledge of where the seats were located.
When the movie started, I was informed (after pre paying my in movie beverages and food well before the movie time) that they had no cauliflower to complete my order. They did however ask if I'd like to substitute it for chips to which I requested some wedges.
When they brought out my start of movie drink with the meal, they also brought out the milkshake I'd ordered for the middle of the movie.
I was honestly shocked with the service this particular time.
I had experienced poor quality food prior to this session, and wrote it off as being a once off thing.but again?
C'mon guys you need to be better.
The waiter who brought me the menu (once asked) could have offered me a free drink as reconciliation.
Training will help with the gentleman showing customers their seats.
And while I appreciate the waitress who offered me an alternative option to my food, there should be plenty of food available to prepare the correct orders to begin with.
As for the drink coming out at the wrong time, that could also be a training thing.
I'm keen to see how you respond, and plan to make this and other experiences better into the future.
Looking forward to your reply Village.
I come here very often and enjoy the cinematic experience throughout each cinema. Although, one day, I decided to purchase Gold Class tickets. I was shocked by how unspecial i felt in the whole experience. There was hardly any difference between a Gold Class lounge. There was no free food as expected, nor any complimentary items. The food prices were the exact same and the cinema was also the same besides the fact that we could ring a worker to order food. I spent $300 total on 3 tickets which I highly regret. Maybe try HOYTS Gold Class as an alternative.
Felt understaffed as service was slow, last three times we visited. Food and drink is fine.
Will try another location next time.
Went in gold class tonight and was extremely disappointed.
All the food was cold and the seats we sat in had chocolate sauce spilled all over the arm rest, it got our sleeves dirty and sticky.
I told the manager and he did nothing about it.
Paying as much as you do for gold class I rather go hoyts for a cheaper price and better experience!
We purchased tickets from the express ticket machine, it took the money out of the account but never printed us the tickets. We went to the counter only for the rude manager to tell us we would have to pay again for tickets and come back in 5 days once the original ticket amount was processed for a refund. My kids missed out on seeing a movie today as I wasn't paying twice and I still have to go back in 5 days to get a refund. Never again will I use village.
I can’t believe how rude Nicole from Village customer service was WHO sold me a ticket i was trying to get information on about a movie called No hard feelings i didn’t get no communication Just had her back towards me left me i had no Clue what She was doing at the pop Corn machine i had no explanation what She was doing i didn’t ASK for pop corn i actually had to say out loud excuse me but She totally treated me Like garbage Just didn’t care, her other colleage was defending her and apoloised for her and was covering her BAD customer service respect would go a long way Nicole had absolutely no manners what so ever i thank GOD She not working for my company its appalling shocking and some training for staff would make the Cinemas much enjoyable Nicole is a let Down lucky She had her other co-worker picking her slack work ettic
Good ambience if you go there a little earlier to avoid big ques to get popcorn and drinks.
Great cinema with a long queue
it's massive inside, the ceilings are so high.the queues can be insane though.it's a problem at any cinema but especially so here.they should do something about it, but they know people will keep coming regardless.the actual cinemas are pretty well kept, and not too dirty.the food is insanely expensive though.just like other cinemas.
Such long queue for ticketing and only 1-2 registers I open, it’s ridiculous. Waited half an hour for it
Sooooooo expensive! The cost of food is robbery. No wonder people sneak food and drink into the cinemas
My wife and I had an amazing experience yesterday. My wife slipped and fell in a restaurant not too far away. She twisted her ankle so much she could not walk on it and we missed the 9pm film. After security had gotten us a wheelchair and I wheeled my wife to the cinema, Carly the manager could not help us enough she was amazing. It was our date night with our baby girl at home, Carly provided a wheelchair, allowed us to go into a 930pm film, as we had missed the beginning of the original one that we had booked she provided us with popcorn, chocolate and water. Thank you Carly so much for looking after us outstanding service.
Really disappointed. Brought tickets online & still had to line up in the click & collect que for over 20 mins - with only 2 staff on & on a busy Friday night. Missed the first 10 - 15 mins of the movie, sent the ticket to a friend who was with me & they got sent by a staff member to the incorrect cinema. Thanks for mucking us around village fountain gate. Won't be coming back here. A refund on the tickets would be nice as some kind of compensation but we all know that won't happen.
Had to have a gift card extended a few times mostly because of Lockdowns! Just before this last lockdown they said they'd extend it another month and now that a month of lockdown is over they say they won't extend it any further. Very disappointing!
All I can say is don't buy these for people, yet another company that seems to be profiteering from this virus.
The gold class experience is good, however this cinema needs an update. The escalator was broken, torn carpet the general cinema area doesn't look pleasant.
We asked way to much questions about the food, which they were nice enough to answer, would not recommend the beef burger though
Something about watching movies on the big screen, place is always clean with great selection of snacks inside and heaps of places to eat outside.
Had a great time with my grandchildren after such a long time. We enjoyed the movie. Place is always busy and clean. Just getting too expensive what with the drinks, popcorn and ice-cream plus tickets. Close to different cafes and dining facilities on the lower levels.
Refused to refund a ticket bought before the lockdown. What an ##*hole greedy cinema. Act like I was the guy responsible for lockdowns.
Very good place, nice people and great movies
lots of asian restaurants but maybe too many as there could be other options but still very good asian food
the movies are incredibly loud there too so if your into that you will love it as well as the seats as they are comfortable.would recommend
