Village Cinemas Coburg Drive-In reviews
37Que driving in ridiculously slow.need online booking express lane.was 15 mins late getting in and then no spaces left because cars taking up two spots.then the diner app was not working so had to wait for 30mins to get food in the diner. Such a shame, it could have been much better if they got there sh#t together.
Best way to see latest release films. Just bring a bottle of wine and some nibbles and it's a perfect date night.
Lots of memories going as a kid and now I bring my own. Always enjoy it specially when they do special themes. Unfortunately other people have no idea how to behave there. Constantly turning their lights on. Driving around with them on while the movie is going. Parking large vehicles infront.
Ayee there were no more car park spaces by the time we arrived. I was late tho. Still.
Also it fogged. Lol daym.
Nice, clean and friendly staff. It was great to watch the movie outside under the stars sitting on our camp chairs. Some people obviously go quite often and have their set up down pat!
The service is great and inside where yo get food is clean and definitely looks great! Onky 4 stars because the road needs to be upgraded - there's soo many pot holes!
First time at a drive in cinema and totally love it
only con: people should turn off their headlights without being told.it's common courtesy
A wonderful experience and more cars than we expected. Not too much has changed in the years since I last went. The speaker stands remain but you just tune your radio to the relevant FM station. A diner with all you would expect with food and drink. Close to St. Georges Road and Sydney Road. Very happy with it.
It's all about the experience, even the food, & lining up inside the American like diner. Only the burgers and the lack of lighting near the amenities let's it down.
They have very modern Drive-In style picture projectors. And the sound quality that comes through your FM radio is 'now' awesome.
Plenty of room to get out and stretch your legs.
And the eats and drinks takeaway food that is on site is very good.
Great place to come and watch a movie, and forget about the stress of the working week. #Maybe a 4th screen soon?
Somehow I missed going to the drive in as a kid. Even so, there's something incredibly nostalgic about the experience. Despite the movie that I saw being a little mediocre, the experience as a while was fabulous. Intermittently seeing the silhouette of a bat flying in front of the screen was rather special, too.
Haven't been to a drive in for a long time and we loved it, especially as we were able to take our puppy with us instead of leaving him at home.
One of the last drive- ins left in Melbourne, the screens are a bit small and the detachable speakers are not always available, other than that it's your only option for that old time drive-in experience.
Entrance could do with some updating and prices are pretty pricey, if youre not a full carload BUT absolutely love going to the drive ins. Such a great experience. Especially if you have young kids or babies. Love the old school diner and the fact you can order food from your car through the app! Perfect in summer, with a matress in the ute, or back of the car with a bunch of blankets, pilllows and snacks!
Highly recommended.
The old school vibe is just incredible for a drive in cibema. It's amazing that how they kept the cafe like how it was originally, giving it a classic old drive in experience.
This would get a higher review if it wasn't owned by village. Love the drive in, but vliage is a damn evil organisation
Awesome new experience with kids outdoor movie, reminded me those older days when we all used to sit to gather and watch movie under stars with family. Highly recommend
Went to the Coburg drive-in on a Monday night. Similar to the Lunar drive-in, it has several screens and the food and toilets in the centre. It was $10 tickets on that night. The food was a bit overpriced but nothing I didn't expect. Everything went really smoothly. Thank you for the fun experience!
It was great at first but there has been a real downward trend in service, including rudeness from staff. The sound quality is not very good and my burger tonight was 3/5, dark parts of the movie are difficult to see
