Viet Star Restaurant reviews
58 Friendly workers, extremely quick turnover of food which was great for my takeaway, and quote a tasty pho
Will definitely return
We’ve been going to Viet Star for 15 years and love it (obviously!). The food is delicious, quick and generous.
Just got takeaway from them. Got the Mongolian beef and rice.
After picking it up went to eat it at uni and was ok. About 15 minutes later felt very ill and had pain in my stomach and throat. Vomited up all the rice and now have food poisoning! From rice! Not good.
Service was okay, never got given a bottle of water and staff not particularly friendly.
Food was quite nice and affordable.
Quick service for takeaway.
The combination fried rice was mediocre at best. Saying that, would like to go back and try other dishes in the restaurant, perhaps a better experience in store
The menu prices do not reflect what they will charge you.
They don't properly wash vegetables if they don't come from a frozen food bag so expect grit.
And well.just get the springs rolls they can't mess them up.
Quick easy no nonsense Vietnamese. If your looking for a tasty meal with value first money price here it is!
We ordered two chicken and vegetable egg noodle soups and a serve of curry puffs for takeaway. The portions were incredibly generous, the vegetables were varied, abundant and very fresh. The noodles were excellent. The chicken was poached perfectly, and the broth was nothing short of 10/10. The curry puffs were also great.
Service was prompt and friendly. We received our food about 5 minutes after placing our order, which was very impressive. All around fantastic value for money, excellent service, and most importantly, delicious food! We will definitely be back.
Love how the boss explains his food, always giving you tips and tricks on how to use his sauces, you can mix and match with your taste and is so passionate about his cuisine. The food is absolutely delicious by the way. Thank you Boss xx
Great Vietnamese restaurant with amazing staff there. Pho, crispy chicken noodles and hainanese chicken are our favourite there!
One of eateries i would go to frequently in the area. I like that the dishes are not too much oil, big serving and the price is reasonable for the size and quality of food. I usually order pho with combination whenever I come here, sometimes the broken rice with grilled pork. Always busy so don't expect much from the service, they can be rude. Hence not 5 stars.
Fast service & Food was good. Some MSG though - Have been super thirsty the whole night. Should have informed us there is $1 per person surcharge for tea
Exactly what you want from a local eatery, tasty food, affordable prices and quick service. I haven't eaten in a long time but the takeaway is very efficient. My go-tos are the broken rice and cambodian rice noodle soup!
Three of us came to Viet Star Restaurant on a Tuesday night for dinner. It was very bustling which shows that this restaurant is a very popular place to come, even on a weeknight! We ordered the prawn crackers, prawn and pork rice paper rolls, grilled chicken vermicelli, combination noodles with vegetables and meat, and a dish with fried rice and chicken. The food was served quickly. The waiters weren't too interested in having a conversation or telling us what meals they were giving us as they brought them to our table. I think they were more focused on prompt customer service. Nevertheless, the food was absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed our experience here. Thank you Viet Star!
I came here to eat with my friends and the place is not bad. The service is bad and the drinks need improvements. Overall the place isn't bad but needs improvements
If you have young children don’t come to this restaurant! The woman behind the cashier wants you to clean up the place for her!
Ordered on Uber Eats after seeing great reviews. All food ordered had delicious flavor and came in large portions - this is great even for Uber eats.
I ordered Pho and rice paper rolls.
I will order again and when lockdown is over I will have to pay a visit to the restaurant, very fresh and tasty food.
Edit: Visited when the restaurant opened back up. Made a reservation for an outdoor table which was confirmed. When arrived, we were told we had to sit inside.
We tried other dishes besides our usual order, and found that they were average.
* The above are the reasons for 4 stars.
I will definitely stick to take-away/uber eats Pho and rice paper rolls.
The most UNFRIENDLY and ANTIPATHETICAL waiters ever.
I went on Saturday 23 at 3pm and with only three tables the waiter just pointed a table to sit us without even say "hello", talon the other table the waitress just drop the menu and left (no hi for them as well) and when I went to pay not even "thank you"
The good was ok, so if you want a reasonable price Vietnamese food without mind to be treated with disdain or valued as a customer this place is for you.
Good old school fun overall, from a very obscure little establishment, five brothers giving their interpretation of the classic dishes from Nam. The interior is a bit archaic, but it brings the requisite authenticity and it doesn’t really stand in the way of the food which is the star performer. I mean, how can you expect to conquer the East with just a single gust of spice and fragrance. 5 stars
Used to be my fav place to have Vietnamese dishes, now it's stale ingredients with flat salty in taste.
