VIEWBANK Fish & chips

Update 10 November 2023 - Still super yummy love the potato cakes must go in a few more times during my stay here in Viewbank. So good! The chips however were okay but not as good as previous times I’m not sure just the flavour of the potato and just not as golden brown crunchy but edible. I'm house sitting in Martin's Lane almost opposite this amazing fish and chip shop and my friend he told me that it was really good and I gotta try it so I did tonight and yes beautiful food cooked well and the best potato cakes just as my friend told me. It was very busy in there tonight which is a testament to how good it is. Lots of staff working behind the counter. Definitely a place to return to. Update- I've been back in Martin's Line since 14th of June and I have come back here twice and it's been yummy each time).

Visited here with my son recently while on a quick trip to Melbourne. maps said this was top rated.
The food was ok but not even close to our local fish and chips shop in Brisbane.
I'm not sure what other fish and chip shops are like in Melbourne but this was well below Brisbane standard.
PS Melbournites, don't come to Brisbane, we're full!

The best Fish and Chip shop in all of Banyule. The fish is always fresh, chips and potatoe cakes to die for, the chicken burger is delicious with a generous piece of chicken grilled to perfection and great value with chips and a drink. The shop is so clean and the staff friendly and efficient, wont go any where else!

Delicious fish and chips at a great price point! The batter gave such a satisfying crunch to each bite, and the fish fillet was thick and fresh

They serve non-fish options too, which also tasted great!

Service was friendly, and the time estimate they gave for how long my order would take was highly accurate would definitely return if I could!

Very biased as I live in the area and I’ve been coming here for years but this is hands down the best metropolitan fish and chips shop I’ve been to. You can tell they change the oil frequently as the food is never too heavy, and they’re legends as they always chuck in an extra potato cake or calamari ring without fail. The chicken schnitzel burger is also a terrific shout should you not opt for the traditional fish and chip route

Extremely dodge. Called the number which appears to be a mobile phone number. Spoke to some guy briefly trying to give my order and then call cut out mid way of conversation.

Pretty good burgers & fish. Chips were a bit overcooked but for the price it is quite reasonable.

First time visitor to this fabulous fish n chip shop in Viewbank. The staff are lovely, friendly, patient, professional and (and there are quite a few you'll notice when you enter for the very first time, it's obvious this is more than just your Mum & Dad suburban fish n chipper). It's an impressive team to watch in action, their collective dance was an array of the highest high, calm flowed throughout the shop, blanketing those within, sharing in the calm at the core of this entire scene.
Waited 5 minutes longer than expected, only to be shorted on 2 menu items, overstocked in the gross meat section too.
Wonderful, weird and wacky, just smoke some nice t'baccy.
Further insights in future times, keep an eye on THAT space.

Great fish and chips! The batter is crispy and light and the fish is firm and pulls apart quite well. The chips were just regular styled fish and chips but who's to say that's a bad thing? Overall a delightful experience. Will be back.

Had flake and chips tonight. Everything was very tasty and cooked to perfection. Lovely to see young people taking orders, money and doing cooking.

My new favorite chippery. Crumbed fish is the best way to have it and their potato cakes are the best I have tried. It's always busy so I guess I'm not the only one who digs their nosh.

Friendly service, good food. I'm picky when it comes to F&C. Food isn't overly oily for fried food, grilled fish is done well!

Best fried flake around, thick and juicy! I travel from 4 suburbs away to get it. All the seafood i have tried from this shop is 10/10.

Tried the burger recently and was really good. Seafood always great. Really good chips and potato cakes. Only problem with a good review, is parking to pick up the order will get more difficult! Great job, thanks guys!
