Vandana's Indian Restaurant

Our family often eats at Vandana's, whose Indian cuisine is fantastic, fresh and authentic Indian flavours. Their rogan josh and vindaloo curries are excellent and their flaky naan is a definite go to. Their staff and owners are friendly and happy. We will keep eating at Vandana's and highly recommend them for good, tasty Indian.

I order Yellow Dal for takeaway and was very disappointed. I specifically ordered Dal to be mild as it was meant for my kids. But Dal had so much Garam masala that not just kids, even i could barely eat. I was hoping to get a relaxing evening by not having to cook but it was a total waste. Not likely to return.

Excellent butter chicken, one of the best in the area. Beef vindaloo and dhaal are also good.

Ordered takeaway from here in April. I hadn’t ordered here in many years as I moved away. Always had great food previously but was really disappointed now. Normally rich sauces that seemed to be watered down.

Utterly poor customer service. Called them for take away, the guy taking the order was not interested at all and was very frustrated with questions like what is chef’s special curry. He replied “ what are you calling for? We have 20 different curries, how can I recommend? ”
Glad we did not go for dine-in and will never try.

The best local Indian takeaway in melbourne. This has been my go-to for Indian for 7 years. Their food is amazing, fresh and great value. I have friends who drive across town to eat here.

A couple of notes - it’s geared for takeaway, I have never seen anyone eat in (plastic tables, lack of atmosphere).
There have been nights when it was crazy busy but usually the wait for pickup is 20 minutes.

Can’t believe people in reviews criticised the service. Shut up and enjoy a curry

One of the few places open on the NYE public holiday, Vandana’s did not disappoint. Generous portions, great flavour and good service. I can’t relate to any negative reviews left by others here and will definitely order takeaway from Vandana’s again!

We got take out here for the first time in a while. We got butter chicken, lamb korma, and chicken tikka. It was all so flavoursome and plenty of meat in each dish, which was great.

We re addicted to their beef korma. By far the best and most affordable Indian restaurant for miles around. We keep coming back, either for easy take away or dine in. Known this place for years. Love it.

Ordered for the first time from here via Uber based on it’s online rating Unfortunately disappointing experience Delivery was supposed to be priority delivery but took almost an hour, Was missing an entree of Samosa When called the restaurant the woman/owner said it couldn’t been missed ‘check ur delivery’ again and says their very busy tonight and can’t help any further.
In addition the food was just okay nothing special Butter chicken sauce was watery not very tasty Hopefully just an off night but won’t be back

Really Great Service. Use to live next to here.and this one guy who always served me was amazing, so friendly. We really liked his service. I haven't seen him the pass 2-3 times we've been, hoping he comes back as they have messed up our order twice, nothing major though.:)
I moved to Clayton a year ago and tried a few Indian restaurants closer to home but they were dissapointing. Delivery not in our range to clayton so we are quite happily drive 15 minutes there and back just to have Indian from here. We always get butter chicken and garlic naan, but have had other meals like vindaloo and they really are good. So a this Indian restaurant is a 10/10 for us, we won't look elsewhere now.

Unfortunately service has declined greatly. It felt like it was causing them an inconvenience dining in. No smiles, no welcome or warmth. Used to be great. Food is still nice.

Omg I am addicted to the Butter Chicken. Mango lassi.sensational! Always a great meal and happy tummy over the years. Thank you Vandana's.

Delicious food served hot! What better can i ask. Will be back for the butter chicken and palak paneer.

Got worst service here, we went around 9pm as the guy at front forced us to order the mains with the starters. We ordered only 2 startes which were not even fried properly and were too much oily. So we left the starters and can easily expect how the mains can be. While payment his expression were hilarious as he shaked his head in a rude manner. And said for just 14$ I have to wash my dishes, we have to close our kitchen at 10, even not excepting the bad starters too. That restaurant usually remains empty, now we can easily understand why it's always empty. Never suggest any to go their and have bad experience and food. Don't know anything about hospitality.

Moved into the area and was exploring for Indian food. I found the place and walked in to have food and it was tasty.

Food and service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for some tasty Indian food.
